Stereolab is one of the few bands i will take with me in the grave. Some songs just come back in my head and i become obsessed again. I wish Mary was still alive so i can hear her voice live :(
Had the pleasure of seeing them live once around 2000 or 2001 in SoCal. If I remember correctly they opened for The Charlatans. Stereolab was EPIC -- their live sound was so fresh, bright, and fun.
Classic Stereolab 'sound'. This is the sound that drew me to this band. I was a latecomer. In 2003, a 2nd hand bookstore/video game sales stored tucked in the bohemian section of Louisville. I heard this sound over their in store speakers, I went to the counter in my glee of being whisked back to childhood sounds of late '60s early 70's. I asked who it was, and upon inquiring for a copy, they said, Sorry what is playing in the store is the only copy on hand. As we left with our purchases, I opened the CD of Dots and Loops that played in the store, and inserted into my car's CD player. Yes...I demanded those lads sell their copy😆🤣😉
@@ShringoMania dots and loops is very good :) so is mars audiac, emperior tomato, margerine eclipse. heck all their stuff is great.. even Monade a sadier side project..
@@droptherapy2085 they are pretty experimental.. not genre specific, i first heard them on college radio... alternative music was new in the 90s, there were so many great bands..
Book and Music Exchange? I wasn't around for Ear-x-tacy, but it sounds like that. RIP to the bohemian section of Louisville - Highlands/Bardstown Rd Corporate interests and landlords will do that to you.
dont say such terrible and true things out loud.....its not not polite...remember poliote back then you would run into it if you saw a human back then...
Esta clase de sonido fue la que me atrajo a stereolab. Siento que esta canción reúne todos los elementos característicos de la banda, y por eso es una de mis favoritas. Ojalá pudiera haberlos visto en vivo. ❤ I’m okay, feeling good
🥹🫠❣️ Stereolab, I send u All my (Digital) Love from México. I'll keep spreading the noise & and movement that ur Music has given me in return 🎶✨🐸 Bruit éclatement 🔊 From: Guanajuato City, a place where frogs (sadly) still find it complicated to jump aboard 😅
[Verse 1] I looked at the sun through filters The heat had provoked lots of colours I took off high like a feather Blown to the ground on my shoulder [Chorus 1] You fell, are you ok? Do you need a hand? I'm ok, let me go, go away, I'm all right Leave me here, go back home, I'm ok, you just go [Verse 2] I could hear two sounds in the air The leaving steps of a guilty sister The other sound was the water I leaned and looked into the river [Chorus 2] Thanks for the favour, the world little sister I'm ok, I feel good, I can breathe, fill my soul I'm ok, feeling good, why do I swim in blood? I still think it's funny that my introduction to Stereolab was Transient Random-Noise Bursts and the Jenny Audioline EP - which were in the tossed freebie promos bin at my college radio station, which was deep into the Seattle sound at the time.

Awesome. I saw both Machine Girl and Stereolab live in the last year. Have you ever listened to Container? His latest album Yacker is like heavy garage rock sculpted out of electronic noise samples. I'm obsessed.
It's a great song, one of their best, but it would've stuck out like a sore thumb on Dots & Loops. It'd be the one short pop song on an album full of long, repetitive songs.
Does anybody know an exact release date for this? Looks similar to the "Miss Modular" MV in style so it might have been out around that time or before.
