@@asdfghjkl7213 The Mission Select idea would work, except for two reasons. First, you can only visit the Metal Head Nest on the first visit, and can't backtrack once you start fighting Metal Kor at the end. The second reason though is that the first mission at the Drill Platform, the one where you shoot the Metal Head Eggs with the turret, doesn't register correctly. It doesn't recognize that you shot the eggs and took down the various walls, which blocks you from a large part of the level where some Orbs are, and you can't shoot them down with the turrets afterwards either. So you may as well start from the beginning at that rate.
There is! It's a bit of a faff but you have to use the Warp Gate in the torture room from the very start of the game. You can get there by going down the "Rescue Friends from Fortress" path again.
@@andreazucchetto1439 It has been known, across PS2, PS3 and PS4, to complete a challenge and not get all the Orbs because you were interrupted. You cannot grab the last 7 if you've already faced the final boss. Level select won't work because A) That starts a new save, and B) It'll bug the Drill Platform level such that you can't get all the Orbs there. It sounds like you'll have to start again.
@@unchartedrocks1 Oh! Then it's at the dig site itself. To get back, go to the Pumping Station via its entrance in the Water Slums, then go to the North part of the map. You'll find some thin pipes you can grind on that will take you to a canyon that leads to the Dig Site and Weapons Lab areas.
On all versions you can get back via the Pumping Station. Head to the north-most point of the area and go down the grind rails there to enter a canyon. The Dig Site and the Weapons Lab will be at the end of the canyon.
@@dcvng No problem! If I were to do these videos again I'd definitely include instructions on how to get back, it's the most common question on these two videos.
@@dcvng You need to use the teleporter in the Fortress Prison torture chamber, where you first started the game. You'll need to go down the path you took from your third visit in order to get to it.
TECHNICALLY no, however you cannot get all the Orbs in the Drill Platform level if you use the Mission Select to jump anywhere past the first visit. This is because you have to shoot down the various Metalhead Egg-covered walls with the turrets, but this isn't reflected if you Mission Select to a mission AFTER that one, making it impossible to get to those Orbs.
@@thekakuze Well, not exactly. The Strip Mine (the place everyone asks about) can be accessed using the Warp Gate in the Prison's torture chamber where you started the game.
It's from the Limited Run soundtrack which includes the cutscenes, it's called "Strange New World - Landing in the City". The specific moment is the when Jak gets his first look at Haven City after landing, right before Erol shows up.
@@theabbu Possibly! I opted for the PS4 ports because I felt they're the most presentable versions (water and Precursor Metal aside). The PS3 ports are in widescreen, but the music isn't all that great in them and that was important to me.

Yes, EXCEPT FOR the Metal Head Nest. If you started the fight against the final boss there and didn't get all of the Orbs, you've missed them forever on that save. : (
Just saying: It would have been helpful to show locations of all these places (or how to reach them) and say whether or not you're able to get them after beating the missions they're in. For example the strip mine. I don't remember how to get there but I ould have sworn its fron Vin's teleporter. If that's the case then I can't get back there to check if I have those ones. However this is coming from someone who last beat/played this game about 2-3 years ago and still has their story finished save file.
These videos are actually meant to be supplements to my Orb Guides over on IGN. If you head on over to the Jak II and 3 guides there, you'll find all that sort of information.

Is it possible to go back to the dig site after you beat the game?
It is! You have to go back to the Torture Room, which you do by taking the third route, the "Rescue Friends" one. You'll find a Warp Gate there that'll take you to the Strip Mine.
@@KBABZ Actually, I edited my comment before you replied. Is it possible to go back to the dig site after you beat the game?
@@ABTube27 The Dig Site? Yeah just take the Warp Gate in Vin's Power Room.
Missed one in dead town. If you would of looked to the left on your first jump up the block, you would of seen another on a ledge similar to eight.
Are you meaning at the first orb in dead town?
i was just wondering since can you go back to the area to get the orbs
Is their a way to check how many orbs are in the area?
Sadly no, you'll just have to manually go in and check their locations.
How do you do the downward attack and then turning it into a high jump? I'm aware of the L1, X high jump, but this seems different
You hold down X as Jak slams into the ground. It's easiest to Jump, then keep holding X as you press Square to slam into the ground. This is just as high as a High Jump!
@@KBABZ thank you for the newfound technique. I've beaten the game twice and never knew of this move. Seeing you do it, I thought it was a mod or some sort of updated animation. I'm glad that people are still interested in this game because its fairly aged.
@@sabo6619 No problem! It's handy in a pinch and IMO doesn't take nearly as long as a High Jump would. Oh, and it works in One and 3, of course. There's a THIRD way to do it to: press X RIGHT when Jak touches the ground at the end of a Roll Jump and he'll do a High Jump!
(oh, and I was playing the PS4 version for this)
@@KBABZ I really wanted the game on ps4 but realized I had it on the ps3 so I got to playing it again for the 4836379th time. It was a part of my childhood and I play it every year around the same time of year instinctively. I knew about pressing X right after a roll jump through messing around but never found a fluid use for it. These other 2 methods do seem more efficient and useful. I hope to get Platinum on this game for the first time and move on to Jak 3. Thanks again! :D
@@sabo6619 No problem! I NEVER thought I'd be able to do the JET races, but then I played WipEout and it all made sense!
One question. How do you put these orbs in your actual Game. If hoy have 285 and your last is in the last level, but you already finish the Game, what do you do?
I don't really understand your question.
@@KBABZ ok sorry. Then, i hace 285 orbs and i finish the Game. I want to come back to the level, take the last orb and get the trophi for 286 orbs. Can i do that? And how?
@@KBABZ i ask it because i saw that if i select a mission, my orbs turn to 0, so i think i have to begin a new game and collect it all orbs again, but i want to be sure
@@KBABZ ok. Thank you. Well i will see your video the next time jajajaja.
Is there a possibility to get to the strip mine after the final boss fight?
There is! It's a bit of a faff but you have to use the Warp Gate in the torture room from the very start of the game. You can get there by going down the "Rescue Friends from Fortress" path again.

OK cool honestly completely forgot about that mission been so long since I ran Jack 2

If i fail to grab the orbs from the metalhead nest, am i unable to unlock hero mode?
Can I get the orbs after I reset ?
That depends on what you mean by reset? If you mean after you beat the Final Boss, then no, you'll miss out on all the Orbs in the Metal Head Nest. You MUST get those before entering the final boss fight.

The Strip Mine Portal is actually inside the Prison Fortress. You'll have to return to the Torture Chamber where you started the game; it'll be in there.
Thank you.
I just started replaying this game.
I am just wondering when is the earliest time you can get all the orbs from Dead Town, the Pumping Station, etc?
Fortress: First visit - Dead Town: Get Life Seed - Pumping Station: First visit if you're crafty - Strip Mine: Destroy Eggs - Drill Platform: Destroy Eggs - Mountain Temple: First visit if you're crafty - Palace Roof: First visit - Haven Forest: First visit - Sewers: Drain Sewers to find Statue - Dig Site: Get Seal Piece - Mar's Tomb: First visit - Weapons Lab: First visit - Under Port: First visit - Construction Site: First visit - Metal Head Nest: FIRST VISIT ONLY.
Can you answer please.
What do you exactly do with the orbs after collecting them. ?
In Jak II they are used to unlock stuff in the Goodies Menu. Towards the end of the game they unlock things like invulnerability and infinite ammo, but in Hero Mode (aka New Game +) these are moved to the START so you can unlock them early.

TECHNICALLY no, however you cannot get all the Orbs in the Drill Platform level if you use the Mission Select to jump anywhere past the first visit.
