- Finally doing some mods to my E63 AMG! I've had these headers and OE Tuning tunes since I bought the car and just now got around to installing them. Not without some struggle of course! Enjoy the 6.2L of German v8 bliss!

Love how he delivers every major mod in one solid video and doesn’t chop it into a series for views
You mean legit street cars fuck that guy
Bought a 2009 CL63 AMG a couple of months ago and saw that it had a carbon fiber airbox by Rentech under the hood. So I called Rentech in Florida with my VIN # and they told me back in 2013 they installed airbox, throttle body, headers and ECU tune for the original owner. Now puts out 577Hp and 533ft/lbs of torque. $20k worth of work on top of the $155k original sticker. Car is mint with 60k on the odometer, black on black. Only paid $30k for it at a Buick dealer, don't think they realized what they had.
They get over on the customer all the time. I love it when people get over on them 👍
instagram? or anything
That’s the best part about these cars. People don’t know what they are and it leaves great opportunities for the ones who do
2009 E63 I paid $10k from a private seller with very low mileage are these vrp products and where are you located ??
Such quality content. It’s always a pleasure watching.
so so so nice! The way you can take an exhaust system that is clearly not made for your car and then put it all together with fab work that turns out AMAZING. Man, such great content!! The car sounds just PERFECT as well.
Sounds like OBX has the same mentality as Speed Engineering: "Sure, it should fit." In terms of the final result, that sounds like the perfect daily. Not unbearable at idle, quiet while cruising, and it has a sharp and throaty bark when you get on it. I didn't realize those had 518 hp stock! As an aside, love this channel!
Love to see on your face when you have that smile of accomplishment after all the hours of busting knuckles, frustration , cursing up a storm because of it and all the need to just get away just to inhale to inhale a lung full of air lol, and the added extra work that you had to accomplish, Job well done again! Your UA-cam Vlogs are "Thee Absolute Best" always. When you picked up the ZO6 with the blown engine, I had to rewind it when you arrived at the co-op complex because it looked so familiar. My buddy just moved from the complex on the next block about 6 months ago. I sold him my C5 ZO6 which he kept in one of those garages after I bought a '19 C7 Grand Sport. Looking forward to you doing some more work on the Z,
What amazing timing... was literally just watching m156 videos. Love the content as always. :)
The Greatest phrase ever said,”While your in there “ my father would say it over and over. To here you say it brings joy to my ears. Telling customers this I always makes me remember my dad pointing his finger at a part😂😂😂😂😂
Pro Tip: take the valve covers off to reach the top header bolts. I have an 09 and instead of bamming on the header, I just custom made another steering shaft because that's where the interference was, unlike your car where it contacted the body. I'm almost positive those headers were made for 07-09 W211 E63 because there aren't any fitment issues like with your car. As far as the flared flange on the x-pipe, all you had to do was cut that part off and it would have slipped in like stock.
Wow, normal I hate guys which tune the original m156 exhaust but this with original middle and end exhaust sounds really good, the best tuned m156 exhaust I ever heard! Greetings from Germany.
The sounds incredible 🎶🎶🎶
As car guys we feel all your frustration and joy. The end result is a bad ass sounding Amg !!
Great video!!!
Love cars and really love your channel! On your way to 50k! Thanks for sharing your awesome skills and content!
Man, that's best AMG V8 i've ever heard. I'm also so jealous of your exhaust fab skills and tools. Great work, bro!
Man, what a beautiful job! You're awesome and I really like how you work your way out of any issue so professionally!
I love the explanations you give as you go. Awesome!
This guy deserves way more attention, love his videos
You have become one of my top 3 UA-camrs I watch! Keep up the good work!
Nicely done. Sounds awesome! Please post a drive by so we can hear how it sounds at WOT.
Love the video Chris! Keep up the great work! Can’t wait to see what’s next :)
great vid. what a car. i always love it when a bolt falls somewhere in between and have to search for it, so much fun! keep up the good work. greetings from the netherlands
Chris I really love your channel and content. You have got one hell of a stable of cars my friend!! Well done
Straight up Honesty, being a mechanic or hobbiest looks so peaceful and joyous on youtube.
I've been waiting for this. Love the sound. I bought my 2011 a little over a year ago. The exhaust had already been modified. It has magna flow resonator and mufflers but honestly I don't like the way it sounds. The stock sounds more aggressive
dropping a nut or bolt into the abyss is always such a joy lol. really well done for pushing through, inspiring!
