This is a wild one and lots of time left of the table.
Front left shock seized in full soft and the car was just bouncing through t4. Two wheels on track are a line as well, right?
The most beautiful telemetry I have seen in my life.
I'm hoping to get one these next year and this video got me even more excited for it.
Amazing sound!
I'm surprised at how little temp is generated under braking compared to cornering or acceleration. Very cool video, nice work!
I think the surface is not heating up under braking cause the tires are not slipping. Locking up or heavy ABS use should be a lot more visible. A flat spotted tire would totally show up in the thermal view.
Thanks man, I hope to have better and more educated answers in the future :)
The tire temp overlay is amazing!
I hope it all makes sense. I reorganized and trimmed it down a lot.
What software are you using the render the tire data?
@@JohnATamplin RaceRender but I made a bunch of custom scripts.
Cool - willing to share them? I haven't set my TireX up and I also use RaceRender.
@@JohnATamplin I am looking forward to sharing them later. Since a lot of custom channels are used and RaceRender is kinda outdated, manual script editing will be required to get it working. It`s not one of those easy drag-and-drop gauges as of right now but I hope I can make it more manageable in the long run
Do you find that tire temp graphic useful to actually guage tire core temp for setup evaluation, or is it more just to see if you overdriving a corner? I assume it's metering with infrared sensors?
Yep, it`s infrared. I`m just starting to use it and I`m not really good at it yet. What I found every helpful so far though is to look up the temps and the temp-spread post trackday. I find it super hard to get good temp data at the track by myself with a pyrometer. This way I collect all the data and can look at it whenever I want. One thing I found for example is that 325 tires on 18x11 is way too much. I can´t get them up to heat and if I add more PSI they will bulge. It´s actually quite visible in this video if you look closely. The red line shows the average temperature and you can see how bad it is. At the prior event I was using 315 and had even heat distribution. I would have never known how bad it is without this setup. There is a lot more in this and it will take some time to learn it.
@@Badger_S197 wouldn’t just lowering the pressures on the 325s help?
@@DruNicholsMD in hindsight totally! I got figure out a way to easily get the same data on track to do that there right away. Lots to learn.
what did you or do you use to monitor the tire temps and pressure like that?
Which car your prefer on streets of willow? Mustang or miata?
I think it`s a toss on this track. The Mustang is wilder but the Miata is nimbler and more challenging under braking but rotates fantastic. I´d say CCQ the Mustang and CW the Miata, but not by much.
@@Badger_S197 i see.. fast laps.
What kind of emgime work do you have done to this? Is it the 4.6 or 5.0. What engine mods. That car absolutely rips. Nice driving.
