Guys~I CANNOT say this enough. Thank you so much for having Ned on there...man what a great show!!!! Loved his insight into the bts of tours. Let's get a TdF photographer or staff in the future.
Ned Bolting is awesome. I’ve heard his voice so much over the years! Being here in the US, I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen him. Kudus and chapeau.
A truly fascinating and educational discussion of cycling broadcasting with Ned. I am an avid cycling fan and always appreciate what the broadcasters bring to the events that I love, however, Ned was able to bring a perspective from his experiences that I had not ever considered. Huge props to the Cade Media team for this special episode. After the 2025 TdF, Eurosport would be well-served to add Ned to their broadcast team and pay him anything he wants.
Ah thank you so much Emily & Jimmi. What an absolute delight of an hour or so of prime Ned, brilliant insights & great anecdotes. Been watching Francis and now Cade for years now and never commented before but this was just brilliant. Thank you.
It's been a minute, but I bought 1923, and finished it tonight. What an incredible set of stories, vignettes, photos, individuals, history lessons, lit and lore. This EP66 podcast, the 2.5 min 1923 video, and then this labor of love study of it, were quite a gift. Thanks very much for having Mr Boulting on. His research, and knowledge of the past 100+ years, is formidable. Terrific. Thanks.
Ned nailed it, took interest in the ITV coverage , then got more interest in other races and wanted to watch it so took up a then gcn racing subscription. I think without that initial interest I wouldn’t have progressed on to further interest. Always get a passing interest from kids/wife too for TDF. So that will go.
Yeah same here! Went from ITV occasionally tuning in, so then watching it religiously. Moving to a GCN+ subscription (RIP) and now Eurosport. ITV is certainly the gateway into spectating the sport. It's an interesting take to see how it affects discovery/Eurosport future subscriptions.
Ned has been on my telle every year since I was 3 years old, his voice is inseparable in my mind from from the amazing itv tour theme, the heroic 2010s montages to the sound of anthemic euro house, motorbike footage of crowds parting on D'Huez, basically everything I picture when I think about why I love cycling. He's a national treasure, he must have been a huge part in inspiring a literal generation (25 years!!!?) to get on road bikes, and that we won't have his voice coming out of millions of TVs in high summer after 2025 is the saddest thing I've heard all year. Truly the greatest hype merchant ever
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful having Ned on. Gutted I missed his show AGAIN when it came to town. Excellent, keep the guest bar high. Boardman? Hoy? Matt Stephens off Eurosport? Lemond (whom I am told is lovely)
A great interview. Ned is so interesting and eloquent (and knowledgeable) that he has the wonderful ability of informing/changing your own opinions. Nice work by the interviewers too. Loved it
Ned was fantastic. He’s right in what he says about ITV being a gateway to Eurosport as I’m not sure I would have a discovery plus subscription had I not fallen in love with our sport in the early 2000’s thanks to ITV’s coverage. Plus the ITV highlights jingle is iconic 🙌🙌
What a brilliant episode. I loved every minute. I often thought about the similarity of the early TdF and modern gravel races. We need a time machine in cycling.
That was such an interesting and informative episode. Not in UK, so don't see Ned, but OMG, I hope for you all that he gets another round of commenting TdF, because he was so good listening to.
I saw Ned on stage last night doing his brilliant show and asked him to the "It's done! It's done! The story is finally complete!" live on stage and he acquiesced. Legend.
What a show and what a great Guest?! I'm not from the UK, but Ned, all the best to you! Hope you will stay in biking TV industry at least, till you get bored with it! Thanks for this episode!
Being someone who never watches pro-cycling I am more familiar with Ned from the Streetsahead podcast along side Laura Laker and Adam Tranter. As an amateur rider I find the topics they talk about much more relevant to me. Great to have him on =)
Enjoyed that. I hope there is some sort of "highlights" for TV. I hope that Ned and Gary know that they are well liked and respected for their presentation of the TDF for arm chair racers like myself.
