- So i was searching for a good instruction video about how to install a bluetooth adapter behind my radio but i couln't find one. So this is why i decided to make one myself and i've added the dashboard removal as well, cus it's an essential part to remove before installing the adapter. So i hope that i can help a few people out with this instructional video.

ATTENTION: IF YOU HAVE THE USB/AUX OPTION, THERE WILL BE NO DUMMY PLUG. So you can choose yourself if you want to unplug it and switch it with the adapter. what you also could do is integrated the wires of the AUX/USB plug into the adapter. it's entirely up to you, so just a heads up!

just installed it in my 2010 giulietta. works perfectly. very easy install in less than 10 min. Only remark: volume seems to be lower than radio or media playback via usb. Audio quality is good. blue & me works fine and I can receive calls without any problem.

Hi, you could add in the description that this adaptor is only suitable for radios without the USB+AUX option, because with this option, you cannot plug the adapter into the radio because there is no 'dummy plug'.
Ow okay thanks for the info! So you do not have the sat av just the aux and usb input, which causes no dummy plug to be in the radio? What you could do is pull out the plug of the usb and aux and add the wired intocthe adapter or just leave them out, that's entirely up to you. Thanks Brandy!
@@Xalpha hi, yes exactly. The problem is that I cannot simply pull only the plug which is connected to USB and AUX because the plug is not 'separated' but is one solid piece which houses other contacts as well.
I think in that case this adapter does not make sense because there are adapters at Ama*** which plug into the aux and USB ports in the glovebox. There are even some for half of the price of this here.
@@brandy3312 Yeah i think in your case the adapters that plugin directly into the aux or usb would be more suitable.
This is not true. I have a 2011 Giulietta without nav, but with USB + AUX. I have two seperate plugs, that are connected to eachother with a click & slide mechanism: A grey plug and a blue plug. You can just remove the two plugs from the back of the radio, seperate the blue plug from the grey plug, connect the BlueMusic adapter to the grey plug and insert it back in the radio. Works like a charm

No problem was searching for it myself aswell and well i can insert a cd and just press until it says cd and it will start playing

Will the cd player still work after this?
Actually there is a bolt on that piece which one must unscrew, by pulling it pretty hard it will break the small piece of plastic the bolt is tightened to, as I just did 🤦
I'm sure i mentioned i had unscrewed these bolts and that it would be safe to unscrew them as it felt safer to me to do so, keep in mind mine is a 2011 Giulietta so i can't confirm that it works for other build years.
@@Xalpha In the 2013 model there is a single t20 torx screw hidden behind a rubber cap in the top of the glovebox, so you have to unscrew that first, And thx for the video, my Amazon purchase works just like yours :-)

Kind notice to Giulietta 2011-2014 owners. There IS A SCREW under the dashboard. It is behind a rubber cap so remove the cap and then the screw. If you tear off the cover without removing this screw first, you will break the piece of plastic to which the screw is attached. That't what we did... :( :( :(

@@Xalpha In fact the very screw hole in the dash board is clearly visible in your video at 1:04. An at 1:05 the plastic tab in the removed panel that the screw attaches to is also visible at the very right edge of the video frame. = Also your panel has been secured by the same screw attachment in your as we had :). If you did not remove the screw, then somebody else has done it before you.
= Also 2011 Giulietta owners must be corrected: You also must a) remove the rubber tab below the dash board and b) remove the screw that gets exposed. Only after that it is 100% safe to pull the panel out as shown in the video.
P.S. No real harm done on our Giulietta. Just the screw attachment currently missing underneath the panel. If the panel starts to resonate, I figure something out with my 3D-printer.

Hi, love your video it was very clear! I tried plugging the adapter into my radio but when I went to press the media button it says 'no sources available'. Would you know how to resolve this issue?
Mhhhh that's strange, have you tries plugging it back in to check if it's inserted correctly? It could be that there is no source available if you haven't connected a bluetooth device so if your phone is connected it should be okay to play some music.
mine says the same exact thing, i tried a bluetooth adapter and when i try to change from radio to the adapter it doesn’t let me.

Hi, it’s a good solution thank you for sharing. I have a question about steering whell button. When I share spotify to bluetooth can i change music as next or previous? Also can i see music name on radio information panel?
No problem i'm glad i could help. To answer your question, you can use the steering wheel buttons skip forward or backward but you can NOT see the song that is playing.

