- Dune Imperium is an EXCELLENT board-game adaptation with an amazing AI. This is a great game. In this first video I go through how to play the game and explain the mechanics. In a couple of days I'll release a full solo play-through so you can see the AI in action.

I`m looking forward to this release, thanks for showing this.
thx das for explaining
Love this game. Own both board and digital version
Anyone know where part 2 is please? Enjoyed this one but can’t find the second where you do a single player game. Thanks.
Thanks for covering this.
My pleasure!
I've played the physical version of this game and didn't like it very much. I appreciate what they were trying to do: combine worker placement (like Agricola) with deck building (like race for the galaxy), but I don't think they quite stuck the landing. The way you have to use cards to place your workers makes it too random to plan your worker placement much in advance, and at the same time because your card play is so limited there's not a good way to cycle your deck to get to the cards you want. That said, it did look very nice and all the pieces were high quality, so not surprised to see that it got a good adaptation.
I think that is exactly the approach players are supposed to take - to curate their deck to make the best use of advantages they have. In the next video tomorrow I end up with a card that allows me to completely restructure my approach - which was really fun. It is really important to delete the right cards from your deck to get more of the results you need. That aspect is actually really cool.
Thank you, Das. I own the board game and think it's fantastic. I saw Battlemode playing this and while it looked fantastic, it was really hard to follow because the AI turns go so fast. This video allowed me to see what was going on. I'll probably end up getting it at some point.
Yes, the turns are a little fast but there is log so you can see what is going on. I was running out of time so didn't show much of that. The next video goes through a complete single-player game which will show more.
Problem with board games is that they are not so enjoyable played in single player vs AI, kinda makes me think that all the fuss about board games is about chatting around a table and mocking pals, that is once again the distorted perception of fun gave by multiplayer.
There are so MANY excellent solo board games that are truly excellent. Checkout a few: Frosthaven, Oathsworn, or countless others. The genre has really evolved over the years.
agreed boardgames are more fun when played with other people. That's the whole point, it's a social activity
Yes, that's true. Also I found that there was a bit of a disconnect about the scope of the possibilities because I couldn't sort through a physical deck.
A bit disappointing you ran the tutorial instead of a real game to introduce us.
Tomorrow a full play-through will be coming here on UA-cam. That will show from start to finish. I ran out of time to put both in the one video.
