☀️ The Good Life - 03/01/2024 (291) - In the departure lobby

Day 291 - Our home is becoming a mere house again. It began with the deconstruction of my office, which sits vacant now behind a closed door which I’ve no reason to open. Next, I gave away all my old man clothing, and then our living room became cluttered with suitcases. Now, our vehicles are starting to go. Soon, this apartment of ours will become a hollow, echoey, waiting room-a departure lobby, where Yumiko and I will sit patiently night after night waiting for our boarding call. And as we wait, we will each grow younger day by day.
I am already no longer sixty years old. I was fifty-eight two weeks back, fifty-four years old on Tuesday, and I turned just fifty today! I expect I’ll be somewhere in my thirties again when my flight is finally called. It’s a good thing that I’ve a smart, brand new wardrobe to wear for my journey. As I think it’s time to leave the old man clothes behind.
