IF ANOTHER SEES THIS: Please if you know how I can extend my TRS to TRRS cable in order to put this mic on a boom poll and still be able to plug it into my phone, please let me know. I have the short TRS to TRRS cable from rode, but I need around 10 feet of chord for this boom.

Great video, thanks for sharing! I have a VideoMicro for my camera, and I now want to use that for Zoom calls. If I get the Rode TRS to TRRS Patch Cable, will the audio from the Zoom call then still come out through the MacBook Air's internal speakers? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I don't want to wear a headset during the call.

Thanks! Yup, have the same setup. might need to go to sound preferences once and set output back to the macbook speakers.

I’ve had mine for months and not used it. Like others when I watched this video I couldn’t hear the difference. I was worried but I tested it out and it’s definitely crisper with the videomic Go II plugged in

But do you need driver to make it work? Because on my galaxy s21 quality audio is very low.
    Thank you

I do think that the mic isn't working for some reason, because I used one for myself beofre, although the difference is small, but I can still hear my speaking gets clearer and the background noise gets smaller.

So can I assume the iPhone has a built in DAC (Digital Audio Converter)? The reason I ask is I am moving from a Samsung Galaxy S21 and it does NOT have a DAC built in. This meant whatever I used to connect to the phone had to have a built in DAC. I like to put the phone in a gimbal, so got a t-shaped connector with a USB-C to connect to the phone and a female TRRS for the videomicro to connect. Now with the iPhone 14, I don't want to just add an adapter to my T connector to suit the iPhone as it will stand out too far for use in the gimbal, so just need to know if I need to look for a T connector for iPhone WITH a DAC or not. cheers

hi there. I have this Rode Videomicro and it works fine with my Sony FX30-it takes power from the camera. Can I use it with my 15pro max? I guess I will need a miniplug to USB-C adapter to use it. Will it take power from the iphone? But I wonder, are there any shotgun mics that already have USB-C connectors? Similar in size to the videomicro. Don't need a big mic on top of the phone, what USB-C compact mini shot gun would you recommend? Something simple...wired is fine-just plug and play...thanks

My assumption is it would work with the USB-C adapter for your iPhone 15P Pro Max. The device takes power from the source like a phone or camera.

maybe you should put both on same level cuz now VideoMicro is much more louder. Put Limiter on but don´t limit sound.

Works on my iPhone 14 Pro Max with the first cable as well as the one you suggest. No difference.