Yes it does, i can use the adapter and the blue and me system at the same time! :)

Yes you can!

Thanks man! Yes you can still receive calls on the blue and me when you are connected to the adapter. My phone is a oneplus3 and it connects the adapter and the blue and me on the same time so i can receive and play music at the same time. I guess it will work for other smartphone brands aswell.

Hi I've just installed this device i have the same model and year car with a cd player but when press media it says no source available I'm able to connect to the bluetooth device find tho do you need to have cd in the device by any chance ? Thanks

Yeah somebody else also got the same problem as you(down the comments). I suggest you take out the connector with the aux and usb and replace it with the adapter. OR you can try to add the aux and usb cables in to the bluetooth adapter. OR you can buy another adapter to put in your aux or usb port.
Hey, I've got a problem. I tried to install the adapter today but first, there was no CD cable in it (but I have a CD player in my Giulietta), and second, when I try to use it, there's a quite annoying beeping noise and only sound from the driver's speaker. It would be great if you could help me ✌️

Did your cd player work before you installed the adapter?
Mhh as it's beeming only from the driver speaker it would be obvious that the problem is due to the speaker and not the adapter. (I think, was the beeo there before?)

I tried to install this thing in my 2011 Giulietta. Everything looked exactly the same. However, apparently it didn’t work at all... Then I bought the AMPIRE BTR 300 over Amazon. If you have an AUX-Input I suggest you to buy this instead. It plugs in to aux and can be supplied with electricity over the USB-Port of your car, if you don’t have one you can also charge it over the cigarette-lighter. It functions perfectly and I can listen to music with Bluetooth!👍🏻
Well it's probably not the same as i have no AUX so that's maybe the differnce but glad it workked out for you!

I was just looking into getting some way to get a Bluetooth adapter in my Giulietta as well, and this is just perfect! I only have one question, though: when removing my radio I noticed that I don't have the blue and grey cubes you have (shown at 2:27 in the video). Be careful, this video is NOT accurate. There is a screw in the ceiling of the glove compartment that needs to be unscrewed before the dashboard removal. It is covered by a round cap, so therefore not immediately vidible. Otherwise you will break the backside of the dashboard (like I did because I trusted this video). It is unbelievable how this guy didn't see that.
i'm sorry to hear this mate, i really don't have the intention to give wrong information. I can say that in the video i mentioned that i've unscrewed the screws in the glovebox compartment to be sure i didn't break anything. For my knowledge this works for all the 2011 Giulietta's, and if you want to be certain just unscrew them like i did. I'm sorry this happend to you man, hope the dashboard isn't damaged that much :/

@@Xalpha Hi I just removed the Cap (like Nick writes) and found the screw, which is needed to be removed before you can remove the dashboard cover. p.s. My Giulietta left the factory in November 2011.
Same happened to me, I also broke the plastic yesterday. Should have read all the comments. However the cover still sticks firmly, even without that screw.
2011 Alfa and it DOES have that screw. You’ll see it when you loosen your panel and there is just one place where it’s still holding. The author’s front panel was probably not secured by that screw initially
Hi man, i bought a 2010 giulietta and it came with an adapter already installed but the quality isnt good and i cant use the steering wheel buttons. I was wondering what the sound quality is like with this and if u can use the steering wheel buttons. Also, my system has an annoying voice and noise that says “bluetooth” everytime i switch the car on. Does this adapter have the same?
Hi man, yes with this adapter i can still use the steering wheel buttons and still use the blue and me system aswell. The sound quality has improved in my opinion instead of the normal radio. Nope it doesn't say anything at all no, bluetooth connected or no connected or things like that.

Hi, nice to hear! I made a video to show people that you can use the CD player still will operatin the adapter so you can see what it displays there. If it has the normal radio with cd player (so no navigation, etc.) I believe it would work.

It does if you just don't connect the adapter through bluetooth, or it does so on my car.

Guys, be careful. My 2011 giulietta (non-UK market) had a mount of this panel in the right side of the dashboard, closer to the very right vent. The mount should have been unscrewed from the glovebox, but I broke it

What do you mean cd changer? I do have 2012 Giulietta with cd player working just fine, so this device you showed in the clip is about to work well with my car too?

Do a Bluetooth audio test, playing musinc and receiving phone calls. Can you change tracks pause/play from stereo controls or only from phone?
I can still skip tracks with my steeringwheel controls and don't need to use the buttons on my phone. For phonecalls i can still receive them and just end them with the steering wheel.

