Thank you Lance Armstrong. You know a lot about Eritrea now.cycling is number one.if you see The capital city Asmara people are so happy they are celebrating bini's stage win.
At this time, the meaning focus is Tour de france titles. But if you search in tour China, there is another green jersey by Henok Muluebrhan. So Eritrea 🇪🇷 have so many talents❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lance was like a God in Eritrea , you were the God of Eritrean cycling fans . It was a time where your name and poster was all over Eritrean cities . The day you land in Eritrea the government will be required to let people free from work because the city will be locked up to see your face . Many people have the face Pantani and many other greats . Eritrea is the best place to trace back the cycling greats .
Lance Amstron the day that you vist Eritrea. You will meet alot of your Big fans there and you will very very Happy to be there, and it Will be an amazing for you 100%. I know many People will run after you 😂😂you will see i swear.❤❤ we love you so much. Your Big Fan from Asmera Eritrea Meron Thanks
I remember watching the Giro years ago when the entire peloton stopped in a town where one of the riders was from to eat pastries made by his family. Such a cool thing to happen.
The great Lance Armstrong talking about Eritrea. We all watched you growing up and you would be amazed at what cycling means to a lot of people in Eritrea. Go to Eritrea and watch Sunday local races! You won't regret it!!
Hey guys, thank you for starting this podcast, dedicated to cycling around the world, as an African and cyclomeniac, I’m so proud of Biniam Girmay. Lots of people don’t know this, but biking is such big part of lots of African countries, across the continent as an everyday transportation from Generation through generation. If you travel to some African countries, it’s very usuel to see women with baby on their back and a load of wood on their head riding a bikes… and wanted to point out that Ethiopia (Eritrea) is the only country in Africa that was not colonized
Abrahamsen guested the Danish tour studio and the 20kg is confirmed. He was super skinny/small and when he started to eat more and embrace his body type more, he began to grow in height and gain more chest hair and so on. His own theory was that his body needed the fuel to start his body growth again
Agree with Lance. The TdF doesn't need to add gravel because it's popular now (I say as someone with a gravel bike). A rider getting hurt or losing time due to a fluke puncture from gravel doesn't make the Tour better.
julick raced in NorCal when he was left w/out a sponsor for a brief period...got away with one other...but when he went on the final climb I tried to follow for about 2 min...he was on a tear....nice guy. He was young 20's I was 42..good memory
@@adventuresona700dollarhard5 check your history friend. The first 20 years of the tour was in the early 1900’s. They didn’t have paved roads over the majority of the country. It’s just fact. The push to pave roads started in the 1950’s. Facts.
In agree with Lance about the gravel. The TDF is a 'road' race and at a stretch, you can make a case for having the odd stage that includes one or two cobbled sections but gravel? Methinks the UCI is trying too hard to be popular / innovative. If any the main tour contenders has a crash or a mechanical because of the gravel sections - then the UCI will have compromised the result of this year's tour. IMO it's a bad idea and one which the team's should be collectively pushing back on, otherwise what's next - a stage where all the riders have to race on a uni-cycle!! Gravel in the tour = bad idea!
Lance would have hated this if he was riding for GC. But at least the man is humble enough to admit IT MIGHT BE DOPE! Lance was the OG Ricki Bobby "If you ain't first your last" Love the show.
Hey guys, Have been following the Tour for 25 yrs and is it my imagination? I don’t see feeding stations with bags. I remember the days of sandwiches and cans of coca cola? Has the nourishment just gotten more sophisticated? Never miss a pod… Dicky

AMAZING FACTS ABOUT ERITREAN CYCLING. 1- 105,000 tickets was sold out for the final stage of 1997 Tour of Eritrea. 2-The Eritrean National Championship always has around 5500 spectators at the finish line(Stadium like Public Square) 3- Cycling is National Sport of Eritrea.🇪🇷
It’s nice they returned to the Eritrean cycling history which the guys didn’t know the other day… also, soccer players are whiners 🎯 coming from a die hard soccer fan!
Like George said yesterday. Only 20% of the field aren't coasting in the TT, so to fine one of the guys kissing his family in his hometown while he's also coasting is embarrassing.

I saw that Litespeed TT bike painted in Trek livery at John Cobb's shop in Shreveport, LA. chained to the wall many years ago.
Hyped for the gravel stage. Change of pace keeps it exciting.
Armstrong am fun of you , I’m extremely proud when I heard you talking about my younger brother, and my country thank you 🙏

Love this show, Greeting from Eritrea 🇪🇷
Very excited about Wiggo. I have missed his insight into the Tour. 🎉❤
Cycling is so strong in eritrea even biniam girmay in the last two years couldn't win the Eritrean championship
He actually said that it’s harder to win Eritrean champion than a TDF stage. FACT
As a South African I know there’s Louis Meintjes… and he came 2nd behind Pidcock at Alpe d’huez in 2022

Gravel = Gimmick. The UCI should fine itself for putting Road Cycling in a bad way.
Don't be a knob. Lots of stages were gravel, particularly the mountain stages. This is old school.
Don’t be a douche bag. Almost the r tire tour was on dirt roads for the first 20 years. If a cyclist can ride gravel then they are tool bags.
Most of the Tour was gravel 😂
So Strade Bianche is a gimmick?

Remco had issues on the gravel when Bernal won the Giro. Ineos and others upped the pace and distanced him.
