I have heard about it, this time however Sonic Cruiser is going to be likely to be a supersonic jumbo jet given the rapid evolution of flight services - airlines are already buying SSTs particularly from Boom Supersonic, Inc. so Boeing potentially wants two options to cover the entire airlines market; 787 and Sonic Cruiser SST. I remembered first seeing the Sonic Cruiser back in 2001 via Popular Science magazine, I would be surprised if they bring it back to life, even though it may now be much faster than its original specifications.
