    Can’t imagine the Wizards particular portion of the purge was very forgiving... “Soooooo, those likely to fall to Chaos...👀”

      Yeah but sigmar should look at himself in the mirror (he's one of the most powerful magic user in the mortal realms.)

    The College of Mag.... I mean Collegiate Arcane. Who would possibly think of calling it the College of Magic? Not like they use the same artwork, base idea and name. Nope. None whatsoever.

    I didn’t imagine that a battlemage’s color/signature spell signifies where he was from.
    That’s not it.
    It signifies what he majored in in college.

      No, the signature spell signifies where he came from. The color signifies what wind of magic he specializes in.

    Servus 2+Tough,
    Thanks for your great videos. I also have a question: There are still rules for Bretonia on the AoS App, are they still alive in the lore?

    • @chrisaitken9775
      @chrisaitken9775 4 роки тому

      Alexander Dudek I don’t think they are, weirdly closest thing could be flessheater courts (as they see themselves obvs)

      @@chrisaitken9775 Very old comment I know, but there are a few novels that mentions Nations and Order of Chivalry through the Realm. The Spear of Shadow novels even mentions an "Order of the Breton".
      So technically, Bretonnia has its heir apparent (like the WE have the Wanderers) but no more model for it.

    I think the only part I’m disappointed in with CoS is that all these races that are supposed to have come together to live and strategize and fight together all still have skills and focus on their one specific race. A warden king couldn’t care less about a wanderer, and freeguild General couldn’t care less about dispossessed, etc.
    I would love to have seen some updates where a dispossessed general could synergies better outside of their race.

      VP Perf Isn’t that the whole point of allegiance and city abilities?

    • @voxkine9385
      @voxkine9385 5 років тому +2

      H240909 yea. The issue for me is that the lore of “everyone came together to figure out how to fight back” doesn’t match with the leadership’s focus only on their own.
      It’s more of a lore complaint than it is necessarily a mechanics complaint. The city does tie the races together, but I wish there was something on the battlefield that showed that unity.

    Great.
    I would like to hear sth about Dark Elves. Where do they come from. I thought Slaanesh ate them all?!

    • @GecktronLP
      @GecktronLP 5 років тому +1

      Dark Elves dont exist anymore. There are only Aelves.
      When Sigmar woke up in the Mortal Realms, there where already Humans, Duardin, Aelves, etc. Maybe they where re-created when the Realms formed, maybe they are the children of survivors of the world-that-was. There where a lot less Aelfes compared to the other races, so the new Gods of the Aelfes looked for the rest of them. And they found them. The souls of the Aelfes, resting within Slaanesh. Trough trickery, cunning and arcane machinery, the new gods captured Slaanesh and extracted the souls of there people.
      Thats where the Idoneth Deepkin or the Scathborn of the Daughters of Khaine come from. But the majority of the current Aelf factions are made up off normal Aelfs. There is no big divide between the factions originating from former High Elves, Dark Elves or Wood Elves models. A Witch Aelf from the cult of khaine doesnt hate a Wanderers Nomad Prince or an Annoited of the Phoenix Guard.

      @@chrisaurovilian4618 Lore explaination: The gods guided the development of their people. They formed them to replace what was lost.
      Meta explaination: Ofcourse GW keeps using good models but we are talking lore here. And the lore says these factions are new and NOT a direct continuation of the old societies.

    • @autumn5308
      @autumn5308 5 років тому +1

      @Chris Aurovilian
      When the new elf gods siphoned the elf souls from Slaanesh after he was captured they all had a claim to become their followers. Those who were Dark Elves were claimed by the God of Shadows, Malerion (who was Malekith) and his mother Morathi, who was not a god but a powerful sorceress nonetheless. They currently reside in Ulgu, the realm of shadows. Morathi claimed the souls which were the witch elves of the old world and is currently the prophet of Khaine, despite him being actually being dead.
      There currently isn't a true faction for the followers of Malerion, however the old world Dark Elves are still playable so its assumed they are just what they were but operating from the realm of shadows. I think its plausible that they will release an updated faction for the followers of Malerion, and they will probably be similar in appearance to Malerion, like how Morathi has followers akin to her, with the medusa/harpy aesthetic.
      Malerion became one with his black dragon mount so some of his followers are probably black dragon/dark elf hybrids or maybe shadowy elves akin to the mandrakes of 40k. At this point its mostly down to speculation because they haven't covered what Malerion is up to very much.
      The Morathi video on this channel covers all that lore.
      I'd also suggest looking at the Idoneth Deepkin videos, although they are truly Dark Elves they share a lot of their traits from old world fantasy. I see them as a faction which are an elaboration of the Dark Elf corsairs and they have awesome lore behind them.
      Sorry for my long ass reply, hope it helps!

    Collegiate arcane very good in principle, and I also bought the models as soon as they came out a couple of years ago. BUT, 80 years of training for knowing one spell?

    • @danielnorton833
      @danielnorton833 5 років тому +3

      I always figured that this was abstracted somewhat in game and that wizards didn’t necessarily just know one spell. Rather, that spell was the thing they could do consistently and quickly enough to wield on the battlefield.

      Their one spell, plus all of the spells of the realm they are in, plus a spell from the city's spell list, plus arcane bolt and mystic shield. That is quite a few overall.
