Here I have a 2001 Honda Accord with a high hanging idle that also often surges from 1000-2000 rpm. In this video I explain how I went about cleaning it. I made this video because many other videos just say spray some carb cleaner it there, scrape out the crud, slap it back on and your good but for me and many others that didn’t work so before you give up check that the valve isn’t stuck or if ...

Hey I having this problem but mines pouring out gas from that nipple so I just ordered a OEM 1 the whole assembly, would this cause my bike to sputter and starve for gas ?
It’s the return line so it sucks in gas while running if yours is spraying while running I’d check for a pinhole in the hose
@@letsdoitourselves5322 I filled my tank full yesterday to find out it leak all of it I mean all of it , it’s not leaking through the actual nipple it self where the hose connects but through the small crack on top the nipple if that makes sense could that cause it to starve for gas ? I replaced my pump , coil , spark plug , and fuel injectors and it seems like it starving for gas I have a video on my page
Mines not leaking it’s fucking pouring out gas literally everything
Mine has a lot of vibration on the geared wheel, over 30 mph, I can't seem to find the cause
If you have a friction centrifugal clutch you have to shorten the spring by a link or 2 to get it to idle in place without clutch engagement and then try oiling it before you ride, it will take off a little slower but run smoother.. the shaking you describe for me is usually the clutch biting and most videos say don’t put oil in the clutch but they don’t have this setup and I’ve been doing it for years on the same clutch that was brand new when first installed. My chain purposely has a good amount of play in it as well not enough to come off the sprocket tho.
@@letsdoitourselves5322 It has a friction clutch, my chain has a bit of slack in it, but I have a spring tensioned roller that takes out the slack, that is the configuration that I changed to today. Before I had the chain tensioner mounted in a position whereas the roller was pushing the chain outward clamp to the fender support, it had a vibration in the geared wheel also. The clutch works well, I have no problem with it disengaging
@@wireeye2003 it’s not that it’s not disengaging it’s that it’s slam engaging if that makes sense.. only thing I can say is give the oil a shot worst that can happen is you gotta get another clutch.. I went through 3 clutches the first year before I realized a little oil was the trick and I keep some in a small bottle with me if I go on dirt roads and bike trails cause long distance and dirt make the oil wear off
Hey man quick question is it two rubber gaskets??
Na just 1.. if you’re referring to the comment where the guy said he forgot a second o ring he just had the wrong size 1 o ring. You gotta verify where your leak is this is a specific gasket that is common to leak and other than this video isn’t supposed to be serviceable most people with no budget spend the $250 for the new pump and housing vs this gasket that comes out of a $10 kit and takes an extra 15-30 minutes of ingenuity.
Dude can you tell me how it handled for you and how was it taking off from a stop...???... parts list if you can.. .did you reinforce the frame also and are you happy with the clutch??...appreciate your time...how did you eliminate the shakes ???
@@garbo3682 with the handling it kind of depends on what your expecting out of a trike being that the turning is the hardest part cause you have to slow down a good bit and lean towards the turn without leaning the bike.. try leaning the bike while turning to fast and it can snap the frame or flip. I welded the rear end to the front with a couple pieces of rebar to help with shaking at higher speed. The shaking in my previous video was caused by a bad centrifugal clutch. The shakes start to come back if I don’t oil the new clutch every other ride. A torque converter would probably be a smoother ride if you can make that fit. This takes off smoothly it’s not a race bike but will still do 50 mph but it’s scary and hard to explain why. Basically the only drive wheel is the rear left which makes it want to make a right turn at 50 mph while your keeping the wheel straight. There’s more to it but hard to explain. If you just want to cruise with the kids to the park or to the store or I even cruise a few miles down the bike trail, then this is the trike for you. Only thing is you gotta figure out brakes for yourself cause what I mention in this video about the rear brakes is still relevant and happened recently where I used the rear brake while going too fast and it started to twist the axle and dismounted the sprocket so it was free spinning. For parts I think rear sprocket is 60T and clutch is 11T The chain is #420 Predator 212 engine 70” throttle cable and twist throttle Nuts bolts metal and a welder would be the rest I think. The only things I purchased were the cable and throttle and the chain everything else I had laying around so prices very

