@@TheKiddingStar It's mostly industrial from the billionaires and other such things. Overall politicians just seek to push it on the consumer to distract them from everything else that truly damages the environment. Industralization, old infrustrure, airplanes, etc.
These "heroes" of the environment. Our top 1% are responsible for more pollution than all car and road transportion green house gases combined. Start asking yourself truly why they try and flip it around and make it your problem? That is a far more interesting topic.
Hydrogen powered engines have been in other countries for a long time. Everything ever proposed in the USA is strictly just to milk as much money as possible from us. We have had better tech for eons but no one cares truly. It's all just a fun little game to them.
Go get a proxy server and have fun searching Germany and Europe. It will be amazing what you can do through self education.
It's like the sheer amount of damage electric small engine equipment does. The batteries are shot and the amount of environmental damage that goes into manufacturing them is downright scary.
Also if you read the carbon emissions studies they often use small engines that never had an oil or air filter change and are on their last legs. Oil burner vehicles without full functioning.
It's all there buried in 400 page studies no normal individual wants to read. Remember articles are designed to highlight what an author wants to share from studies to prove their side of the story.
Like many things, life is never that simple. It's far more grey. The most green car is a used car, or running what you have into the ground and keeping stellar maintenance so it runs as long as possible if it bothers you. If you don't do that, you don't really have a leg to stand on.
Tesla's and similar EV's damage tires in a matter of 10,000 miles sometimes. They have to be run 100-130k miles before their batteries are shot to match the environmental damage of battery replacement. At the end of the day these things just exist to make people feel better about themselves. You don't want to feel like the villain. But none of this is ready for real time and if we examine facts they are currently not proving their worth or claim in any facet. There was a 2020 EPA study that proved exactly that and a 2022 as well. It just never ends up on the president's desk for reasons...
Also I live in the worst air quality area in the USA. A valley surrounded by mountains, pollen, mold spores, fires set to dispose of trash, mining refineries, field burning, and wildfires all make the air quality amongst the worst worldwide. Yet people think it's clean because they can't smell smog and don't understand air pollution and what damage 500ppm of wildfire smoke will do to you! 200PPM is just an average day and 300-400 is more typical.
I believe science and fact and I hate to tell you but all of it dispel's fantasy land EV's. But we have too much money tied up with political connections and money to go the other route. I'm just waiting until we get to show off technology other countries have been peddling forever 10 years from now. It's how things seem to always go.
