I'm interested in the story of the first Ogre battle and The Holy Lodissian Empire rise to power. Those two in particular have a big impact on the existing episodes of the Ogre storyline.
I'm definitely interested in the The Fairy Feller's King as well as Somebody to Love. But if I had to pick just ONE, I'd go with "Break Thru." It's CRIMINAL to introduce such a breadcrumb in a game series about liberation and then just...not...explore this at all. I mean at the time, it was miles beyond most JRPGs, but we're in the 2020s now.
Matsuno needs to see this and your Ep. 8 video, Warren. Both display astounding creativity and thoughfulness in regards to the saga. You are an emissary for this community. Thank you.
Thanks, that's very kind of you! I'm a fan like any other, I'm sure many have a lot of ideas too! But if anyone has Matsuno's phone number it would be of great help hehehe
Seriously, give this man a job with Matsuno. They are willing to piss away so much money in crap games with no soul, why not take a chance in something that would be crafted out of love for the series.
Since Reborn's announcement, I later took to ponder about the Ogre Battle lore, the current existing titles, and the lore within each that could be covered and I must say good friend, you did not miss a spot. Completely agree with each suggested entry. I had thought of one of the main Episodes cover the topic of the Kingdom of Nildham but, having it as a side story would perhaps give it a better focus (preferably if it's in the Tactics style). One thing that comes to mind though; in OB64 there's also the tale of Danika which, I suppose could be covered in "Stone Cold Crazy" (i.e. her birth, and eventual descent onto the Underworld, etc.). "In the Court of Ming the Merciless" would have huge potential for the introduction of new classes which would be exclusive to that region. If only SE took note. 👀
I like to imagine that the saga of main episodes should deal with the main subject: the war of humans against ogres and the main characters involved in this story. Nildham's story is interesting for the drama, but I don't see room for ogres in the narrative, which is why I put it as a side-story. Anyway, they're great narratives ready to form a game
Ogre Battle is a great franchise, they could make a new game AND profit from it. I don't know exactly what the problem is, but the release of Reborn brought hope
Hello Warren. I am a Chilean fan of the Ogre Battle saga. A few months ago, I created a game using RPG Maker MV for Nintendo Switch called 'Ogre Battle Series.' It covers the first 6 chapters of the original game and narrates the story in RPG style. I would love for you to try it out!! Sending you greetings!
One possible spinoff that could be neat is something related to the Abyss or the Heavens. The day to day activities there are relatively unexplored. Wonky time shenanigans aside, it could be interesting to see how the creatures of the Abyss interact and squabble. Especially since there is still a physical presence of Orcs in the regular world.
A great idea my friend, maybe some story in which the character is a demigod (alluding to the story of Hercules)? The way things go in the abyss is basically war war and more war, but something different would be nice too!
@@WarrenReport I imagine the abyss would have interesting opinions on Lyuneram (Ice goddess) since if things had gone slightly differently she might be there too. Her opinions on Demunza could also be good drama, especially considering she is known for being "cold".
You know for me personally og64 is the one they should remake I play it on my phone so it never leaves me , but I rather them do episode 8 as a game , and if they wanted make 1-4 as books or something cause God knows how long we would wait to see them as games
I love this! I want to see the wars between Heaven and the underworld. I actually would love to see very short mini games covering events like the story of Berthe and Danika as well as how it got corrupted into the false tale of her being successfully rescued, Rashidi falling into power madness with Kapella and Albeleo/Radlum also being led astray (and using him for their own respective ambitions of necromancy and reincarnation) while Saradin sees everything going wrong and end up "getting stoned" for his efforts. I want to see Mizal get seduced by Rashidi. I want to see that mermaid war in the Kastolation Sea. And I really want to see Frohm the Idealist's story fleshed out (I'm still mad about that stage!). I also had an in-my-head-only sequel called "Somebody to Love" after the song, but the plot was completely different and based on my own OCs.
These are stories with potential for great games as well as the main series. I only used the narratives that the games have already created to suggest new games, but certainly completely unique narratives and without correlation with the games already released would be incredible. Knight of Lodis is a great example of that.
Nice was just wondering if you gonna play 64 or games u like cause it would be cool with ya knowledge with your voice especially lot of videos with said games on almost as old as UA-cam
I was introduced to the Ogre Battle series by @Styxhexenhammer666, who says Ogre Battle 64 is his favorite video game. I have to say, having played and watched play of Final Fantasy Tactics, I'm really not impressed by the Ogre Battle storyline. I've watched videos of people playing through all the English-adapted games, and it feels like I wasted all that time on a story that ultimately went nowhere. Final Fantasy Tactics was *so* deep in its critique of history and religion and how the winners (or at least the survivors) often rewrite both, but Ogre Battle doesn't really scratch the surface except to put the character in torturous situations where sometimes the worst decision leads to the best consequences.
FFT is really a masterpiece in terms of storytelling, I believe the scope of the two games are different... FFT is much more general, and OB is more personal. But there's nothing wrong with that, the important thing is that we have great games overall!
Yasumi Matsuno is a big fan of Star Wars, so inspired by that he started the story of the Ogre Battle saga directly from episode 5. Episodes 1 to 4 were never released or even commented on their stories.
Which of these new games featured in the video would you like to play first?

