this has to be the most epic live recording in PTX history. And, yes Kevin is there, he was putting his cello away, he came back just as Avi "dropped into the basement," which is why they all moved over a few steps. Also, the person recording on their device was ALL about Mitch, so, we don't get to see the rest.... Avi did not cover percussion, he blasted the base. The person that filmed this gave us the only recording of this performance, soooo...
You have to remember, when you accuse the person recording this of not knowing their job it's because this isn't their job. This is a FAN VIDEO, recorded on a cell phone, and the fan in question recorded only what he or she was looking at. I don't even think they meant to share it, at the time. It was supposed to be something you show your grandkids when you're very old, and say "When I was your age I saw the great Pentatonix when they came to Singapore!" And then they realized they had something very unusual, and decided they had to start a UA-cam channel so they could post it. It is what it is, a record of a unique moment in Pentatonix history, recorded by chance, by an imperfect human. And with all of its flaws we're still lucky to have it.

WOW - Calm Down Please - When one records with their personal phone they record what they want to see -That is what this person did and was gracious enough to share it with us..Getting angry because the person did not record what you wanted to see is weird.
Since this was back in much worse phone recording days, and it wasn't as easy to get a good video, I'm just grateful this exists! The fan obviously knew this was likely to be an opportunity to capture some serious Mitch moments, and boy howdy, was it ever! This is definitively the most amazing recorded version of Mitch singing this song in concert, probably for all time. They still sing it in concert to this day, and he is always amazing, but this performance was something special. Kevin was on the other side of Scott. It would have been nice to see all five once in a while, you're not wrong about that. The opening part was filmed while Kevin was offstage, but you can see Mitch and Scott move over toward Kirstin to make room for him while Avi is blowing out the speakers, lol. Avi blew out the speakers in this concert (and a couple of others) so the sound was a little rattley on the low end, but that doesn't make this a less amazing performance. I'm glad you finally saw it!
Avi is NOT the percussion - Avi is the BASS! Kevin IS the percussion...just because you don't see Kevin because the fan filming had a serious obsession with Mitch, you can hear him.
This is Mitch: The Prayer This is Mitch with jet lag and 2 Red Bulls just before the concert: Aha! live from Singapore at The Star Vista Hotel Well, I think it's safe to say that you weren't a fan of the camera operator! I won't reiterate all of the comments others have already made about the video circumstances and the person who recorded it - I think it's also safe to say that they were a big fan of Mitch! While I would also have liked to see more of the rest of the group, this video is what we have of the performance. Mitch's delivery in this was pretty amazing. The vocals weren't all that new for him, but he did do more playing to the audience than he usually does.
One of the very few times PTX allowed Avi's operatic training to shine. Not that he wanted to sing opera, but he was great at it. The Los Angeles Opera House had just hired him to be their Basso Profundo when Scott called him needing a bass for the NBC A Capella sing off, Avi chose PTX.
The classical bit they're doing at the beginning is a time filler that Avi suggested they sing while waiting for Kevin to return. Avi was keeping an eye out, and when he saw Kevin walk on stage (and Mitch and Scott move over to make room for him) he signaled the beginning of "Aha!" with his low notes. They were jet-lagged but pretty much had to go on stage immediately, so Mitch grabbed two Red Bulls to compensate. And all that caffeine and sugar apparently hit right at the beginning of "Aha!". Obviously, Mitch should never drink more than one Red Bull, no matter how jet-lagged he is.
Kevin actually was there. He was putting away his cello when the song first began and then joined them on the other side of Scott once Avi had begun going down to the depths. Unfortunately, you're right, the person filming was so focused on Mitch that they ignored the rest of the group. It also wasn't the best sound since Avi actually broke the venue's speakers with that foghorn of a low note. The group eventually learned to travel with their own speakers after a few instances of Avi ruining cheaper venue speakers.

This was fire. You seemed to be irritated before it started while jaded your reaction. It was taken long ago and is a favorite of most of us Pentahaulics. Your bad attitude kinda ruined it for me.
This wasn't recorded for you or really anyone other than the person recording it. They have no obligation to make a video you or any of us approve of. I'm VERY put off by your sense of entitlement rather than being thankful someone recorded this performance since there isn't a professional recording of it. I don't mind that this person focused on Mitch, and even if I did, I would never be so entitled as to think I have the right to berate this person for what they were kind enough to share because it wasn't recorded how I would like it to be done. Who are you to tell this person never to record again? Personally, although I would have enjoyed seeing the others more, especially Avi during certain moments, I'm still VERY glad they did focus so much on Mitch because this was a night that he was "on" even more than usual, which made for a very entertaining watch with moments that could have been missed if the person where panning all over the place to catch everyone equally. Here's a thought, why don't you buy a ticket and go see Pentatonix live and record the performances however you like to your heart's content instead of being nasty and unappreciative of what is available due to the kindness of people who HAVE paid for tickets. Kevin came on as soon as they were done with the intro… he was out of view. This is rightly considered a phenomenal Mitch performance. The individual who recorded it was probably recording this for personal use, they probably never thought it would be seen by others.

Dude chill out. Its an amateur recording and is what it is! This is as far as i know the only recording from this concert . I've watched many of your reactions and am disappointed that you were unable to see past the "unprofessional " recording to really concentrate on the music which is what it's all about after all. A mobile phone recording by a fan is what it is !! Im sorry if it fails to live up to your high expectations but could you have done it any better with just a phone??

Mitch was the only action and everything else was accompaniment. The film is what everyone loves.