I went to the 2017 Bikeology and I found Ned's programme enthralling and this has been by far for me the best Wild Ones cast,...I even hung around for the rated section lol. Being of the 1970's and 1980's BMXing/Road Cycling era and involved with forums that covered these it's usual to refer to pre 1979/8 as the vintage era, and post years up to approx 1986 as old school...but that might just be my age.
Fantastic episode! I have some very long range photos of him interviewing Geraint Thomas on the final stage of the Tour in 2014. He was on the opposite side of the Champs Elysees from me.
It's very sad there isn't going to be any ITV coverage, the team are so knowledgable and articulate in their commentary, as much as I appreciate Sean Kelly's achievements in cycling, "it's a difficult one" is in nearly every sentence he speaks. My ideal team would be ITV, Carlton and Phil Liggett.
Well, I'm halfway through this UA-cam episode, and I'm enthralled by Ned Boulting and the way that Cade Media ( that's yourself and 'Emily the producer') are engaging in this production. I've never really been a fan of Ned Boulting really, but, I've got to say, he has opened my eyes to the professional trials & tribulations that they face, with regard to the footage that they are supplied with. I was at the Tour Of Britain , pre stage 1, stage show this year. I was not really impressed with the performance of Ned. David & Peter, that evening, but I've now been educated to a more informed appreciation of what's involved. Great stuff Cade Media, and am now a Ned Boulting fan.👍
I hope Ned gets a gig for the 2026 Tour. I'm not even a UK dweller, so I don't watch the ITV telecast. But he's been chilling it for over 20 years. People really like him. i remember reading a magazine article in a UK cycle magazine in I guess 2014(we used to get UK cycle mags here in Australia at some Newsagencies, and I was a fan). It s about how Ned Boulting gained his love of cycling, and it was via that ITV gig. Need never given cycling a second thought prior to that. Just like Australian tradesmen. They hate cyclists and cycling until they ride a bike through injury recovery or loss of licence. I don't know if Ned was that extreme, but Aussie tradesmen often are.
I tuned in because Ned was on. Very enjoyable performance. I started liesure riding again after watching Rominger and Idurain slogging up the alps on the Ligget and Sherwin show. Its interesting that Ned felt lonely during lock down, not being allowed to go out with his mates. Being out of the social round is difficult as so many found. Some of us have autism, or neuro-divergence as some like to call it. I call it socially challenging because we are wired differently to others and so often find ourselves socially excluded simply because we have difficulty with all those little nuances of speech and so on that others do instinctively. So we get a life long lock down. Its strange that wheel chair users get ramps and lifts but we get distain and rejection, not to mention misunderstood. I don't suppose it will ever change but if you ever meet someone who is odd in conversation don't think them wierd or evil, just a bit different and make allowances for that difference.
Ned = National Treasure Status. No question. Brilliant to see him on the show. Thanks!
Guys~I CANNOT say this enough. Thank you so much for having Ned on there...man what a great show!!!! Loved his insight into the bts of tours. Let's get a TdF photographer or staff in the future.
That was fantastic, very knowledgeable man, hopefully you'll have him back.
Ned Bolting is awesome. I’ve heard his voice so much over the years! Being here in the US, I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen him. Kudus and chapeau.
I have Eurosport and have always made the the effort to watch the itv coverage. The theme tune is great and the commentary is the very best.
Eurosport needs that jingle with their TDF coverage, nothing builds the hype quite like it!
Honestly same, it's been on the telle since I was 4 and it's never stopped inspiring that very very specific tour overwhelming excitement
What a FANTASTIC episode. Ned comes across so well and so down the earth. May the future hold the very very best for him. He deserves it
Ah thank you so much Emily & Jimmi. What an absolute delight of an hour or so of prime Ned, brilliant insights & great anecdotes. Been watching Francis and now Cade for years now and never commented before but this was just brilliant. Thank you.
The old footage of the Tour is INCREDIBLE 😱 wow
yep! amazing
It's been a minute, but I bought 1923, and finished it tonight. What an incredible set of stories, vignettes, photos, individuals, history lessons, lit and lore. I had the pleasure of meeting Ned at a recent work related bike ride. He was a real gent and very funny.