Great Job on the work. Sounds amazing, and the stainless steel looks awesome!
My e90 m3 came with the primary cats removed and it was quite at idle and rowdy at 8k rpm. It was a great daily setup. Your e63 sounds great!
the dopest e 63 6.2L From one amg owner to another absolutely sick
That’s killer man….def felt your frustration during the install! Sounds awesome
I appreciate everything that you do and you show us the ups and downs to the car culture. You sow us the ugly/ funny side of it
Love the content. I grew up right there by pease too. It’s cool to see all the back roads I used to drive on.
Nice work on the AMG. But I love your Vettes way more.
There is nothing that beats the sound of a massive engine under heavy acceleration! My former 409 , 396 and 454 were so impressive in their day. Sure beats the rice burners !
It sounds so much better than any c63 with Headers ! Perfekt setup, i‘m jealous
best sounding AMG on UA-cam great work
Great vid, love the car and sharing the frustrations getting those headers in there.
the perfect way to have exhaust! I looked for all the same characteristics on my turbocharged frs 👌🏼 loud when on it, quiet as stock when cruising, and no highway drone! I have a 3in custom exhaust, recirculated wastegate, one vibrant resonator and an electronically valved muffler (for the cops, I live in southern california lol)
Sounding sweet, For sure not the correct exhaust for this car, but your becoming the master fabricator
of the exhaust systems and making it like it's suppose to be, great work Chris.
Love your work! Really well done, she sounds so lovely. You've inspired me to do this on my SLK55, which I'm sure will be similar knuckle bashing to get to the header nuts and studs. All worth it in the end!
I have a w212 e350 and have always wanted an e63. This definitely pushes me closer to getting one. Impressive job on the exhaust. 👍🏽
Sounds amazing! Nicely done...👍
Awesome video as always. I've been there too and feel your pain. Some of the designs to remove and/or install stuff is an absolute nightmare.
Great content man and you make the fab work look so easy
Same thing when I did LTH on my tundra, headers went in fine but tightening the nuts took FOREVER!!!!! I had to use 1/4" socket and extension to 3/8" extension to my 3/8" ratchet to tighten them down then go and warm the engine up and let it cool and re-tighten them again.
Not deleting the resonator = No drone happiness! Thanks for using gear that records stabilized footage. I didn't get violently ill watching your video. Subscribed!
This is the way an AMG suppose to sound. Very nice Chris.
The sound is so lovely to hear
I feel your pain! I spent 3 days trying to get my cheap headers on my 05 E500. I think the problem is Mercedes uses the same motor in multiple cars and the companies don't account for the smaller C the Medium E and bigger S and also that the motor was used in the previous Models of E class. All they do is mass produce for the motor.
Keep firin' Chris. Big fan of this project
Great video and the car sounds sick I love that amg snarl. On my next car I am definitely doing headers before any other component in the exhaust system.
Good job chris as always.
Thing sounds insaneeeee. Great work!
dude great video, my dads got a Z06 too so ima check ur stuff on that too, your making me wanna do my headers on my c63 amg now as well and if the engine is as tight as the e ill prob just get it done my self, anyway keep up the great work man!
Great content buddy keep it up seriously
Outstanding Achievement especially for doing your own work. Great Job
You keep a nice clean garage I like the way you did the floors I like your contact too
Nice work brah. Going to do this on my 09 CLS 63 eventually. I need to level up my fabrication skills first. You teach yourself to weld or did you have a sensei? Enjoying the channel.
great videos, quick question what do you do for a living? able to have nice cars and the time to work on them?
exactly my setup. great choice bro. no drone IS the main thing. sound is sick when on throttle :)
Like the way Chris works his attention to detail and they way he keeps the work area clean reminds me of M539 Renovations. Keep up the good work.
Thanks 👍
Love your content, best channel on yt 👏
Dude!! Awesome work!!
great vid! i know hindsight's 20/20 but...... those motors drop out the bottom so easy (once you take a look and see what your working with as far as lines/etc) a couple jack stands, your hoist and you can sag the kmemeber down to give loads of access without completely removing it. another option is to support the motor and lower the kmemeber slightly, a couple inches of clearence make the job so much better. ive removed/installed many benz drivelines and i feel your pain on the manifolds. all that being said killer car, i miss working on AMGs they are beasts.
