They finally fixed the aggressive ASBL! I was right!
I knew LG will step up their game and do it, when everyone said they won't fix C2 just to force people to buy C3s or they don't care etc.
LG has built their customer trust and reputation around backwards compatibility and support - backward deploying patches, features and Firmware Update Fixes!
LG didn't disappointed at all!
I'm so happy I haven't disabled GSR or TPC and haven't touched the Service Menus at all.
Had full faith in LG - and it's good to see they haven't neglected their last year's flagship owners - the C2 OLED Evo is a Beast!!

I bought a gorgeous 65 inches C2 just last week, but I didn't even connected it to my WiFi because I watch content from a TV Box (for now). However, I've been reading about this update, fixing something called ASBL, I haven't noticed any dimming issues yet. Maybe with the right content I'd see it?? I'll look for that House of Dragons scene you tried, could you tell me the season and episode?? Thank you very much for the video. 👏👏👏👏
Yes you just haven’t watched the stuff that triggers it. Several episodes of silo are famous for it along with some of ozark. Ep7 of house of dragon the night beach scenes.
is the dark game mode only an issue on g3 or does it happend for the g2 tho

Yes, all of them. Use ota if you are having trouble finding the file

Nothing changed in the service menu, you don't need to disable anything. The feature now works for static images, as it should have from the start. Sorry I don't game, I have no info on that.
I have the LG CS (9LA Europe Modell ?) from 2022 . Hardware from C2 , and Housing C1. Today I got Fw 03.33.65 . Is in this Model CS the Bug also fixt?

Has this update not gone to main channel for like when we autoupdate? I have a Lgc2 and it says im on update 3.30 which it updated to today, so does that mean i have to manually install this update/?Just wondering.
Ota updates rollout over time but all regions got this quite some time ago. Feel free to manually update at any time.

Bro, im on 03.21.45. OLD firmware which for me worked beautifully however, to use the web browser it askes to update the firmware. Id like to ask you, is there any excellent firmware to get, or if it's not worth it ( i can live without web browser)

If they do make ads in the next uodste, couldn't we jaut uodste via USB like you did to this firmware version and avoid the more recent one? I'm still on the fence on updating mine (03.30.45) because of all the recent uproar regarding updates.
No one knows when they will implement the change, it might be the next, it might be 10 more, who knows. What I showed IS the recent one. It makes no difference if it’s via usb or OTA
And if you mean go back to this one, no you can not downgrade firmware only update.
I didn't mean downgrade, I meant essentially choose which version to upgrade to in case the most recent one isn't suitable anymore for whatever reason. Provided you're still on an old enough firmware to do so.
Then yes, you can update to this (the latest as of now) and just turn off auto updates, wait and see what any next versions do. But that has nothing to do with USB vs OTA.

I’ve contacted LG. Right now, for my region in the US at least there’s no change. It brought some other regions up to match, just adding the auto launch home option. We already have that in 65.

I'm having trouble with this update it's not working ota with me and unfortunately I only have computers with type C at hand and I haven't got a dual drive or even a usb that works. What shud I do? Tried but stuck at 25 percent right now and taking ages.
It's a huge update and OTA may certainly take quite a while to complete. See if you can find someone local you can make a drive copy with I guess.

This TV's software is bugging me now it signs me out of my LG account a lot and now updates not working. "TV OF THE YEAR" my ass. Now it's saying 'no updates available'

@@COGuyStuff I did it via usb, ordered a type c to type A one and all, but I am absolutely pee'd off that the ota one didn't work, makes me question the longevity of this TV and if the software will continue to annoy me.

It's absurd that they can sell a 2k$ tv and still have the nerve to put ads all over the thing.
That's the way of the world unfortunately - and most are already there, same with streamer boxes. A few can still be made clean though.
You can turn advertising off on the C2/G2.
I'm talking about a future update. Yes you can turn off what's there now, but soon it will change (if you update when it's released). It's been announced.

No change for US models. They just brought the numbering up to match all the regions, some others didn’t have all our features yet.

Am I also correct in noting that it’s not as bright when my room is dark? I promise all eco and dimming features are off. 😂
You missed a setting then :) I just did a vid with all of them, run through it. It will not change at all with ambient light when done right.

Important note not in title: LG is adding ads commercials to the WebOS apps in a FUTURE post-03.33.65 firmware.
Since there is no down grading supported, owners who use the apps in their LG and want to avoid ads, they should carefully look at firmware reviews before updating in the future. Note, I think routers might be able to block the ads but I have not tested it and blocking can cause weird behaviors.

LG announced months ago that in the future, they will be adding ads to the WebOS interface, like pretty much everyone else. Zero issue if you simply use an external streaming box, especially an aTV or nvidia shield with a custom launcher. I haven't seen ads in years.
