    Hello, you can rebuild the broken plastic piece using polyvinyl acetate to join them, then on the surface you put a little more of the glue and put baking soda on it, it will dry and it will be like a plastic weld. I have used it to rebuild the handle to open the door from the inside and it has been used for three years without breaking. You can try on different types of plastics before doing it in your car. I hope it helps you.

    It breaks because its linked to the vents to make a cool box or hot box. Heating and cooling weakens the brittle plastic and there you go , new one is about 60 squid so I've left mine and blocked the vents to improve the blower.

      Yeah it’s quite a flaw. I have the refrigerated glove box, which makes much more sense as it out of the sun too.

    try heat plastic wleding. I used that technique with a headlight mounting and works brillant, the result is a weld much better than stock!!

    I've got the same problem and the noise it makes vibrating when loose makes it sound like it's coming from the engine! Thinking about getting some mastic and sealing it down.

    Superglue and baking soda, or Supafix (same principle). Will turn hard as nails and will hold it together. Scuff plastic first. Held on my G over 3 years now. Was identical to this video. Even does the small catch.

    Been having a go fixing this. Mine was actually more broken than your one. It was cracked across where Dowl was as well. Should the spring end to bottom piece be held in place or should it be able to move slightly on one that works normally? Does it fit in to a little hole on an unbroken one? Also when someone has fixed it have they glued any part of the spring in?

    • @cranswil
      @cranswil 2 роки тому +1

      When I went to put it back together got it all in but then bit of glue I'd fixed started to move again unfortunately when back under spring. Was only popping up a bit. So took it out but when I did that hole where long end of screw went snapped too. So failed like you. Time to give up now glad to have tried. I Found using a small metal washer quite successful at securing bottom piece of plastic back together it fitted perfectly. Also managed to push metal piece out if you pick a bit of glue with screwdriver and then can push it out of where it's stuck. The other metal piece on other hinge comes out by turning with pliers I found

      @@cranswil good morning. I feel your pain. I know when I’ve tried to glue and fix things like this before it’s just failed again very quickly hence why I didn’t bother, but good effort for giving it a go. I think there may be some other comments below where people have tried different things.
      Have a great day. New video comes out later today 😉.

    Hello, Ive got a Giulietta with a buzzing noise at this exact part of the interior, and I'm 99% sure its just a small piece of plastic thats buzzing around. The problem is that I've got a version with the portable TomTom navigation unit. This means that my storage box simply isn't there, so I can't reach those 2 screws. Do you know if there's another way to remove this piece?
    Sorry for my English btw, Im Dutch :)

    • @vialettotony

      Hi Thomas I've just bought a Giulietta with a Tom Tom except the Tom Tom does not go past the Alfa logo and I've also got the exact same buzzing sound. Have you managed to sort out the sound.

    • @thomasabcd2641
      @thomasabcd2641 8 місяців тому

      @@alainbauristhene6427 Yes I did eventually. I found out that the cover right behind the TomTom mount can be removed with force. I grabbed it with a hook at the edges and removed the piece in a whole. It did break the panel so I bought a used one from ebay for 100 euros. You can access the 2 screws there and remove the rest of the panel.

      @@NiM44 ah I see. I know people have sometimes put a small screw in to the lid and the head acts as the clip. Obviously it needs to be the same size as the clip. Quite creative and costs nothing more than 1 small screw. I’m not sure you’d be able to buy the clip separately. Hope that helps. All the best 👍
