Welcome back to a very normal couple of days here in New York City. Unfortunately, my day job was extremely busy this week so not much exploring going on, but hey! that's life sometimes. Perhaps this is a sign that I should learn to meal prep rather than relying on dino nuggets 😅🦖
Thanks for watching my little slice of NYC 🍕 Subscribe to stick around 🫶
If I were 30 years younger, I'd do what you're doing. Enjoying your videos.
So glad to hear it!
@@laurabenson1278 me too!!!
Aww, lol, we must be about the same age and I feel the same...
I watch Gail and Chelsea Callahan with a lot of longing wistfulness, wishing I was this age again and this was the kind of life I'd carved out for myself at that age. Oh well!
Sorry for another comment. I agree, NYC is the best place there is.
I was just there visiting family and wanted to mention something readers might be interested in who want to visit the city.
There is now a LIRR connection deep below Grand Central that if you get off in Jamaica, connects you easily to the AirTrain to every terminal at JFK. This cost me a total of $13.25 and took just under 30 minutes. No more cabs/Ubers that cost as much as your airfare. This connection from Penn Station too I think.
AirTrain is $8.25 for everyone. LIRR was $5 but that was a senior fare. But still, what a great thing this is!
Great information to share!! Thank you for letting us all know 🙂
I’m almost twice your age, you’re living what 30 years ago should’ve been my dream life, but not the road life took me down, so keep showing it all, I’m living vicariously through you❤️❤️
Just you is always enough! NEVER EVER lose that innermost independent woman, even if you should find yourself married someday, I lost me, and I will regret that always.
Thank you for sharing ♥️ I hope that you can start or continue the journey of finding yourself again 🫶
Happy Friday! If you have any easy dinner recipes please feel free to share below 😅🫶
Extra points for those of us who recognize Mr. Owl!
Hi Gail!!!I always smile when i see your vlogs,so nice.I don't know how hot is 90 degrees,we have for 2 months 40 degrees Celsius,no winter at all, only for a week,no rain,no snow and now is like burning in hell.I didn't know that you are a photographer 😂you know,my daughter is and she is one year younger than you. That's why you make so nice vlogs and i always like the music ❤❤❤Stay safe my girl❤❤❤
So glad my videos make you smile! Oh wow that is VERY hot, try and stay cool out there! That's so funny you're daughter is also a photographer!
Oh yes,a lot in common!!!Yes so hot and dry and a lot of fires, that's the huge problem.Lets pray 🙏 that everything is going to be ok
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!! 🤩🥰
Gail, l get so very pleased vicariously viewing life in NYC. I am from Toronto and live in Vancouver now and uh yeah, it just is not the same as the east coast big beautiful city vibe AND l have been many times to NYC .
Gosh, l miss it and so long to go back to create further precious experiences and memories.
Brilliance is your talent from you to video...be safe in the dangerous albeit fantastic heat and keep on with your dynamic and oh so relatable life. Continued peace and bless you!💖
@@VC-mo5yg Such a kind comment - thank you so much and thank you for being here!
When I was your age I had an opportunity with my job to move to either NYC or Miami. I visited both and while I really wanted to be in NYC, I ended up choosing Miami. Sometimes I wonder how different my life would have been. Shortly after moving to Miami I met my now husband of 23 years and we have a son who is in college. We have a wonderful life and I know I made the right decision. I do love NYC and travel there every couple of years. New subscriber and enjoying this!
Thank you so much for sharing your story 🫶 and welcome!
Hi Gail I love everyday content so thanks for sharing. It’s so relatable. I live in London and it is loud and dirty as well but wouldn’t change it for the world 😊 that cherry top is really cute btw
Thank you so much for watching! I'm planning to visit London again soon 🙂
I started working from home in 2021 part time. Now I work from home full time. I never want to go back, but I’ve worked a gazillion years, lol. I wouldn’t have imagined being able to do it prior to 2020. I’m in Texas where we think 98° is nice. Well, unless you are in Houston right now. Don’t be shocked that you have subscribers. You’re great! Have a great weekend!
Thank you, Kristy! That is very kind of you to say -- it's crazy what the workforce looked like pre pandemic! Hope you're staying cool in Texas
It’s in the 90’s here, too. (N FL) I used to work from home & loved it. I didn’t realize you are a photographer. In another time in my life, I owned/operated a studio & photo lab (back when there was film). I still have my cameras but have gotten rid of the lab equipment & a lot of the studio equipment. You can get lost in the world of a camera lens. Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed remainder of your week.
That's amazing! I still want to explore and learn about film photography -- I grew up in the digital age but the process seems fascinating and therapeutic
@@theregoesgailI truly loved working in the dark room. My fav hobby was black & white on matte finish paper that I could paint. It really can be therapeutic. Go for it when the time is right. 😊
It truly is a great place. I'm 35 years old. I moved to NYC on a whim when I was 18, fresh out of high school instead of going to college and still going strong all these years later. You're doing great!
