That's terrible driving, no excuse for being a police car. I had a driver do that to me years ago (in London as you would expect) when I was driving, but did the turn much closer to me. It didn't turn out well.
As for Gaz on his bike, I don't think I would have risked going around the front of that car like that, as that driver is just too unpredictable.
I could see they were popping it into reverse, so didn't think the risk was too high.
Tip to offending vehicle: Turn on the blues and twos and THEN do the turnaround to go back the other way, then everyone knows you're the police and need space. If you're disguised as a civvy car don't be surprised when you are treated as one. You cut up a cyclist (who should be afforded the most care and attention) and blocked a T-junction while impersonating as a civilian vehicle - you're a muppet.

Wow! Classic behavior of the police how NOT to handle cyclists, blocking the path. And trust me, I'm not laughing with this kind of stupid behavior of the law enforcement. I have had a situation before, where a police car crossed several lanes with no blinkers at all. And yes, I honked at him. If the citizens have to follow the rules, they have to follow them aswell!

reporting police to the police is pointless.
They used their blue lights every day to go to the local Chinese carry out and back to their canteen.

No surprise. The Police are as bad as the general public for flaunting the rules when driving. I never see them abiding by the speed limits around where I live.

No they are typically worse. Because smort and well brought up people don't want to be police (anymore; no interest and pay is too low), and the culture within the institution allows them to abuse their rights. There are exceptions of course.

Hmm, if your brakes work (and they should if you're on the road), why not slow down or stop, wait for the car to move, then carry on safely?

I clearly did slow down, so my brakes work.
I could see the driver was putting the vehicle into reverse and was turning around, so decided to go in front of the vehicle.
Why can't you even cycle?
