    OH Thank you so much for this. I just gave it a try and am so happy with my results. Great instructions and loads of encouragement along the way; it helps us not get fussed over things. I am on holiday and do not have everything I wish I had with me, but it is forcing me to improvise with what I did bring and THAT is a great lesson on its own. Lovely way to spend some time with you. Your time and talent are much enjoyed. Have a great day!

    This is my favorite of all your tutorials. I have painted this many times and in different colors. I like cool colors in the background after masking out the dragonfly. I add warm colors on the dragonfly. I add two m smaller dragonflies in the transparent method you used here. Wondering if you’d ever like to try to do that on UA-cam for us. 🙏 also, might you consider adding to your shop a coffee mug with this image? My hummingbird mug I purchased a couple of years ago is still my favorite. I would buy the 2 dragonfly mugs. One to keep in one for my sister. She loves your work too. 💙🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵

    Hello Diane! Another lovely one I see. I love your technique in this one. I'm a big fan of dragonflies! I find your tutorials very relaxing. I haven't done any watercolours for decades but I made a bookmark as a Christmas gift for my daughter and I'm hoping she'll love it. I'm just getting over an injury to my right arm so I have to take it slow...I like the way it turned out. The only thing I don't like is the butterflies look kind of heavy, not light like a butterfly should, kind of stiff...I think I must use a lighter line, not so heavy handed with the ink outline. Any tips for me? I would appreciate it. Thanks so much! Keep posting and your art is fabulous!

    I’ve just discovered your channel. Thank you for the really helpful teaching and simple explanations- it’s so helpful to my own painting. I’ve subscribed yesterday.
    However, as I have a neurological disorder that causes pain and dizziness with nausea, at times when music is playing in the background of a teaching video, I’ve had to stop the one I’m watching today. I will try again tomorrow and see if I can continue with the second two thirds!
    People will tell me to watch with the sound turned off! I do that sometimes, but I want to hear your teaching, which is important when you’re learning.
    So, if I’m not offending anyone by asking, please would you consider making your wonderful videos without the music in the background, competing with the voice. Some of us who live alone and are disabled can find great comfort and purpose through painting, but need to hear simple clean descriptions without music.
    I don’t know why this is a thing, because I can listen to music on its own, and love it, but I can’t cope with two things at once. I’ve read many comments on other sites where someone says they don’t like the music so I know I’m not the only one.
    I hope you don’t mind me asking. Thank you so much. X

      Hi there, sorry I don't know your name, but welcome to the channel. You'll be excited to know that for the last month or two we have been producing all our videos without music. I'm sorry that the older ones are hard for you to listen to, but going forward they will be music free, as you certainly aren't alone in feeling the way you do. Initially when we started the channel about 18 months ago it seemed necessary to have the music for various logistical reasons. Now though we are more established and can leave the music off. So pick the newer videos when you absolutely need no music and you will be set! Hope this helps, best wishes and thanks for your support, Diane xxx

      @@DianeAntoneStudio Hi there. I am so thankful - that’s wonderful news! I will look again tomorrow and enjoy some more.
      How kind of you to reply and not take offence. I have had some very snotty replies with one artist even saying she “blocks all ‘whingers’ from her channel, and good luck, close the door when you leave”!!!
      It is obviously very offensive to some people even though I ask politely and try to make clear that it’s a medical condition I have, not at all a criticism of someone’s work.
      Anyway, I’m very grateful for your understanding and wish you well with your channel. xxx

    • @DianeAntoneStudio
      @DianeAntoneStudio  2 роки тому

      @@rbrown6476 thanks so much for your reply. I’m shocked to hear that another UA-camr would reply to you like that. There is no reason to be offended when someone asks a polite question, is there, or at least I think I was taught that when I was a child! I have various annoying medical conditions myself which mean that I am more than sympathetic to anyone who suffers. I’m glad that you asked. I’m sure you’re not alone and I think we made the right decision when we decided to leave off the music. To tell you the truth it takes a lot of time to add the music so really why would we! I wish you happy painting and much enjoyment from our videos! Best wishes, Diane xxx

      @@DianeAntoneStudio Bless you for your understanding and kind reply. To be honest, I’ve found that 95% of people are kind and thoughtful in general, although we’re all a bit grumpy on some days :D, but it’s the unkind and spiteful remarks that you tend to remember. I try to find good and kind people whatever I’m doing, and it’s not hard. A smile and kind words don’t cost anything!
      Happy painting and much success with your channel x
