It's pretty good if played right. Tbh, kind of disappointed in the next campaign with Hizen. Would rather we get a Russian BB or something. It looks like the next three campaigns are going to be the rental ships they had.
I feel like Hizen is just Iwami’s steroid obsessed cousin
How do you find out what ships are going to be in the campaign beforehand?
@ryanb9640 it's just a guess, because the Anchorage and Hizen were both rental ships, so the Vallejo and Hampshire likely will be the next two as well
This is my first campaign ship! I’ve played for just over 2 years but never bought the admiralty backing, but I decided to buy this one. Very impressed by Anchorage, not usually much of a cruiser player but I’ve enjoyed her a lot, even me with my lack of experience with cruisers can do well
This ship is great when played with a division, I’d recommend a dd for spotting and you’ll be getting insane damage/xp
It's marmite, it's a love hate relationship you either like it or you don't. It's best to play it aggressive but being aware and keeping distance as you explained teams can be a given opportunity or a disappointing let down.
I enjoy it quite a lot ... Playing it mostly from distance at first and had a bunch of good games in it and getting above 2500 exp has been quite easy. Im not that great of a cruiser player and this ship has been quite good to me so far ... 32 battles, 63% solo winrate and im having fun
Just depends on the matches it has great potential but for me I'd rather be in Balti or Wichita any day

I went full agile build with Kincaid. Rudder is down to maybe 2.5 seconds and about 37.5 knots. Beast of a ship in the right situation.

Thats a good build spartan. Im still trying different builds. Had good success. The AP is nasty and i admit- to get this thing to really work for me i have to play it differently from everything else; not my style but it works!!
I’ve played this thing three times it feels alright to me you just have to have teammates to spot if you’re solo in a division this thing can be deadly

I have been very successful in the Anchorage. I have not been taking any credit losses like I sometimes do in my other Legendary ships. Its fun and a credit generator for me.

@@SpartanElite43 I like it. I play solo all the time so I have to use the fighter plane for self spotting; works well with smoke.
Run beepley with makawa and mimbellie your concealment is like 9 ish km plus all the perks beepley offers...

I grinded the campain to get this stupidly broken ship, it was REAAAALY worth it.
Ah took my catapults plane in the smoke to spot idea lol You can also use the torp spoting mod for when destroyers try to torp you in the smoke i use the torps to keep destoyers honest and away when im in smoke

I really wanna love this ship but as a solo player it's tough to do well in. Especially when the CV just chooses you to chase or a DD gets close enough with your smoke firing penalty to keep you spotted in smoke.
I feel your pain
Your problem with the dd spotting you is you doing something you shouldnt- stop lingering- as soon as a dd is nearing 5-6km you need to be getting your speed up to evade torps. Stop using smoke and start using islands as cover for attack- save the smoke to cover retreat or to hide if suddenly targeted by multiple opponents. Remember- it's a cruiser, not a dd, it's not going to hide in smoke anywhere near as well as a dd. Even Flint doesn't do so well as hiding in its smoke while on offense, and Flint is almost as small as a dd- and that's exactly where I learned what I just told you- don't linger in smoke if a dd or other ship is getting near, get moving while they're still several km out so by the time they're 4km away your speed is up and you're not looking at eating torps.

I just got her both games I have used her in so far I got pushed out of my smoke by my teammate and dev struck gotta love teammates not paying attention and turning into me.
I am really happy with the ship. to me it fells better then balti. maybe because I was a lot more of a potato when I played balti 😅
in my first game, I took some risk at the start. lost half hp before healing back. and then I farmed the bb's like crazy.
atlantico, scharnhorst and t7 italian tech tree BB went broadside, took 5-10k dmg per AP salvo every 10-12 seconds 🤩
but as you say, utility. if there had been 3 dd's per team, it hadnt worked out like that. then balti with its radar had been better.
without spotting, I would have been useless too
Balti does everything this can do except smoke and has 3 less guns but faster reload and better ap damage

Decided to skip this one as Cruisers aren't my thing, Skipped the Z-44 as it's just bad and might skip Hizen as i have Iwami, Musashi and Yammy so i don't need another Japanese Battleship. British Destroyer Campaign would be nice for something different.

Torps are funny gimmick, but I would play Batlimore over this ship.
I need to seriously stick in time to WoWs Legends.... Just the ships I have...I dunno...i lack the motivation to grind.

Love the game, hell just wish it went to the degree it was on PC but I assume hardware limitations etc.
Think I'm gonna have another crack. Like really knuckle down on commanders, builds etc etc.
Watching a few vids of yours now and gained some tips and ways to play better, hell I wouldnt be suprised if I've fought with or against you at some point with us being Xbox players.

I've been enjoy to play WOWS Legend these days and I got many citadel with a single shot.... and sadly I didn't get ARP Musashi and my doubloons still not enough.... hopefully ARP Musashi will come back again

Once upon a time the campaign gave you legendaries. Most recently it gave you Tier VIII ships. Now we're only getting a Tier VII?
Campaign only gave a mino right?.. pretty sure that's the only legendary that was a campaign ship
@@SpartanElite43 I might be mis-remembering -- think I got the Mino out of the bureau. I'm a play-for-free guy and have only recently been routinely completing the campaign and buying the admiralty backing.
But it's definitely been giving us Tier VIII's
YEah - seems like legendaries have always been Bureau ships. Can't find a list of past campaigns anywhere
I’d like a tier V or VI. You think you get better value out of a tier VIII but that’s not true. I mean would you get a giussepe verdi instead of a hyuga or warspite ?
Besides, giving away a tier VIII for $10 to people who don’t even own a tier VII or VIII tech tree ship is ruining tier VIII/legendary. We’ll see how it goes with that tier VII anchorage but I already see a lot of anchorage full broad side or rushing into the cap and getting killed in 30 sec. Or hidding behind an island for 15 minutes.
It’s a very easy ship to play…for players who have a minimum if experience. Half the people who play the anchorage now clearly are rookies (or just bad ?).
@@xavytex Not sure it's a give-away at $10 - that's an average $100 per year for Admiralty backing. I have the early adopter flag, which is some indication of how long I've been playing. I've only been spending money for the last 6 months or so.
Plus you need to be reasonably competent to complete the campaign (remember, each weekly Havoc ends with you needing to come top 4 in several matches) You can't do it against AI, unlike all the Bureau missions.