Indeed!

Sorry for the double post but now, after seeing that other video in entirety, I NEED "In the Court of Ming the Merciless."
that sounds like it was AI generated

Dude we need you to work with whoever owns the OB copyrights. These games need to manifest into reality.
Get me the head of Square right away!!!
Seriously, give this man a job with Matsuno. They are willing to piss away so much money in crap games with no soul, why not take a chance in something that would be crafted out of love for the series.
Great stuff as always man!
Thanks my man!

i wonder if Matsuno still is willing to go back to the ogre battle saga games or if he completely moved on
I think the release of Reborn might be an indication of something.
@@WarrenReport was he involved in Reborn? AFAIK Matsuno been long gone from SE and is doing independent work
What a wonderful thought exercise this was.... I can only hope SE and Quest watch this video.
I hope so!
If only square enix call Matsuno for a new entry in the saga... corpo managers only care about profits now.
Ogre Battle is a great franchise, they could make a new game AND profit from it. I don't know exactly what the problem is, but the release of Reborn brought hope
These are amazing ideas! I really want to play these.
Me too hehehe

Hello Hello friend! It would be an honor, but I don't have nintendo switch, how could I do to get access to your game?
I'm very excited to play this new version but I don't know when it comes I would be alive or not in this life battle😔
Having hope is our duty as humans!

Hope is the last thing to die friend, until then, let's use our imaginations!
Your deep knowledge about Ogre Battle world lore, and ideas for future releases makes me wonder that was a former Quest member. Hahahaha
Good assumption, but unfortunately not... just a passionate fan of the series hehe
Desearía vivir en el mismo universo en el que estás especulaciones sobre nuevas entregas de la saga sean reales
I'd like to see these games made before im gone would even help with the monsters.
Me too, just ask the owner of Square to put me in charge and lets do it!
FINALY, thank you so much!
You're welcome friend!

Couldn't think of a place to message ya but what games are you currently playing or other game play videos u gonna upload maybe with commentary
Hello Hello friend! At the moment I'm trying to finish 100% of the events in Reborn, but it's not been easy!
Nice was just wondering if you gonna play 64 or games u like cause it would be cool with ya knowledge with your voice especially lot of videos with said games on almost as old as UA-cam
Tactics Ogre: Another one Bites the Dust when?
I couldn't think of a good story for this title.
Yet.

What happened to episode 1, 2, 3, 4 ?
Yasumi Matsuno is a big fan of Star Wars, so inspired by that he started the story of the Ogre Battle saga directly from episode 5. Episodes 1 to 4 were never released or even commented on their stories.
Is that your actual voice?
Maybe
Dang. How do we get you the rights to the Ogre Battles Franchise??
I hope that someday Square will release it for us hehehe
Just curious…. Did George RR Martin know any of these people who wrote for the ogre battle series?
Not that im aware of... why?
The titles were trash. Concepts were good though
I looked for inspiration in the titles corresponding to Queen's songs, as it was originally thought for the saga
I dunno, Ride the Wild Wind is a pretty badass name. I would buy that in a heartbeat 😂
I wish every day of a reborn for the N64 and GBA ones, oh boy i wish, even more then a continuation that i already gave up
You're with luck my friend, check out this post: ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1JWqy9IAKnLRZjn2LKgvtHtWGcQbnV95
