If you don't like it when video game companies permanently shut down online games that you paid for and you bought a copy of Ubisoft's The Crew, you might be able to help do something about it. Just follow this link:

Here's what's going on.
Ubisoft just shut down The Crew's servers, rendering the game unplayable despite the fact that the game was sold as a digital product with no implied time limit on functionality. Ross Scott, creator of the @Accursed_Farms UA-cam Channel, has initiated a campaign to make government bodies around the world alerted to Ubisoft's potential breaking of consumer laws. Anyone who can prove they purchased a copy of The Crew can follow the instructions in the link provided to contact whichever governing body is relevant to their region and request that they hold Ubisoft accountable for rendering their product unusable after the point of sale. You can watch his video for more details.

Take your time! Your vids are amazing and we'll stick with you till you die.... In minecraft....
Okay then
Based
Don’t harass spread this message after readng fully
Ubisoft actually is scamming people for example growtopia they recently stole money i never paid and never gave it back basically taking my first 5k dollars from my parents card without given password permission just recently it even happens with titles ingame you buy from them any title bought will be taken at random even if you buy the items to risk and earn it it happens
In general ubisoft is considered a scamming company on growtopia being like cry baby scenario when the moderators are caught banning falsely and not refunding the money that you buy ingame currency with that infact breaks some laws
(i cant sue even after they also took 5k $ from me due to little to no money) i recommend never buying anything they got unless you got a authentication service thing or they just ban you take money off your credit card with false payments after your banned saying you bought the money (note)
After you get banned they blame you for getting banned once you paid the money saying you wont get it back over false allegations and claims
In general watch people and see who gets banned the same reason if it happens a-lot more thats evidence
People keep gathering info on this sort of issue it will help others
I thought this video was about your crew if you had one and I was very confused
I honestly wish there were LAWS that said something like "If you have sold a game or it has paid content in it then it is your RESPONSIBILITY to either keep it available for sale and at least playable in single player until you go under or if you do not it is now considered Freeware and you HAVE to make all content for it free and easily accessible and available for all and in both cases must give the community the means to keep it playable in your stead."
Spoken like somebody who knows jack n' shit about game development. Bravo
Honestly True but You know thats not how games work
If its no longer selling? Its gonna be shut down
Nintendo did shut down the 3DS and WiiU servers yesterday
So yeah
But THIS is different since it actually violates Laws
@@shashummga3477 And you missed my point. My point is we need laws to protect games and ensure they are preserved and in an easily accessible and playable state, ensure that no company can just unperson a game either through apathy or malice.
note this isn’t exactly the true issue (related probably) but ubisoft has actually been scamming people who paid money in another game (growtopia) last few events one if you buy enough to get a title they never gave it to you i got the thanksgiving title and an anniversary title in the games they never gave it to me even in event scores so im pretty sure ubisoft has to kinda pay the money they never gave us back by law or its just basically scamming money from people and not giving the stuff probably a similar issue to this but related in a way also sometimes you never received the money promised ingame due to an employee being like you never paid even with evidence shown
@@seantaggart7382 there are people who are developing a WiiU/3DS online replacement. So far Nintendo isn’t trying to stop them. I think these sorts of projects should fall under the “Right to Repair” laws as they are restoring lost functionality.

WE. 👏 ARE. 👏 BACK. 👏
Not for long if you know anything about Jake Eyes’s upload schedule
Yeah I know! He always starts posting videos when a new episode is coming up
YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@riffraff7942well hello again
That ending scene with all the dead games hit hard for no reason at all.
Lawbreakers 😭
Jake eyes is single handedly carrying the Minecraft community.
Imagine you buy a loaf of bread from the supermarket but then the owners say the bread is not 'profitable', come to your house and blow up the bread because they think it won't appeal to future bread customers
That’s different because they don’t destroy every instance of that bread and you can just get another brand of bread. Games are unique experiences. You can’t replace a game.