Off to see Ned tonight on his book tour, this is the perfect warm up! What a great catch for the podcast.
Good luck

Ned is a full on dude, great podcast , one of the best so far
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful having Ned on. Gutted I missed his show AGAIN when it came to town. Excellent, keep the guest bar high. Boardman? Hoy? Matt Stephens off Eurosport? Lemond (whom I am told is lovely)
I've enjoyed each of the episodes you guys have put out, but this one was a step above. Well done!
What a fantastic podcast , the passion that Ned shows towards the sport comes so through
Fantastic Neddage. I could listen to him talk about the sport all day. Thank you for making it happen.
Best podcast you guys have done . Informative, entertaining and a very pleasant watch. Thank you.
Excellent show and what a great guest in Ned. he is as you say the voice of the Tour and will be missed after next year
A great interview. Ned is so interesting and eloquent (and knowledgeable) that he has the wonderful ability of informing/changing your own opinions. Nice work by the interviewers too. Loved it
Thank you Cade Media. This was absolute gold! What a legend Ned!
Thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Some of Ned's experiences and insights were (are) fascinating. I've shared this podcast with a few friends...
Could listen to Ned all day long, what a nice guy
Well done guys for getting him in
I'm not even into road racing per se, but this guy has been your most fascinating and interesting guest on this show so far, imo.
This was awesome and so interesting - thanks for putting this together and to Ned for taking part 👌
So good to hear Neds perspective fantastic to see him on the show, well done all! 😃
Fabulous interview. I could listen to Ned all day.
Such a brilliant show and made so by Ned and his knowledge.
An amazing episode, possibly the best ever. Thank you!
Wow, NED, love that guy! Been listening to him for years!! ❤️
Saw Ned in Edinburgh last Sat doing his one man show - absolutely superb, a great entertainer. Well done for having him on the show.
Glorious. Ned is a national treasure

wow, what a fascinating episode! thank you, Ned. And all the team of course!
Absolutely agree with Ned on mountain and points jerseys. Thank you all for doing this program.
I saw Ned on stage last night doing his brilliant show and asked him to the "It's done! It's done! The story is finally complete!" live on stage and he acquiesced. Legend.
Easily the best podcast yet. Great guest... TDF Hommes
100% right to make the link to women's sport as well, Emily.
What a great episode. Thank you all for your work!
Wow, such a great episode to listen to. Ned is such a great storyteller and he's quite choice with his lexicon describing everything too.
This is a fantastic interview with Ned. Just loved it. Sorry I couldn’t catch his show.
Love this. Ned is superb. His 1923 book is brilliant and thoroughly recommend it. I’m sad to see itv loose the TDF rights.
What a show and what a great Guest?! I'm not from the UK, but Ned, all the best to you! Hope you will stay in biking TV industry at least, till you get bored with it! Thanks for this episode!
Ned should be on thumbnail...he's been robbed
Agreed, fluff up of the week.
Agreed , they'd rather have LA the confirmed cheat on thumbnail than their guest..wtf
He is? Nedeed in every podcast 😊
What about Rob?
Huge oversight 😢
Being someone who never watches pro-cycling I am more familiar with Ned from the Streetsahead podcast along side Laura Laker and Adam Tranter. As an amateur rider I find the topics they talk about much more relevant to me. Great to have him on =)
Wonderful episode - thank you.
I’m so going to miss the TDF music. (And the free coverage and excellent commentary.)
Great show with Ned, really interesting stories and adds a different perspective on all things cycling. Well done Cade Media❤
Amazing!! This has made my day, Ned bloody Boulting!! ❤❤❤

such a sweet and smart discussion! Really great!
Enjoyed that. I hope there is some sort of "highlights" for TV. I hope that Ned and Gary know that they are well liked and respected for their presentation of the TDF for arm chair racers like myself.

An Aussie here and Ned is awesome. More of Ned please!
Brilliant podcast and guest, yet again! Thank you.
Amazing show this week!! So riveting!! Well done!
Great episode. Ned is very insightful, interesting conversation!
Thankfully all the grand tours and monuments are still free to air in Australia, on our best channel SBS.
A great show team 👊🏼
Incredibly interesting man to listen to. Great podcast 👏
What an entertaining and informative episode! Well done Guys!👍
The problem with not showing tdf on tv means cycling might go down the road of cricket and become invisible and not expose to young people
Brilliant and fascinating interview. Thanks for this!
Fantastic episode! I have some very long range photos of him interviewing Geraint Thomas on the final stage of the Tour in 2014. He was on the opposite side of the Champs Elysees from me.
What a great interview 10/10....
OMG .. Ned Boulting 😮
Fair play 👏👏
If you haven't read his books, please please read them. What a legend and an absolute score for cade media. X

Yes more of Ned Boulting please
Great episode! Saw Ned's show in Leeds last week, really good.
This was fantastic thank you
lovely guest!
What a splendid guest.
Nice and chill interview. Loved it.
Brilliant episode, looking forward to seeing Ned in Canterbury. Thanks.

Bloody love Ned. Yes please.
Loving this episode.

Stellar episode ❤
what is a miracle in that footage - it's a proper modern gravel race. True gravel race on true gravel roads!
Good show. I read Ned's book last year, great story!!!! Good to actually see some of the film! Thanks.
Ned, what a legend.
Fantastic show.