Have you seen any videos that show what your talking about for 63? About lowering the kmember to get the headers in and out easier?
@@RadFox1320 nope but to honest never really searched it out, when we were big into them at my shop, we had the luxury of a hoist and a 3 ton overhead crane/trolley. Raise the vehicle, have the motor suspended by the over head and used an air table to lower the k-member. I get not everyone has access to that kind of set up. But it’s definitely possible. I drop c5/c6/c7 vette crossmembers with jack stands and a floor jack to do cams, headers etc
Excellent video! Beautiful AMG!!!
...awesome job, really well done !
Super sick video yeah I have a 2010 E550 black one all blacked out like a brother car of yours I just pulled off the back resonators and it sounds sick obviously not like the 63s with headers but they are some sick sounding V8s looking forward two more videos you got a great Channel going
I hope you check the flatness of new header where sit on the exhaust ports. If not flat can cause the exhaust screws to come loose, broke or stripp of the thread.
Also turn 180° Vband to hide long portion of the screw to the belly of the car to avoid it can hook up some road stuff’s
Good mod to your nice E63!
It sounds like the E63s that were in the V8SC series which is AWESOME 👌
Electronic cutouts before the resonator??? Hahaha
Love the videos!!!
This thing is sick, sounds similar to my 2008 s63 amg with an M156, i have stuff done to mine but for exhaust i only have long tube headers, nice build
This sounds great 😱👌🏼👌🏼 no sharping only dark growl
Loving the AMG content, Chris! Thanks for documenting. Hopefully one day I’ll get an M156 C63 to go with my E55 😁
You wanna trade and add some cash
If you think an M156 is going to be as reliable you're in for disappointment lol
@@InsaneBimmer never that lol the M113K is goated. Just want to experience both of the legendary engines 💪🏼
Great work, I've got the same car but double the mileage :)
My next project is head bolts, cam adjusters, and maybe buckets.
Are you planning on doing any maintenance on the 722.9 MCT? I hear there is a solenoid that eventually needs to be replaced.
One of the last great AMGs
Very nice work my friend! I need to do the VRM on mine as well. Imagine getting the exhaust manifold bolts on the C63... even less room!
Thats sounds soo good...eargasm!!
wholesome content, best YT channel out !
Great video man. Headers can be a total drag...getting ready to install Kooks 1 3/4" on a Terminator and I'm dreading it. Nightmarish design, but it's all apart of the fun!
Beautiful ride man.
Sounds perfect, nice for daily then when you hit it the monster awakes😮💨🤘🏻🤘🏻
just found your channel, and im already liking your content
Another great video Chris!
Magnetic 1/4 drive sockets would have helped with starting those header stud/nuts. They’re a pain in the ass to get to, but magnetic sockets make it easier.
Absolute Banger
Perfect car best DAILY
Ardent exhaust in Arizona has great kits
Sounds awesome
great video , loved the fab work . great work
Yes!!!
Sounds beastly
Sounds really really good
EDIT - answered all my questions in the video. You made me have flashbacks of doing fbody headers on my back
Great to see someone else running OBX, I put mine on my 507 a couple of years ago and had no issues, power gains were insane, get compliments on the sound almost everywhere I go, and the price is 3 or 4x cheaper than other brands charging 3-4K for headers, ridiculous. Glad it worked out for tou
I got obx on mine for a year and a half and so far no issues and I love it
@@AmgKevo same brother, I’m happy the risk paid off because everyone was clowning me on the forums when I said I was putting them on lmao. Did you go straight pipe or X pipe for the second cats?
@@jameskang5204 I went with the catless headers and secondarily cat and resonator delete. Thing sounds nasty and wanted to keep the amg roar
Sounds amazing!!!
Such quality content.
that smile when you turn up to the highway... is what we all do it for :D
Good job 👏
that sounds wicked now ..,did that tune remove the low rev limit when your stationary . i have the 2008 cl63 with standard exhaust 💪
Awesome video brother! It sounds like a beast. (Checkout your 3rd/ back window brake light, I think one or two of the leds are out.)
That didn't sound like a fun job, but the end result did haha
That thing sounds pissed off. Excellent work.
I’m so glad I don’t work on cars 😂😂😂 it’s awesome to watch this guy do all the work himself tho, it came out amazing man!
sounds great