Hats off to you!!!
Greetings from Japan ❤ I love your apartment and sharing your wfh activities 😊 it’s very hot and humid in my city,Kyoto too… please stay hydrated ❤❤❤
Oh wow, hello! Thank you so much for watching ♥️ seems like it is hot everywhere!
Hi Gail! Another great video! BUT….no, no, no…good enough is not good enough. You are GREAT…never forget that. ❤️
Easy recipes?? I’m not a cook but I love ravioli. Throw it in boiling water for 4 minutes, a little marinara on top with a side salad. Perfection!!
Keep the videos coming please!! 💖 Chris
Thank you, Christine 🥰 I'll try to keep 'em coming! & yum! Raviolis are always a treat
“Me being interesting”… you are funny. I enjoy your content whether it’s about decorating or making a salad. Your commentary makes it interesting and I love your disposition.
As far as a quick and easy meal idea…rinse and pat dry canned chicken peas. Toss them with chopped carrots, vidalia or maui sweet onion and add your fave fresh minced herb (I use either cilantro, Italian parsley or in a pinch, celery leaf). You can also add chopped celery and radish as well. Mix with EVOO and fave vinegar. Now you have a high protein, whole food meal that is so filling and toothsome! If you’re feeling crazy, mix in cottage cheese!
Have a happy week Gail!
As always thank you for watching 🥰Omg yum!! Thank you for sharing the recipe!
Love your sensitivity, creativity, reality and humour 😊
Ugh wow what a comment - thank you so much 🫶
Love your videos and seeing New York in the summer!!!
Yay! Thank you, Lori!
Great few days in the life Gail - realistic and I do love it when you take us out and about with you. The yoga class in Bryant Park was epic!
Thank you for watching, Tina! And omg that yoga class was insane! Wouldn't want to necessarily partake in that one but fun to look at haha
I’m so excited to have found your channel, I love it already! Also the little fan at 1:57 is adorbs.
I'm so excited that you're here! And isn't it adorable? Here's the link if you're interested! amzn.to/3y61ra6
Hi Gail - I found you today while at work during a break OR YT sent you my way. : ) And, I just subscribed. : ) "What am I doing with my life?" pops into my head quite a bit too and I'm a lot older than you. 🤣So, you do you, and thrive and proper. : ) On my next break, I'll check out more of your content. Have a great weekend. See you next time.
H! So happy my videos found my way to you, welcome 🤗
Thanks for sharing what your job is....I woudn't have guessed photographer, editor etc! When you've previously mentioned you'd been doing the same thing for a while, I imagined accountant or something similar!! Your work sounds very interesting.
I like spending time in the office- I don't do a typically 'officey' job but we have office bases for meetings, line-management, admin etc. I need the 'discipline' of being there to make me function like a proper grown-up- but I also really appreciate the time with colleagues too.
Anyhoo, both your home and channel are doing great 😊
Thank you for sharing! I agree, time with colleagues is so important!
I absolutely love Bryant Park. One of my favorite photos is of my daughter sitting in the park, drinking her Starbucks and hugging her Eyore that she got at the Disney Store. =) (>
What a lovely memory!
Hi Gail!! Love that off the shoulder top! Very cute!! Your videos always so chill! I wirk from home since COVID. My company makes gas perm and custom soft contact lenses and I talk with eye Drs all day long taking their orders, some minor consulting, discuss materials and supplies, and enter the online orders as well. Great company to work for! ❤❤❤
Your work sounds super interesting and important! Being someone who wears contact, happy to hear the process is in good hands!
Oh and my favourite easy dinner recipe is sliced tomatoes, red onions, mozzarella and basil. Olive oil and balsamic vinegar, black pepper. I can eat that every day in summer. You can add some toasted bread with garlic or salami if you like 😍
Oh heck yes, this is my kind of meal
Hi Gail! I am watching as a Houstonian that JUST had their power restored after Hurricane Beryl. I went 6 days without power in 95F Houston heat. So I just had to chuckle at the temp you stated in NY! We literally HAVE to have A/C to live here. That said, always so happy to watch your uploads. I hope you had a great weekend. Looking forward to the jogging vlogs.
Oh my gosh, so happy to hear you have your power back but so sorry it took 6 days! Thank you so much for watching -- please try and stay cool!
I was wondering what you did for a "living'...Photography.....Nice!! Apartment is looking good
Thank you so much!
Such a great video. You are more than enough. I’m impressed with you and your work and life ethics. Thanks for the great views of New York. ❤
Such a lovely comment ♥️ thank you so much, Pam!
I subscribed!!! I’ve been watching for a bit but decided to subscribe… I love the wall in your dinning area!! I enjoyed hearing what you do for your career. I’m an abstract artist and will enjoy more of your content!
Yay!! So happy to have you here 🫶
first time watching you and ive just subscribed and added you to my list of NYC vloggers that are relatable. Keep it up!
