0:38, while I obviously don't know the exact reasons as to why Minish Cap specifically was outsourced to Capcom, I presume that it was more than likely due their prior work on the Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons titles. Both titles were made and released for the Gameboy Color, so when it came time to produce another handheld Zelda game, why not ask the same guys that released the last two?
That definitely makes sense! It's always interesting seeing properties worked on by different studios. Like with Monster Hunter, you can see how they design certain elements.
Capcom seemingly also made the game framework in the first place(It is from Four Swords, the game Vaati is from in the first place), so it probably just made a lot more sense to let them make the game rather than have a first party team take a shot at it.
This project has been a 3 week endeavor. Through finding time to record the gameplay, to finalizing the script, I really wanted to make my first long video something I could be proud of. And, to be honest, it was a lot of fun making it! The plan is to take that short break then immediately start working on Castlevania Circle of the Moon. To anyone new, I do hope this video is worth the background noise, haha. If you enjoyed it, then welcome aboard to the Comboist community. May your day be excellent, and the vibes immaculate.
Thank you SO MUCH to play this game I suggested. It marked my childhood so much, and I'm very happy to see you covering it. I hope it has been a fun experience and excited for more videos!
9:53 - Wait, what? IIRC, there are two other ways to pass this obstacle, and I think the way you did it was the hardest one. I know you could use the Gust Jar to pull those pots off of their platform....and I seem to remember that they break if you flip them with the Cane of Pacci...?
Playing Skyward Sword after playing this game for the first time, really made me how close the two are. They share items like the gust jar and digging mitts, Link can even parachute through whirlwinds. They both even share story beats with Link and Zelda being childhood friends, powering up the master/four sword after each dungeon visited. Even various temple obsticals like spider webs in the forest temples, riding down lava rivers on stone platforms. Both also have Sky action.
Having never really played Skyward Sword, that's quite fascinating to hear. I've never been much of a Zelda gamer so it was a good experience to play Minish Cap. Having actually beat the game did help me appreciate what the series has to offer. Now, I'm unsure if I'll ever play Skyward Sword, let alone have the means to play it. But it would be good to cover a 3D Zelda in the future. We shall see.
I guess it's nonlinear, but I don't remember it being that way when I played! I just had a lot of fun, and it always held my attention. The pixel art is top notch. The game is just beautiful, and fun to explore, especially when you can shrink down really small. I also don't remember fast travel! I probably didn't realize you could do this. I played this right after graduating college, and now I'm in my 40s.
Its a very colorful game, that's for sure! The locations were distinct and there's definitely a lot to fill up your time. There's always a good time to pick up and try a new game. And that's the Comboist way: showcase ways to have fun.
It's understandable that OOT is the most talked about. It was the game that defined a generation. We do often look back on defining games a lot more because it was so influential. But that's alright. As long as we have people talking about games like Minish Cap, we'll be just fine.
Glad to hear it! I think its a great gateway game into the series. Doesn't take too much of your time either. It's comfortable enough for you to familiarize what the series has to offer.

Someday, I'll visit both of those games. Should be interesting going through them.
@@TheComboist if I weren’t already, I’d subscribe just to see a first time reaction to those games
Then that's something to look forward to in the future!

Legions of us wanted Vaati for Hyrule Warriors
I can imagine so. As someone who knows that Ganon is generally the antagonist, it's a refreshing take.
@@TheComboist Vaati is the second most recurring Zelda villain
That certainly tracks. That makes sense.

No trouble at all! It was a fun game to playthrough. I'm looking forward to my next venture.
This and Pokémon fire red were my first GBA games even had the Zelda gameboy
Ah Fire Red. Good times. Real good times. I wonder if I ought to make a video on that haha.

Is that so? Hmm . . . You always do learn something new. Either way, thanks for watching the video!
minish cap is on my top 3.
I'm glad to have played and beaten it. It was a good time.
as long as minish cap keeps gettin' recognized, im happy!
Minish Cap Is not Cap after all. It's good! Thank support watching.
Capcom made oracle of seasons and ages too!
Surely in the future, I'll tackle the Oracles games!

The amount of people still talking about Oot is still surprising. I wouldn’t blame you for looking outside in and thinking Oot came out this year.

algoboost: Have you ever seen a ghost?
Appreciated. I've seen plenty of ghosts in this game.
I just played this game and it's awesome.

Hella underrated Zelda game
Its a great game for those wanting to get into the series. I do agree.
I think that his Down B comes from Zelda 2.
Ohhh, I see. Yes, I checked. Your absolutely right! Oops. Thanks for watching the video though.
