If you live in an apartment or have to practice during quiet hours, I feel ya. I did this for 2.5yrs in an apartment as a gigging drummer, and I know it’s tough to figure out how to practice or even WHAT to practice in order to not wake the neighbors - but still grow on the drums.
Well today I’m teaching you what I believe is the most effective practice pad exercise for drumset players, plus I’m sharing some gear recommendations for practicing realistically at low volumes. This will be fun - YOU CAN DO THIS!

Could those practice heads be fitted with midi triggers or E triggers?
The black holes are made by RTom and they sell clip on triggers. I bought a 5 pack and they work great. You can find triggers for the other mesh heads anywhere like Sweetwater

Those covers are Expensive as hell a Set of Evans Sound offs works perfectly as a drummer in a house with multiple other people
I just bought a drumkit off Nextdoor for $35 and it sounds SO BAD, but with the sound offs it actually sounds pretty good!

I got the Zildjian Quiet Cymals and they so suck, they sound lile a spagheti strainer or sometrhing, I keep them next to my standard 2 crashes and acn hit them hard and hardkly any sioudn comes out, but that is also the issue, the hi hats cant make the right sound, but -they are quiet.
There supposed to sound quite brainiac 🙄
