This is one of my all-time vocal tracks on ANY record...methinks if Karen Carpenter were still with us in '96 when this came out she'd be liking it. Of course this song is way more than just the vocal but the low register is very Karen and beautiful in a different way. Absolutely spectacular band and song.
Coming out of a 7 year relationship, coming down off a shroom trip, listening to this song … it’s such a bitter sweet feeling. I’m so thankful for the 7 years of happiness and the chance to meet and love someone so amazing. But at the same time I don’t know what to do now :( I’ve been lost ever since. I really like this song tho. It makes me feel like maybe things will be alright.
John Peel championed this band and I thought they were shit until I heard this. Proof positive that even if you have minimal talent and an excess of pretension, you CAN end up writing a perfect pop song.

The best LA LA LA in All music history.
RIP Mary Hansen

Hey man. You're going to be alright. Life is wild man. Psilocybin can show you so many things. I hope you know you're loved fam.
I'm ok...I feel good...I can breathe...fill my soul...
This song always puts me in a good mood.
:)
I remember playing this EP in my car in 1996. Union Street, Aberdeen. Happy days.
This is the best song from the groop IMO
This just makes me feel good. Nothing like Stereolab in the universe.
One of my favorite Stereolab songs. I love playing it in my little Yamaha Reface YC and my friend on guitar.
This is the song that let me understand Mary's great talent and contribution.
I'm ok
let me go
go away
i'm alright
leave me here
go back home
i'm ok
you just go
shimmering beauty,
Really love the harmonies in this song. So catch!
The Beach Boys if they kept progressing and had two beach girls in the band.
Cette chanson me fait penser à la ville de Rouen

Obviously is not the case. Minimal talent? This group creates an entire genre and a new approach to the music.
Perhaps you are the one who lacks talent and is pretentious?