This is why I hate the Live Service model. You don't even get to permanently keep a copy of the game, it just gets ripped away from you.
Though ONE game is doing it right
*Helldivers*
Its great
Sure when it shuts down? It shuts down but perhaps a replay mode is possible
But who knows?
tf2 despite being live service is completely playable hosting your own server
@@HHHjb_it doesn’t count though as the game can still played if there’s interest for it which ofc it does since it’s one of the most iconic valve games
@@staringcorgi6475 valve bias located(I spent 500+ usd on tf2 for reference but even I know tf2 has issues, part of it being the guinea pig of valve games, another part of it being neglected from july 2017 to july 2023

Rest In Peace The Crew.
The racing game that I never played because I don't enough money to buy a console.
you know it's serious when jake eyes does a minecraft animation about it
My local GameStop still has an Xbox One copy of this game sitting on the shelf. I had no idea that physical releases of games that can't be played without connecting to the server even existed. That's messed up.
Thanks, Jake!
There is a reason you are one of my favorite UA-camrs because you care so much about others more than you, from your usual videos, to concerning videos like this, and I say amen to that!
It's been sometime, I missed ya
your style of making minecraft animations is just incredibly good, I wish I could elaborate but the only thing I can add is that it's seamless
also that ending with the skeletons reminds me of medieval tapestries and whatnot
Wasn't expecting you to make a vid addressing this, but I'm so glad you did :)
Looks like UA-cam finally decided to actually tell me when you upload videos! I've been watching you since 2018, and it's nice to see you upload.
By the way... I think you should keep uploading smaller skits like this if you're interested. It'd be an easier, shorter way of making content between massive videos, (50 ways).
I'm sure everyone would love them, and like this video, it's a great way to spread a message. Anyway, it was nice seeing you again. Cheers!
#stopkillinggames
That's an idea I've considered, but it would take time away from the 50 Ways videos, which is what people seem to want most and already take a really long time to make. Making this video put production on the next 50 Ways video back by 5 days, although I might have been able to finish it in 3 if it weren't for me having to fix my car and the eclipse.
@@Jake_Eyes I hope your car is working fine now.
Ah yes, the pain of losing a game that could have just been kept online. I felt this with Feral. RIP
Smiling Friends CEO
I like seeing these types of videos from you. Sure, many people recognize you as the 50WtDiM guy, but I think it is also nice to see videos that express your strong opinions about what matters to you and possibly your fanbase as well. Keep it up!
Nice vid always like these.
I was thinking about you Jake Eyes, you and your people making your videos.
I wish the best for all of you and to know you all better.!
Long time no see, Jay!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 That scene was pretty great!
Hilarious and upsetting that Ubisoft chose not to save that poor guy from sinking. And hey, he said he wasn't strong enough to save him. Somehow, I don't believe that!
But no, even if he really wasn't strong enough, then one of those things could've helped:
1- A crane
2- A pickup truck
3- A chain wrapped around a tree
And he said, he didn't notice those, because he was busy drinking a slushy. The look on his face about that makes me realize that that was definitely a lie
With all that being said, again, great video, Jay. Hope you bring out Part 17 soon
yooo it's been a minute!! miss your content! :D
HES BAAACK
Thanks for spreading the message
Finally, you're back!!!
(i'm not forcing you to make more 50WTDIM videos, just asking you're alive)
Even though Jake eyes stopped uploading, Ill always be a fan
Welcome back!
And with an important message!
This is why physical CAN NOT be allowed to die
Even then though used games give nothing to the publishers and all to the seller so pirating the game is no different in the eyes of the corporation

