      Try this! Make sure nothing can run into the cylinder and spray a rust buster on top of the injector. Use the whole can if you must. Let set 12 hours and clean up all the spray.
      Use a LP torch or a welder to heat the area around the injector really hot!!
      Keep the injector as cool as possible.
      This should expand the block and give more clearance. You may want to do one at a time so they don’t cool off
      DO NOT TORCH THE RUST SPRAY!
      Most times heat will get something stuck loose!! Hope it works!!😊

Maybe with just a tug. That trick is so crazy I could put the hydraulic drive motors back together without a 15ton press. Yep, freeze em and they dropped right in then when the parts warmed back up the only way you are going to get them out is with a press. The pins for the booms? Dry Ice the pin and slips in or out like it is too small for the job. Caution, Don't touch with your bare hands. Good luck. GC

    The slide hammer needs more mass and slide travel to bulid up the force.

    Is there a reason why you went straight to tear down? I don’t know much about LR/JAGS, but seems simplest first step might have been to try some HEET, Barrymans, or Seafoam top end treatment. It may have cleared up the stuck injector, and then no tear down necessarily. Granted it could have happened again if the injector was failing, and been a bandaid solution. At least if they do fail again you can get the parts replaced under FCP’s warranty.

    @Samcrac I feel your pain Bro😂😂😂
    I had a 2011 5.0 Supercharged that needed timing chains and top end rebuild. I picked up a set of Harbour Freight 14pc slide hammer and I modified one of the attachments tip by opening the gap enough to slide under the nipple. It did better since it was heavier than the loose "injector tool I was depending on.
    It busted all the injectors for fraction of the price I paid for the required tool.

    I'd be putting just a lil dab of white lithium grease around the sealing point of the injector when installing the new ones so they aren't so hard to remove the next time... 🤷‍♂️

    • @HksF16
      @HksF16 Рік тому

    Aother suggestion would be put a load of tension on the cherry picker and add force with the slide hammer, even if you had to modify it first. I wonder if the factory uses some hi-temp grease when they install these? Sometimes a dry install is actually better - I've known Coppaslip to dry out and act like glue.

    This is why you should always use a premium fuel like Shell V power or BP ultimate in cars like this. Cheap fuel is just not worth it in the long run.

      Fake news. Have you ever owned one? The issue that he’s having is a wear and tear item that only happens on higher mileage Rovers and JAGUAR’s any of these high-end brands have a specific issue with their engines it doesn’t matter the make or model they all do I’ve been at Rover and Jaguar for over 20 years. I will admit the biggest issue that the jags and Rovers have especially in the 5.0 timing chains.
