Installing CHEAPEST headers on my c63 w204 (tips and tricks, and review)

- UPDATE after 1 year:
Daily drive my car and no complaints other than the gaskets they provide are cheap quality. Use the OEM gaskets instead. No cracks, no weird vibrations. Sound and fit great.
Racing my friends identical c63 (same tune, same mods, his long tube headers are more expensive version), mine pulls slightly more. (May be unrelated to header design differences, but they aren’t hindering power).
Took a gamble and ordered some headers from Alibaba. Turned out to be a lot nicer than I was expecting.
Total shipped was about $720. Headers cost about $420 plus shipping and fees.
Took about two weeks to get them in.
Few tips and tricks to installing them yourself, plus some sound clips.
Filmed with iPhone 12 plus.
Link to headers I purchased.

Invaluable info showing the combo of extensions and sockets. Thank you
sounds amazing
Love the AMG! I'm located in OK and have one as well!
Thank you! What part of Oklahoma?
@@cody1413 located in OKC. If you're ever down here I'd love to hear the AMG in person haha
@@Observate000 for sure! I’m in tulsa, so not too far away.
The thing about saving money with cheap headers is you will have the huge pain in the ass of installing them twice once the welds break. If you can deal with that, go on. Best case they‘ll never break and you have some cheap headers.
have you got the car tuned since you installed the headers? and if so is the performance aspect of these headers there?
Can you tell me how to pull the steering shaft back out after pushed in?
Can you remove ac line if don’t have ac machine? Or will stuff pour out
Question for you, how is the smell? Is there any type of bad exhaust smell?
Can you share link where to buy these Headers and long tube
Since you installed it more then 1 year ago can you tell me your opinion about them and is there any damages or effects?
No complaints other than the exhaust gaskets they provide don’t last long. I would use new OEM gaskets. Fitment is great. Compared sounds to my friends car who has a different brand long tube headers and mine seems a bit louder and slight different tone.
How are they holding up 9 months later? Are you running an X pipe (in place of secondary cats) and straight pipe (in place of resonator) and stock mufflers in that cold start clip?
Holding great minus the cheap exhaust gaskets they provide. Go with OEM gaskets.
Yes and yes. Headers to x-pipe to stock mufflers. You won’t find a better sounding car imo.
@@cody1413 Thoughts on double x pipe with stock mufflers?
@@Bridscape double x-pipe? No real need for it. Single is all you need.
@@cody1413 I’m not familiar with the exhaust gaskets, do you have the part numbers? Or which ones I’ll specifically need/how many?
@@Bridscape just the factory exhaust manifold gaskets at the engine. One per side so two total. Long rectangle gasket with 4 oval holes
Am I okay to use OEM gaskets even if it’s different shape as the gasket that came with the headers
Should be, yes.
let me see if i understood... your setup remove: original header / 1st and 2nd cats but maintained the ressonator and mufflers, am i right? my question is because i get the same JDLD kit for my c63... and my exhaust system is completelly OEM. it is my dailly car so i am afraid about the noise when i am not accellerating... is it loud in normal situatiion?i know if i accel the noise will appear but my question is in normal situation( driving in city for ex.)
Headers, then x-pipe, then factory mufflers.
Everything else is removed.
Car is very quiet unless over 1/2 throttle. Can barely hear the exhaust when driving down the highway.
@@cody1413 thank you for the feedback! but are you maintained the ressonators(before the mufflers)? or remove them as well?
@@madeingermany_br3104 removed
Got a link ?
Just made a 2AM purchase on these! Ended up being $576 delivered… time to play the waiting game! Do you still have the car?
Yup! Still have it. I will say to use oem gaskets and not the aluminum crush style ones the headers come with.
F-China... from dad!!
Update?
@@OGYELLOWjust got delivered a few days ago. Waiting on the lift to be available for the install!
Update 😢😊
Should I go VRP or Becker is perfect for money
Becker have different outlet flanges from what I’ve seen. They don’t directly bolt up like these cheap Chinese headers or VRP.
Link plz
I’m assuming they’d fit on a W211 E63 too correct?
I believe they do but the mid pipes are different.
@@cody1413 yea most headers unfortunately favor 204 chassis and require other cars to get custom midpipe
Who tuned the car ?
Have you experienced any rubbing / rattling since these were installed ? I got the same one and every time i go to turn left they’re vibrating on the cross member or something idk
Nope, no noises for me. You might check your engine mounts, if they’re old and collapsed they may let the exhaust rub.
I’m considering buying these headers because they sound very good and compared to the mainstream headers, very cheap. Are they worth getting? Any downsides to cheap headers?
@@danielamg1363 I’m happy with them. Have close to 10k miles on them and no complaints yet.
@@cody1413 wow 10k miles! I’m really just concerned about the quality and scared about metal bursting and damaging engine/ anything else. How’s the build quality? I’m seriously considering it because of the sound and price
@@danielamg1363 there’s nothing the headers could do to damage the engine. You will need a tune after installing the headers. If you’re not tuned already, you’ll gain probably 50-80hp if not more with headers.
Build quality Is quite good. Only complaint is the bolt holes are a bit larger, but still fits just fine.
Question can I run without a tune with the headers?
@@aldinbabba418 yes. You will probably have a check engine light for missing cats however.
@@cody1413 thanks for the reply! Was curious I’m going to go with eurocharged but have to ride without a tune for a bit was worried it might be bad for the car that’s why I asked.
No need to mess with the steering rack itself?
Not on a c63. May have to on the e63 but I’m not sure.
how long did it take you?
Roughly 3-4 hours I’d say. Wasn’t too bad.
Yeah they still holding up?
Yup! Daily drive it and haven’t had any issues.
any updates on it?
So far they’re working great. Not a single complaint.
