- This video shows how to easily wire an electric radiator fan circuit into any car. This fan wiring diagram includes a fan relay, a temperature switch, and a manual on/of switch that can be used to manually turn on the fan whenever you want. This radiator fan wiring circuit is great when building a hotrod, muscle car, or anytime that you're swapping from a clutch fan to an electric fan.
The Electric Radiator Fan Relay Wiring:
- Pin 30 (Red) 12v input from battery through circuit breaker
- Pin 86 (Black) 12v power feed from ignition switch
- Pin 87 (Red) 12v relay output sending power to the fan
- Pin 85 (Brown) Ground, goes to temperature switch and on/of switch
- Pin 87A Not Used

Can you help me with a simple project idea
Where can I buy this box
i follow the diagram. but the 1 thing problem is coming cold the sensor not coming off the fan
if you have a 1 pin temp sensor how you wire it to your gauge on your dash board so you can see it on your dash with a 1 pin temp sensor?

Most importantly it's free😂😂😂😂
😂 lmao right
Working on vehicles all my life, I’ve never imagined a complete circuit laid out on a board. It’s pretty neat. Thanks for a perfectly explained video.

After having my radiator fan bust up my radiator after breaking off its mount I am upgrading from a pulley fan to an electric fan while I replace my radiator and this was exactly what I needed to help make sure I had not missed anything when installing it. Amazing work, helping people out even a year later!
Heck yeah! Sorry your radiator got trashed! But I’m glad the video helped you out! Thanks for watching!
This vid should be taught in schools, it’s perfect
Thanks! I always wanted to be a teacher, but I think I can actually teach even more people from the comfort of my own home using UA-cam. Thanks for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
If more people explained wiring like this, a lot less people would be intimidated by electrical circuits on their vehicle.
That’s awesome! Thank you so much for the kind words and taking the time to watch the video! I appreciate it!
Honestly I appreciate your professionalism and clarity on explaining this 'HOW-TO!!" After watching this video, I have no idea how anyone can mess it up. THANK YOU🤘🤘
Awesome! That’s really kind. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more wiring videos!
Trust me their are people who can still screw it up ..that's life in the mechanical world ..
I did somehow. I followed the video to a T, and it still is not working. I’m about to rip it all out and start over.

Hi Sir you have explained how everything is wired up & some guys use pin 86 as ground & pin 85 as power on the 12volt Relay & I tested the 12volt 100Amp waterproof Relay & I followed your wiring the same way as you have Sir pin 86 Pin as power & pin 85 as ground on the relay & it works really well indeed & I tested it with a led light bulb & later on I will get an 12Volt radiator electric cooling fan unit & has 2500CFM with a 90 watt electric fan motor & so should work really well to & the radiator electric cooling fan unit will be installed inside the radiator & will have straight fan blades as you get better air flow than curved electric fan blades & radiator electric cooling fans that are installed in front of the radiator don't get better cooling than a radiator electric cooling fans that are installed inside the radiator as the engine & engine components get by far better cooling when radiator electric cooling fan units are installed inside the radiator & I have seen on Utube some of the guys have installed the radiator electric cooling fan units have installed them in the front of the radiator & one particular Utube channel has installed a very big radiator electric cooling fan unit & has installed in the front of the radiator & because he couldn't install it inside the radiator as there was no room to install the electric fan unit & having unit probably could get cooling but the is a smaller radiator electric cooling fan unit installed at the front of the radiator & probably wouldn't get that much cooling as it would be installed inside the radiator & probably also didnt have the room to install the electric fan unit that I'm getting will be inside the radiator & the 14"inch fan should work really well to & having 2500CFM air flow should keep everything nice & cool for the Toyota 3.4V6 engine & doing away with the clutch fan unit Kind Regards Peter & have a Lovely Nice Christmas Day Sir

Im watching this video to figure out how to wire up 2 12 inch fans with the same volts and watts as the one u have there. Got my sub.
Excellent! I’m glad that you found the video helpful! Thanks for watching!
3 years ago my truck caught fire because of a pretty bad wiring work. I decided not to give up on her and worked hard to bring her back to life... and I succeeded mechanically speaking. However, I had been always scared of dealing with electricity and wires because nobody was patient enough to explain things to me like if I was a 5 yes old kid... that was until I found your channel. Thanks to you I was not only able to completely wire my rig - rock crawler - but I have now understood the reasons behind every connection... Honestly, I cannot find the proper words which can emphasize my deep appreciation and gratitude to you... Thank you for sharing your knowledge...
That is incredibly awesome! Thank you so much for sharing this with me. It totally made my day! I’m glad you and others are finding my videos helpful! Thank you so much for watching and hopefully my videos continue to help keep the cool projects going!

