I’d be interested to see a tier list of legacy leaders from base game and ix on the uprising format. Though that would require some extensive gameplay testing
I've been waiting for this!
Thank you.
Quite.... intriguing.
This List just Makes Sense. I wouldn't change a thing.
I would love to see some strategy guides for each leader and also general strategy guides for the game
These are coming. We feel we need a bit more time with each leader before the guides come out
@@hidden-assets awesome
I, like many, loved the base game and expansions and am considering this "sequel" highly. I'd be very interested in content on how you would mix the two OR reasons why you would keep them separate.
Thanks for the suggestion. This is something we're touching on in the next podcast, but it will be featured in a later video in January. Happy holidays!
How do you envision tournaments will go from that point onwards? What would be the "default" tournament mode? There's so many combinations of leaders, expansion and... now two base games, each with their own set of concerns - plus the release of a bit "late to the game" vanilla online specific client from the Wolf itself.
What's your view on it?
Speaking as the tourney guy, I would suspect the majority of Uprising comps will be just Uprising and no old expansions, at least until a dedicated expansion comes out. People will give the extra stuff a spin but I feel like more won't necessarily mean better.
@@BlackShadow993 Indeed that would make sense.
The only big question is - will one take over the "main even" play or will 2 will be played concurrently and then just kind of adjust if one will be massively more popular.
I must say, as much as I love the game - it is REALLY weird way of releasing/maintaining a product.
@@AllinWhenPlaying I'd be speculating at best really. Time will tell.
Funny, as I still didn't have the chance to play Uprising, but having a look at all imperium row cards and contracts and intrigues + board spaces, my tier list is almost identical, the only difference being, that I put Jessica much higher. But I guess, that you are right, and she is much more dependant of the board state, imperium row cards and availability of recources.
But time will tell, and she might move up!
I have a question about the Emperor's ring, what happens if you deploy troops with your first action and then play your ring on the second one? Are the troops staying in the conflict?
Well, there is no such thing as "actions." Each turn is you take an Agent Turn or a Reveal Turn. If, on your first turn, you deploy troops with a recon, that's a separate turn than your next one, when you play your ring.
Cool list, what's you oppinion on adding ix to imperium?
I have tried it once. My thoughts are mixed on it. Maybe it's a good addition, but it feels like shipping is too strong for Uprising. We will discuss this one a future podcast in depth
My gut feeling is that Immortality would fit better with Uprising.
Are the original and Rise of Ix leaders compatible with Uprising? Thanks.
Most are. The ix leaders that use shipping or ix tech symbols are not without using the expansion boards.
Shaddam’s ring can go shipping using 3 spice for 2 solari and 2 faction bump - feel like that’s pretty good -
It seems a decent way to play him into, double spacing, deep desert, start shipping
@@BlackShadow993 Also true! If you get him in like 2nd/3rd position and can go double spacing, you'll be the only person with 3 water on turn 2 - deep desert for 5 spice - go shipping turn 3, and try to pick up some extra solari somewhere, maybe spice refinery so you're ready for swordmaster by turn 3/4 - probably just entirely ignore sandworms
I also agree with your video that to get the most of Shaddam, you probably need to pick up at least 1 of his contracts, preferably both and fulfill them at the same time, so maybe the first couple turns can be dedicated to also starting to set that up - it'll be interesting to try this all out
@@Youssef-qb3cx The recall agent one is pretty decent, double draw maybe not so much.
@@Youssef-qb3cx I played Shaddam twice this weekend, solo I should mention. I thought the 4 spice to visit Sadakaur was pricing and meant I couldn't go to Shipping, a 3 spice cost. Its fun to Ring to Shipping, pay 3 solari and get 2 influence bumps. I also starting farming solari from Spice Refinery to fund trips to High Council using the green access card that allows you to send any troops acquired directly to the conflict. Three troops in the conflict, 2 spice and an Intrigue for 5 solari! Oh my.
@@thejimmieg i wonder if the Sardaukar contracts become a trap where you feel like you need to do it because it’s part of your leader and it causes you to do less optimal plays
I think fenring is very flexible and I think is S tier and I think Maud'dib can be hit or miss if get hard blocked he's a passiveless leader
All good points
But if he gets worms even twice his passive has generated more value than anyone else's ever will, and if people are going out of their way to block him from getting the worms then they're probably playing worse for their own goals
@@tastytastypieMuad'dib has to be counter played in matches, otherwise he can spiral
I had an Amber game where I got round 3 spacing alliance, shuffled and drew my ring a lot (got 3 spice from it total), and still I needed insane luck to win round 7. Maxed out her potential, she is just weak. If you like Amber, play Shaddam instead. Her passive is not that useful as it might appear. If it triggered at the start of combat, then she could be okay. However it is often just putting in 1 troop then retreating it because everyone else beats you anyways (without effort) or the 4th person doesn't even go in, so no real value. Also doesn't help you if you want to win the conflict. D tier, worse than any leader (even in base/ix).
If everyone else beats you in combat without effort, then you're not retreating hard enough. ;)
@@hidden-assets By that I meant that everyone else has more swords than you, so you'd be 4th anyways.
Muad'dib closes games too quickly with all the other mechanics that benefit from doing combat unless Feyd is in that game too so, I would move Feyd to S-tier (behind Muad'dib) do to the fact he benefits from knee-capping Muad'dib. Other than that this is pretty accurate on the ranks. Good video btw!
I hate Feyd-Rautha from Dune book, but as leader looks good :D
He's really fun.
I feel like all of these leaders should move down 1 tier with respect to how powerful some of the base game leaders are compared to the Uprising ones
I might do one with ALL leaders, eventually.
The board and card changes nerf the base game leaders too!
I love shaddam CJ so I'll only boycott that one for now
I believe you he's great. I just need to see it/play him more.
