honestly a bit worried about the future of the series. 9/14 new songs in megamix so far have been only charts with no new PV. plus 14 new songs is still much lower than any other project diva game. Megamix is just a future tone port, there hasn’t been a *real* new game since X in 2016. future tone is a port of the arcade game from 2013. Megamix is a port of a port. I really hope the next project diva game (if there is one) will be on switch and feature many new songs with redone graphics, but i doubt it.
@@BACK2SQUARE01imo graphics of mega mix is great balance of anime and 3d graphics. They don’t look too realistic and grey, also oily like future tone use to do
The 10 'exclusive' songs are now on Future Tone Japan only for now or Asia but only for DX for some odd reason only (DX was only released in Japan/China physical release without needed to purchase the DLC packs that make up FT)
My opinion: If you have a Switch and no PS4. Start with Megamix. If you have a PS4. Buy Future tone. All dlc ends up to 248 songs and practice mode isn't bugged.
I agree with the video, but all the new songs for the new entry. ARE NOW DLC for FUTURE TONE ON PS4, it's nice for ppl who have Future Tone as myself, so i probably wont buy Mega Mix since i can get all the new songs to Future Tone due to the new DLC
The 10 Mega Mix(39's) is coming to PS4 for the Japanese/Asian version of Future Tone or DX first on July 2nd Japan date and time for 3,000 yen about $28 while Mega39's is getting a season season of DLC packs with so far two new songs (PVs) again for the series while the rest so far songs that have been in FT.
Also if you didn't know us outside Japan didn't get a physical release for MegaMix but in Japan/China there is no such thing as a Mega Pack you have to get the DLC separately not the mention they are ware more exspenive in Japan the country of origin. While we got it cheaper digital only mind the prices even without DLC is less than the full game in Japan at release.
Man, I feel like I'm the only person who bought both versions now lmao. I bought Future Tone with only the Extra Encore DLC when both were on sale and surprisingly haven't been back on sale since the end of 2019. I was waiting for all of 2020 trying to catch another sale on the PS4 to get the Season Pass and Mega Mix Encore packs but that would pretty much have set me back by $45. Thankfully since the Switch isn't region-locked, I was able to pick up all of Mega Mix + DLC for $35 off the Mexican Eshop. Region switching isn't necessarily forbidden, but no one really talks about it since Nintendo has the right to stop doing it at any time (I guess just do it at your own discretion). It pretty much came down to $45 on PS4 for a bunch of songs repeated from older titles and a handful of pre-rendered videos or $35 on Switch for all the new content and the ability to play on the go. Just reviewed all the songs missing from Mega Mix outside DLC and there isn't much missing outside a handful of good tracks- of which I consider Equation+**, I Really Do Understand, Travel to The Other Side of The Moon, (and most egregiously) Lucid Dreaming to be standouts. It seems that most of the cut tracks were from Future Tone Arcade with PJD:F and F2nd each having their own tiny amount of cut songs. From what I could surmise, the majority of Arcade's exclusive tracks got cut from the Switch release since they were a part of a fan campaign that allowed people to create their own music videos using F2nd (like Equation+** and Travel to The Other Side of The Moon) hence why the model movements are so stiff. Considering all of this, I honestly never liked a majority of the songs that were cut so I consider this no loss toward the Switch version. I've personally been enjoying the Switch release more than PS4 because outside of portability, I find the clicky buttons of the Joycons to be a lot more responsive than the DS4. It's also way easier to hold down more inputs on the Joycon D-pad (i.e. you can't hold up, down, and right/left, or left, right, up/down, or all four directional inputs on DS4). Apart from controls, I've grown to appreciate Toon Shader through certain songs that really benefit from the simplified appearance and brighter colors (Catch the Wave, Tricolore Airline, and Shake It!) and dislike it in others (ODDS & ENDS, Ghost Rule, and 1925). TL;DR I think that Mega Mix is a better buy than Future Tone because of the controls, portability, and frequent sales. If you however only have a PS4, Mega Mix certainly isn't solely worth seeking a Switch out as the visuals for FT look generally fantastic and have the Mega Mix tracks as (albeit expensive) DLC.
4:47 actualy, modders discovered that swich are 100% able to run the game with the ps4 style if they used the arcade assets (only hd insted of 2k to 4k deppending of the game upscale or even the ps5 gameplay) the game can run it 100% smooth in resume, it was 1005 artistic choice, and even the psp version of some songs look better...wich is sad....very...sad... modders from the arcade version on pc literally made the cartoon shader a option

I think you should go with mm+ if you do not own any of the games in the project diva series, since it comes with future tone mode, the video turns into the graphics project diva future tone used!
I prefer megamix probably because it has three modes and 1 on my ps4 its also easier to play co op on switch and you can literally pick any style for the buttons so i did not buy any dlc for my ps4 but i definitely will for magamix! This is not hate im just sharing my opinion
After two years we finally have the optimal answer... buy neither! Sega really just mixed both of them in a pc port huh (with mods too, this boutta be gud).
I'm not sure if I just missed it or its in a dlc, but my fav songs like: Spice, Messiah Desire, Always be Happy, and Pomp and Circumstance aren't in the game, I've checked the site out so many times and the DLC list looking for them.
Songs such as spice and pomp and circumstance would probs be seen as too suggestive for the series, out of eden and holy lance explosion boy may have made it into the song list, but the meanings have been altered, i think it'd be very difficult to change the meaning of those two
Future Tone: has 74 songs not included in Megamix (even with DLCs) Megamix: tap mode, mix mode, and _most importantly_ XYBA mode cheapest way to get all 252 songs if you don't care about megamix additions: get the full FT package (about €95 with the basegame bundle + season pass + the megamix dlcs + the DX dlc) while full experience would probably be full megamix package (its new modes for all its 178 songs) + FT base game for the extra 74 songs, for about €140 total (megamix basegame + 2 dlc packs + FT basegame bundle) if you already have full FT package then megamix isn't probably worth imo edit: and if you own only one of the consoles then yeah it's really not worth buying the other console solely for the other version
I got pdft just today, can somebody tell me how to get the actual game as my dad got the demo and not the real game. The only thing I got was the module. So can anybody help? :)
I bought this and after bought future tone I think future tone is way better cuz of the graphics lol and I like the ps console better :3 *my family is basing games most on graphics lolol*
Future Tone, just for the music. Why is the piano from "Amatsu Kitsune" in Mega Mix so quiet? Why do they take out sound effects from the videos in Mega Mix? The songs are mostly the same. No other modules. I think they have all the same videos than before. Mega Mix is just disappointing.
Same fam. The steam version have more songs that the switch port, u can choose between mega mix or future to and the pc version have more songs the future tone with the DLC
I personally hate the way the models look for mega mix. Sure it’s cute in a stylized way but when a game has been made with certain style for so long and you try to change it and it fails is just eehhh. Paper Mario did good with it but mega mix failed for me. But I do like how the only song that uses the graphics of mega mix in future is catch the wave due to it being the big main song with the most hype. Also no lost one’s weeping so I’m not getting it
No hate, but does this even need to be a video? Buy Future Tone. The only reason you should buy Megamix is if you can't play Future Tone for whatever reason, or you're a collector. Even if you want to play the Megamix-exclusives (10 songs how alluring), they're not even exclusives because they're also DLC on Future Tone. Also I could be wrong, but Future Tone is cheaper if you buy both packs together.
Despite everything megamix is a good start for the switch.
