@@rogerdat7807 didn't look like a pick slide to me, he was tapping, and he's using a flanger. I watched it a few times, you can audibly hear when he makes tiny mistakes, accidental mutes, etc. I'm not going to question you obviously know your way around a guitar, and have some amazing gear. But, I really don't see him faking this performance at all. Watch the solo.

The amount of rhythm skills this dude has is incredible. No wonder he's a Van Halen disciple. Rhythm guitar is my favorite part of Van Halen and Nuno Bettencourt has managed to digest all the lessons from him. A class act for sure, top world guitar player, been like that for more than ' 30 years, unbelievable to stay at this level so long.
And like Van Halen, the songs are meaningless/emotionless.

Yeah, he actually injured his knee on the 2023 Monsters of Rock Cruise during their Rocker vs Joes basketball game! It actually happened a day before our interview that we did with him. I was shocked that he was able to make it and it was a complete honor to have him. Nothing but mad respect for Nuno. He’s a class act 👏🙌🎸

Nuno has a torn ACL and meniscus. He passed on surgery at the time of the injury because it would be a 6 to 8 month recovery time, forcing the cancellation of all of the touring supporting the latest album. Probable that he will have to eventually have it surgically repaired. What a trooper! 💪🏼🤟🏼

I suspect no. You'd be surprised how quiet it is on stage. Usually these guys can talk to each other on stage. Stage sound very low

I wasn't a fan when I was younger. Actually, I gave my Pornograffitti CD to my father cause I didn't really like it, didn't like the production and some aspects of it, too many syrupy ballads for my taste at the time. But one thing is for sure, respect must be given where respect is due, the guys are extremely talented mofos! Now, I've rebought Extreme II and also the III which is really good ad underrated, imo.

@@stiffmeister0hYeah Yes, maybe. I lsitened to lots a varied music genres, though. Extreme had everything I should have loved in their music, but not done the way I wanted to at the time.
It was watching a YT video of Nuno and his friends doing covers live, a few years ago, that made me think: "damn! He's really good, maybe I should give Extreme another try".

I really enjoy NUNO, the band is fun but to me it was just a vehicle to listen to his guitar wizardry.
I watched from 2:32 to 2:49 several times. The fingering hand as well as the picking hand, does not look right to me during this part of the solo. The audio of the drums during this part are right in time with the video. Oh yeah, Nuno is a monster.

Open your eyes, same sound at 3:00 and 4:17 when you clearly see him hitting the pedal. Next time you want to bash someone maybe you should make sure you know what you're talking about.
His rhythm tone sounds "dead" for some reason. I'd love to hear him with a wet/dry/wet set-up with 5150s and a touch of delay and pitch shift.
I think it is this recording. His rhythm tone usually has much more mid-range bite. Agreed here it sounds muddy.
