I am on this thread today to thank you, my 16 xf stopped tuning on this Thursday, tried jumping first time it worked so i said IT’s battery, got a new battery and when i opened the trunk removed the spare, all i can see is water, i was surprised to say the least, it shouldn’t be no water there, i emptied it, it’s was a lot of water, just like you said up to the bottom of the fuse box, i changed the battery and put everything back together, it started fine, at this point i didn’t think about the plug that was submerged in the water, i drove the car but as soon as turned it off, it doesn’t want to start, my key fob is not recognized, at this point i am giving up hope and i was calling the dealership for service. Last night i told myself let me check online to see if anyone had this happen to them. And voila the first video is your video. I woke up next day and cleaned the plug, and now the car is working perfectly. I even went ahead and returned the new battery and kept my old one.
Well done...this is how videos should go...NO crazy loud heavy bass music at different sound levels throughout the vid, straight to the point! Brilliant
Had exactly the same after using a powerhouse to wash my car.... Hazards going off whilst driving etc Unable to open the car with the fob. AA guy said the fuse box was under water and connectors corroded. Good video.
Usual place for water leak in boot is slam vents behind rear bumper, just need re-sealing. Think it can be done with small hands without taking bumper off.
You saved me from goin to the repair shop... I told my husband to watch your video after sending him it the first time .. I ACTUALLY MADE HIM SIT DOWN AND LISTEN TO YOUR VIDEO. HE FOLLOWED UR INSTRUCTIONS AND IT WORKED!!! THANK YOU
I'm having this problem 2x now, my repairman had me get a new starter each time. Its already back in the shop currently. Im giving him a call about this. I even told him about the faulty signals and lights. Hmm.
Hahah good advice, we get one last week with same problem, customer paid jaguar £2400 to change body control modules imo and programming but no luck, then they recovered to my garage and then I found same plug totally corroded, I connected directly band car started fine, now customers fighting to get money back from jaguar for failure to diagnose and for changing good to good parts

My 2012 XF got into a fight with a lamp post during a reverse park yesterday. LED tail light replacement is £300. New bumper plus fitting? I dread to think. Thankfully the bumper is reparable, otherwise I'd have been screwed. Going through the insurance probably isn't a wise idea on a car of that age, as it could be written off. Sometimes the touchscreen does weird glitchy things occasionally. Jag's aren't know for having great electronics. Just something us loyal Jag fans have to live with.
Interesting, will have to take a look. My issue is the 'warning battery not charging light' coming on from time to time, notably when the weather is damp or raining. After driving for a while and then a restart the light stays off.

These are stupid faults for a 6 year old car to have and its certainly a ridiculous fault from a luxury automaker like Jaguar. I can't understand how they get away with this crap
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Exactly my stupid Audi A8 is has so many electrical faults it’s a 5 year old car. Idiotic German engineering.🤦♂️
Jaguar is a reminder that higher cost doesn't mean better quality.
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Nonsense. They are pretty solid car the x250. Especially 2.2. This is water ingress issue.
That’s a known issue to jaguar mate has been for a few years now
Do you know where the water gets in? Thanks for the great comments 👍🏻🛠