How easy it is to do a engine swap from a donor car?
Depends on tools available and time. It’s usually max 12 hours with 4 hours a day non stop work for 3 days but can be done quicker I think I put this engine in the next day but I didn’t have to pull a donor engine which is part of the 12 hours
@@letsdoitourselves5322 Oh ok. We have one XF with too many broken things. We got scammed unfortunately by a seller who promised it's all clean and for whatever reason we didn't do a proper check because of "reasons" It has a lot of faults like BCM doesn't work and much more

?
I do two stroke motors but im currently expermenting with 4 strokes three wheel is what i want to do.
i cant seem to get enough clearance on my 22 inch to get the valve out. thinking i might have drill the rivets
I know this is a late reply but I hope you got it sorted 😊
Where do you find that nipple in the O-rings?
This vids def help me on where and how to put my motor on my 1968 Schwinn town and country. I recommend putting a springer fork or a triple tree with suspension to keep the frame from snapping under vibration.. I had a 5hp Honda on a sit down scooter and it snapped 3x on the bars the seat post and every motor mount. One time the fork snapped while I was doing like 35 mph. Luckily I caught it before I crashed but having such a stiff frame and no suspension is what made it crack and snap everywhere.. I’m doing the 212 on my 68 town and country and going to just have it do the one wheel but also I’m putting a springer fork on and trying to find some fat tires and rims for the back. I’ve even considered going go cart axle and pit bike rims so I can have the disk brake and better made wheels but the issue is they would be much smaller wheels and may look weird
Thanks for watching glad it helped.. it’s a hobby bike that started with things I had laying around mostly so I don’t invest too much into it unless I feel it’s worth it and I’ve already had all the same ideas you’ve mentioned.. starting with the springer fork they’re kinda pricey but I do plan on doing that one day if I find one at a flea market or cheap and it would be more for ride quality than breaking the frame that’s was driver error from me leaning to hard an going to fast on turns.. for fat tires on the stock axle you can either find some already made super expensive custom 24” rims and tires made for trikes or get some fat tire bike wheels and use the outer rim then get some aftermarket spokes and use your wheel hub from the trike rims. Go kart axle requires a lot more fabrication and is better if you wanna make a drift trike but not for a cruiser unless you fab a way to use bigger wheels like welding the stock axle ends on the go kart axle. My bike still pedals and has 3 pedal speeds the other video you commented on I was explaining the chain was off for repair.
Did you just give up on peddling? I’m thinking of ditching the peddles and just putting the motor on my 68 Schwinn town and country
Having a motor only puts a lot of stress on the clutch if you plan on cruising around at slower speeds and it’ll smoke after going to slow for too long.. I usually pedal to help me take off but it’s not 100% necessary as you see in this video
How you take the wipers after you took the bolt
Probably force if I didn’t record it it wasn’t a step so it might’ve just came off

thanks braddah! that helped me big time!
Great video, will definitely come in handy, thank you 🙏🏻
No problem nice channel.. I subscribed
This is awesome but i wouldn't last without a rear disc brake.😂🍻
Thanks one day I plan to add one
WHAT SIZE IS THE CHAIN , SO THAT IT WILL FIT THE CLUTCH TEETH ??
Depends on what size sprocket ⚙️ and clutch you have. mine is size 420 chain but there are multiple sizes.
Would love to see an update what im in the middle of doing is upgrading to a 3/4 axle instead of 5/8
I just ordered new tires for it they’ll be here Friday.. I usually respond to questions if you have any.. upgrading the axle is a good idea and something I’ll probably do one day.
This is like one of the best motorized tricycle builds I've seen you got the pedals properly set up good job.
Im havint a similar issue with a 2011 Malibu, the orange wire is hot, but i dont have a constant on the blue wire. Is it supposed to be a constant 5v or does it fluctuate?
Constant 5v with key off on blue wire
Actualy there is a tool for that
Yeah he just used a tool for that 😂
The reverse thread sockets suck 😊 I have some but like the welder.
Just what i needed to see, thanks man
Glad I could help