Thank you for being here! 🥰
Beautiful! 🙋🏻♀️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🫶🏻
Thank you, Susan!!

I love dill pickles 🥒 Yum! That snap was awesome 😎
They’re the best!
Maybe you’ve heard this before but, I gotta say, you remind me so much of Elisabeth Shue when you wear your hair down.
Oh that is very kind, thank you!
Looks great video ❤
Thank you!
I still absolutely love your gallery wall.❤
Thank you so much ☺️
Omgosh, I love pickles all year around, but summer hot days are the best time to eat one. Girl I go days without leaving my house, lol 😂 I am unwell 😂
😂😂 it happens to the best of us & pickles are the besttt
This is so great what you’re doing. Another thing I just learned I have in common with you: a second career I had, aside from music as a photo editor and photo researcher. Mostly on books, some free lance magazines that led to science books. This work kind of dried up after images became available online but while living in NYC, and before the internet, this was fascinating detective work. A transitional 6 month job at the Bettmann Archive was also interesting. Where are your images used mostly? Advertising?
That sounds so interesting! I often wonder what the industry must've been like in the world before digital!
can I suggest you don't "close" your bed right after getting out, its important to allow your sheets to dry, we all sweat, before making the bed. really enjoy your vlog
Thanks for the tip! And so glad you enjoyed the video 🙂
You seem to really like eggs. One of my easy go to options is gallo pinto. Day old-old rice and black beans cooked up with peppers, onion and cilantro. Top with a fried egg and a side of avocado.
It's an easy and fast way to get protein for me haha -- definitely looking to expand my palette so thank you for sharing!
Such a great apt...I had to move from NYC because of the rent...now in upstate...People now are going after NYC like it is the worst place to live...I for one would still live there if I could...so enjoy what so much good has that no other place has!
Thank you! And it’s true, so many people hate on this city, but it offers so much!
Happy Friday, enjoyed as always
Thank you, Aubrey!
Wow really good video
Thank you!
Hi Gail Friday weekend here and it's rain again cool here England no summer yet 😢even though I don't like heat 😊
Hello! Thank you for watching 🙂 send some of that cooler weather over here!
loved it so much!
So glad!
It’s currently really cold in the UK and we’re having no summer at all. I couldn’t be more envious.
Oh wow! Is it usually cold this time of year?
Omg I take the cold anytime over the heat. I hate the summer. Can’t wait till September gets here.
@@32446 I wish it were cold instead of blistering hot 🔥 I'll trade places with you! RI in the US.
Enemies are a good thing, it means at some point in your life you stood up for something!
Ah Grand central! Such a bust will never look the same
I see what you mean… but I would hope that disagreement doesn’t necessarily mean enemies! But thank you for watching!
Gail, you need black out curtains for your bedroom. 😊
I honestly would never wake up if I had those 😅
Yeah my jeans dont come out til September. 115 here yesterday in the high desert of California.
Holy moly! Yeah I regretted my decision very quickly 😅 hope you're staying cool!
Aww pickles . . . hits different when you eat it out of a jar. I feel like your mom when I say this but. consider a meal prep co. like fresh or even misfits' market?
Ain’t nothing like a pickle straight from the jar - and I probably should consider that 😅
loved the video
Thank you! 🫶
#TunaTuesday 😂
#tunatuesday forever
How did you find such a great apartment?
My lease began in January- though there are less apartments on the market during this time… there is also less competition! That, having all of my documents ready to apply, plus some luck 🙂
Random question (this answer is prob in an older vid somewhere): where did you get the big bowl that your tuna salad was in? 😮
Oh man I got it from a HomeGoods a few years ago! The brand is primagera
@@theregoesgail Awesome - thank you so much!
@@ctygrl of course!
Hey I was watching your video and you said that you are a photographer and an editer. What do you recommend for photo editing. I am also into photography. I want to take it to the next step and have clients and so on. But the editing process???? UM? Yah, where to start? ......
Hi there! Thank you so much for watching -- it can definitely be overwhelming at first but there are many great tools out there! When I first began, Phlearn was a fantastic tool - I'd recommend his channel to anyone! www.youtube.com/@phlearn

Chelsea Callaghan ?
Love her content! Alas, I am Gail 😂
Wait do you not have ac? I don’t see a window unit. 😬
Oh gosh, I certainly do have AC and it's been running nonstop haha. They are mounted on my walls!
@@theregoesgail Phew thank goodness! It’s such a great apartment!
@@julied5444 thank you!! It’s so nice not having them block the windows 😊
How come you don’t get a pet - cat or doggie since you work from home most of time
It’s a good question! At this point I enjoy having the freedom and flexing over my own schedule - plus, my building doesn’t allow pets. But one day 🙂
Better you live there than me could not take that crowed dirty pollution new york yuke
It’s definitely not for everyone, but I still love it ☺️