This is what I miss since I have moved abroad people with skills that know what they are on about. I won't say where I live but most of the electricians here can't even read a drawing they should watch your channel and learn I will do this myself after watching this cheers.
Thank you! I’m glad that you find the video & the channel helpful! Tell the electricians in the area to watch my channel too ;)
@@WiringRescue yes I will though I think I will do this myself as they don't solder and use heat shrink. They just twist wires together and use electrical tape because it cost too much or have no solder skills and some don't even know about heat shrink 😳
@@kanenstuff - wow! You may also want to check out the uninsulated crimp connections. I use them and they work well, especially covered in shrink wrap. Good luck with your project!
@@WiringRescue thanks I will check that out as I am restoring a BMW E36 325i here and most of it is doing the dodgy wiring.

Thank you. This is the best and most understandable wiring schematic without any unneeded filler information I’ve ever seen.
Thanks for taking the time to put this tutorial together. It's simple and easy to understand. Much appreciated.👍👍

Man i appreciate all of your diy videos they are easy to follow and great in detail. Thanks for the time and effort you put in.
Wow! Thank you! I really appreciate that! Thank you for watching!!
THANKS THAT IS AN EXCELLENT VIDEO, AS IT IS I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY FAN NOT ALLWAYS COMING ON, NOW I'LL KNOW HOW TO OVERIDE OR HOW TO DIAGNOSE PROPERLY. I DON'T TAKE MY CARS TO MECHANICS, BECAUSE THEY ALLWAYS STARTS BY REPLACING THE MOST EXPENSIVE PARTS, AND THEN FIND OUT THERE WAS A LOOSE WIRE ALL ALONG AFTER SPENDING YOUR YEAR'S SALARY. MY DAD WAS A MECHANIC AND TAUGHT ME TO START CHEAP AND WORK UP, IF YOU WANT TO FIX SOMETHING, NOT LIKE THE GARAGES NOW WHO WANTS TO REPLACE YOUR ENGINE WHEN YOU'VE GOT A MISS FIRE.
This is the best explanation of this on UA-cam. Laying out on the board like that was inspired! Thank you.
Awesome demonstration! I am not watching to gain the knowledge for automotive reasons (although now I know), instead I am searching for a clever no-solder solution to the always on tiny 24v cooling fan for the hotend of my 3D Printer. Your simple explanation of how relay circuits work really helped in figuring out the different hardware, how they interact, & how to wire it WITH A BYPASS to boot! Thanks again! 😊
Heck yes! That sounds awesome. 3D printing is something I’d love to get into, but I just haven’t dropped the cash yet!
Clear, concise & to the point. You make the understanding of this subject extremely easy & enjoyable.

Probably one of the best(not seen them all) descriptions and displays of how to wire up an after market fan. VERY well explained and demonstrated...Cheers..
Keep them coming you do a great job with electrical wiring which you make it seem very simple It’s kinda like water flowing through a pipe.
i love the way you show this in a real life diagram.....Great Job in the way you show this!

I was doing a random search on the electrical side of the cooling system and found your excellent presentation as I was about to give up. Needless to say, I've subscribed. Because you've not only clarified a suspicion I had, you've also taught me enough to go through the circuit in a logical way. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you!!

In the Toyota radiator fan cooling system (and some other brands as well), the temp. sensor is grounded when it's cold, in case the sensor goes bad, the fan will stays on as long as the ig switch is on/engine running to prevent the car from overheating.

Thanks for posting this!!! Really appreciate your professional demo board. Sure makes it easier to understand how all that wiring ect comes together.