Be careful bro those are easy to tip over with pedals

I'm sick of GM wiring problems. It's like the first thing I check now. Instead of part swapping just stick a multi meter on there and save a ton of time.
Thanks for the info

How did you convert your measurements? I have a different bike and I measured and my readings were a little different from yours, how do I pick the right size o ring?
This is the set I used www.harborfreight.com/382-piece-o-ring-assortment-67554.html I used gasket 110 in this set. Using the caliper I took a measurement of the inner diameter (ID), outer diameter (OD) and thickness of the old gasket. Because the gasket is worn it’s not exact but I rounded to nearest mm and converted into fraction of an inch on Google because I couldn’t find a gasket that would fit with mm dimensions. Then I looked everywhere online for either the right size or and assortment and above 👆 is what I found.
This video save me 700 dollars good on yaou man!
I gotta Mer. 49cc 4 stroke 3 wheeler. Small and plenty power.
Sounds perfect.. When I originally made this I got a mini bike with a trashed frame for $10 and used the engine from it.. I originally had a motor scooter with 49cc 4 stroke I was gonna use but sold it. I don’t use this for transportation just to take my kid to the park near my house but I’ve taken it a few miles at a time no problem.
Thanks for the great detailed disassembly. I did this job 5 years ago to replace all the coolant pipes/hoses. Now it has an intake manifold leak and I've got to do it again. 5 years is too long to remember all I had to do, so this was really useful.
Glad it helped
How long would you say that job takes? I have to do the same thing to my 2016 XF, first time having to work on it
Can be done in a day with pro experience 3 days with common sense and a week if your waiting on parts or lazy
Great video 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Appreciate it bro 😎
New subscriber brother what part of the world are you in?
Sacramento ca
I’m on the other side of the country gulf coast of Florida happy building brother
Nice I got two projects going now both trikes
Mann been dealing with this single little Bi*chass leak for 6 months keeping me from my R1! Even after replacing the nipple O ring and smothering it in fuel glue it STILL leaks. Realize now I think I forgot to put the 2nd O ring on the inner nipple piece 🙃. But there's gotta be a way to just drill a metal piece in place and call it a dam day. Ughhh Yamaha you sucked on this one! Great video bro. Will pull it apart again for the umpteenth time tonight and 🤞🤞🤞
I did see someone jerry rig a metal hookup on theirs when looking for replacements on ebay. What do you mean second o-ring? I plan on attempting this since mine is leaking really bad
@@MrHalfanEar I did see some with a metal bung attached. Looks promising but I was actually able to get mine back out despite a boatload of superglue and get to the oring inside again. It's noticeable smaller than the one i took out. Thinking my seal wasn't good enough but after watching the video and seeing there's not 2 orings he just out the one off the nipple into the hole at the end to show fitment. Thought I way have missed one. Definitely gonna try again with a better more tight fitting oring and also JB Weld that biatch this time. Lemme know how your turns out. Still can't believe this stupid "nipple" leak is only thing keeping me from riding SMH
@@erikadkins225 I ride regardless but it definitely would be nice to fix. I’m going to get the same kit and use the same o-ring the guy did. If not I might buy an eBay one and try to reuse the nipple since none of them come with it.
Mine didn’t leak while riding.. just my 2 cents
@@letsdoitourselves5322 I said the same thing but my friend said that it was probably just being pushed to a different spot from the force. Just replaced the gasket and still notice leaking but some of it came from the overflow valve so I’ll see in the morning
Same as my problem hope u fixed it and can i get rid of this hole and close it? I mean will it affect?
Not sure good question
where did u get the new harness?
Pick n pull
Just cut one from junk car or cut yours off and take to a electronic repair shop and see if they can fix it
