I couldn't have asked for a better video, I'm in the process right now of doing a head gasket and I already have my intake off. You showed me every single bolt that I need to gain access to take the valve covers off to gain access to the heads. Much respect and thanks for the upload.
Thanks for the great detailed disassembly. I did this job 5 years ago to replace all the coolant pipes/hoses. Now it has an intake manifold leak and I've got to do it again. 5 years is too long to remember all I had to do, so this was really useful.

Hey bro.thanks for recording the removal of that engine I watch because I have a leak in the back side of my engine..... That was a well watch video I learned a lot... Thanks again 👍
@@letsdoitourselves5322 I have a leaking fuel line in the rear of engine passenger side. can't get to it. any suggestions on how? thanks, the only video I ve seen worth a shit
@JustinBusby-qx4no probably have to lower subframe with engine and everything attached to gain room. How I would do it.. Remove air intake. Put car on Jack stands on the body. Put a large Jack under the subframe. Unbolt subframe. Lower Jack slowly and see what I need to remove for more access if anything. If I need to drop it any lower than a few inches I’ll probably remove the calipers and unbolt the shocks from the towers.
Bruh I bought one of these on impulse in Florida a few back at an auction and I have been hesitant to ship it here to NC. This video gave me the confidence to ship it knowing that the engine removal process is not that hard.
The fuel line that goes across the manifold can just be unscrewed on both sides? (I know there shouldn't be any pressure in the system after the car has been off for a few hrs)
Was it a hidden bolt in the back of the bellhousing because I'm having a hard time getting the transmission loose from the engine it won't break loose I have all the bellhousing bolts out but the top seems to be stuck like it's a boat somewhere heading
You need to leave them all in and hand loose and then take them out. Leaving one bolt until last will cause it to be under greater strain and harder to remove. .
Depends if your waiting on parts or not.. but usually this car and most cars 2 days tops 10-16 hours probably of work and staring at parts.. it can be done in a day with this video if you don’t break anything and have to source parts
Did you have any codes or anything? I replaced mine but won’t start. The ignition comes on but that’s all. Thought it was the starter but the same results with the new starter. Any ideas?
It should fire right up no codes unless u forgot to plug something in or have a bad sensor.. check the ground wire for the starter mine isn’t shown connected on video.. check cam and crank sensors.. double check any wires easily accessible.. sorry for late reply
Depends on tools available and time. It’s usually max 12 hours with 4 hours a day non stop work for 3 days but can be done quicker I think I put this engine in the next day but I didn’t have to pull a donor engine which is part of the 12 hours

How long would you say that job takes? I have to do the same thing to my 2016 XF, first time having to work on it
Can be done in a day with pro experience 3 days with common sense and a week if your waiting on parts or lazy
Great video, will definitely come in handy, thank you 🙏🏻

I probably should have said I have a buddy that has a parts car and the engine will be $1000.

If your asking then yes it can just be unscrewed and this one didn’t have any pressure

Good job. Your fast. I'll be doing a XJ swap soon and could not find any videos on it. This video gave me alot of good tips. What city are you in?

Not my car I really couldn’t tell you
How you take the wipers after you took the bolt
Probably force if I didn’t record it it wasn’t a step so it might’ve just came off
Doing this to a 2011 xf, currently at the process of taking off the fuel lines. can I msg you when I have any issues later down the line ?
If you still need help just comment..
Great video 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Appreciate it bro 😎
Thanks for the info currently doing a head gasket passenger side
That’s why I made the video so people can have a blueprint even if they’re not changing the engine
Is that a all wheel drive?
No RWD
I to the author, I am curious if after the install you had to hook up a computer and "program" certain "coded" items? If so was it hard to do?
No it was plug and play