Hello Jake its good that you dont forget about us!
i was not expecting a video about The Crew, but i'm all for it
I loved the crew 😢
Thank you Jake Eyes, very unexpected video, tysm
4 days late but gotta love how games are mishandled.
Happy Birthday!! 🎂
WHOS FUCKING IDEA WAS IT TO SHUT THE SERVERS DOWN!? IVE SUNK ~$100 ON THIS GAME AND ITS GONE. EVERYTHING. All the cars I bought? Gone. All my progress? Gone. What the hell ubisoft!? A giant gaming company couldn’t ever patch the game to be offline? What the hell.
With the video title as it is, i thought it was gonna be a video essay.
I really need to look at the video length more often.
Welcome back!
In a nutshell, fuck Ubisoft.
Its always a good day when jay uploads
Bring these back for the next 50 ways (if we get another).
- Being The Crew.
- Being Ubisoft. (Ubisoft guy gets pushed into the quicksand)
- Being the 3DS (3DS representation disappears)
- Being mad at Nintendo for shutting down the 3DS services. (Angry players get blown up by Mario)
And the outrage hit the fans immediately a lot of positive reviews for the crew 2 were quickly changed complaining about how much time they have before they decide to cancel to as well and they have a point
One thing, I wish Atlas Reactor was included in the list at the end. It was an amazing and unique game.
I don't quite know how much Club Penguin counts since it was technically free to play, and the paid memberships generally lasted no longer than a year (as far as I remember)...but I miss that game, and I'm certain I'm still not alone on that!
Club Penguin Island didn't even come close; Club Penguin Rewritten was fun, but it wasn't a full substitute; I might have heard of other private servers that might still be operational to some extent, but I'm not sure if I trust them to be reasonably secure or stable anymore.
Would it be possible to expand the "Stop Killing Games" effort to bring more online games back from the dead like this?
there was a offline mode found in the games code but it was never really added
I never played The Crew, but I do know a few people who did. You've represented both parties perfectly
Someone needs to tell Ross Scott about this. I hear he has very strong opinions on this sort of thing!
HI JAY!!
Should've done what Polyphony did with GT Sport, give it an offline patch
Glad to see Jake eyes is a Ross Scott fan
0:25 dude went: "then what would that be?"
He is back
0:25 Ubisoft: Had cranes and hooks and a chain conveniently ready at their disposal.
0:33 Also Ubisoft: Didn't notice because it was drinking their milkshake they more conveniently had.
0:39 Also Also Ubisoft: Didn't even need to keep it's eyes or head on the milkshake to drink it.
Couldn't save him?

Yo, we also just had 3DS and Wii U online servers shut down.

I started with the crew 2
Then they made one final season...
And then I had to upgrade to moterfest...
But hey, at least that now has electric vehicles!

Someone ought to propose a law to make it illegal to outright revoke licenses for paid software, even if it’s discontinued. This would be like if Adobe started revoking Flash licenses because they didn’t officially support Flash anymore.
is it just me or did anyone else not recieve a notification for this upload?
I WILL MISS THIS GAME
Man was like bye
Man, why do devs keep making games depending on stupid online? Mad Max was my first rage about this and a good example. One of the trophies needs you to have online conection, but since the servers shut down, the only way to get it is by downloading an 100% save file. Or maybe GTA 5 on PS3. Online got shut down bot you need online trophies to platinum it...if you want to do that for some reason lol.
He's BACK!!!
HE BACK
This the channel that made 100 ways to die in mc?
god i hope this actually does something
Expected it to be the breakup of the JakeEyes crew, which would’ve scared me.
The crew sank into the quicksand!😱
Not a fan of the crew, never played the crew, not in to racing games in general, but yeah, this behavior needs to stop, even if a game is bad, no game deserves to get shelved like this. this is a problem with most always online games, but not online games are also vulnerable, so I deffidently want to push towards video game preservation. its just so frustratingly ironic that game publishers, the people that help these devs make the games are the ones that help out the least.
Ubisoft: "Would you like a The Crew: Motosports?"
(you see a cold raw unfiltered gruel)
*This taste like SLOP! GO BANKRUPT!*
What happened back then?
Is that GallantGaming voicing an Ubisoft developer?
No, it's Jake Eyes voicing a representation of Ubisoft's management. I imagine the actual developers would probably want to keep The Crew from disappearing.
@@Jake_Eyes oh ok

I feel like this is what happened with Rayman when Rabbids were introduced
The USA map was incredible, it took a big part of the 7 year development, all gone in just a decade due to corporate greed. The Crew 2 and Motorfest aren't even comparable to the first game, they are different games

I really dislike how there’s no punishment for companies just taking away what you paid for because they just didn’t want to support it anymore, it sucks.
Yikes. Pretty sure the same thing happened with Super Mario Maker.