Yeah it does use the one from me the car and NOT my phones microphone.
I have two questions: Does it work with Grande Punto and when you turn off the car, does it turn off the power to the device?
To answer your first question. The second Amazon.fr link says it does work for a Fiat Punto so i assume it also does for the Grande Punto. You can check the build year at the lower part of the amazon page.
To answer your second question, yes it does. The adapter is powered by the radio unit which only works if the battery of the car is turned on. This means if you turn off the car, the radio will be turned off aswell as the adapter.

Hu Mine didn't work have the same model with a cd player when it connects to the Bluetooth device but when i press the media button it keep saying no media found ?
Weird, maybe press the CD button as this would also work. Otherwise, check if the adapter is plugged in the same way as mine did or check if the specifications are correct for your car.
Can you swtich the music with button on

Yes you can, you can still adjust the volume, the tracks and use everything on the steering wheel.

I have only one question, when you play music by bluetooth and shutdown the ignition and start de car in the next time, the music play automatically or you need manually play that on your phone? I want to connect automatically each time and change the music from the steering wheel, thanks in advance.
If you shut down your car and leave your bluetooth on on your phone it should reconnect intantly. It does so on my G.

I can not find any info about how to do this in my car. i have a different radio unit with no screen and a navi sys, no aux just a usb port. Anything i can do to get a Bluetooth adaptor hooked to my radio?
As i don't have that unit i can not help you directly but there is a Facebook group called "Giulietta ethousiasts" where i am part of and they have helped out so many people with different things maybe you can ask your questtion there?

No i could just do it with removing the bolts on each side and just pulled it out.

At 2:30 where you remove the blue block mine does not have this, instead it's one continuous block and has wires in the section which you essentially slide off. I can't find any info online regarding what this extra set of wires are. Not will the adapter fit obviously. Just wondering if you know any info about this? Thanks 👍

Hello I have a similar plug. I took that plug out completely and just plugged in the new Bluetooth receiver. On media on CD player coming up. It didn't come up on Bluetooth search on the phone. Anyway I put back the original plug. Now the radio doesn't work. All I hear is static. CD player works fine. All plugs and wires look back in place. I tried car on and off, reset the radio. Nothing helped. Only CD player works. Any ideas to get the radio working again?

I would suspect that this adaptor cannot be used if the car has the USB and AUX connectors in the glovebox. In that case it has the 'continuous block'.

I found a link with a used glovebox for like 50€ maybe you can use this from the replacement glovebox? I think if you search on parts sites for giulietta parts maybe you'll come across one.

Hi Francesco, it's still working fine in my car after almost 1 year. What do you mean by "which is the torx" if you want to know what bolds to remove the radio? There are 2 of them 1 on the left side and one of the right side of the radio. (After you removed the Fascia/dashboard)
@@Xalpha with the torx i mean the 4 bolts that keep the stereo in place, are they normal screw or special one?

@@judginglionn7056 Yes klopt! Wel ik heb niet echt problemen gehad met de blauwe adapter. Het was letterlijk plug and play zoals in de video te zien is. Ik denk als je dezelfde radio hebt zoals ik dus zonder navigatie dan zou dit gewoon moeten werken.

@@judginglionn7056 Wel bij mij zat er in de blauweblok die ik verwijderdde geen kabels. Volgens mij is dit omdat ik geen AUX aansluiting heb ofzo. Weliswaar is de adapter die ik er dan ingestoken heb ter vervanging van dit. Wat er dus gebeurd als je deze aansluit is als volgt. Je klikt de nieuwe adapter er in en dan start je de auto als normaal. Vervolgens druk je op de knop media waarbij er dan op de display van de radio staat CD Changer. Dan ga je op je telefoon naar de Bluetooth functie en zoek je Bluemusic. Verbinden en afspelen en zo zimpel is het. Ook werkt de CD speler nog steeds en ook het Blue and Me systeem voor hand free te bellen ook. Daarnaast werken alle functies nog op het stuur en kan je gewoon tracks van je spotify overslaan door de knoppen op je stuur. Volgens mij zit de nieuwe adapter dus in de poort waar de CD player aangesloten is. Maar doordat daar geen kabels voor nodig zijn achteraan is deze dus leeg en kan je deze dus veevangen door de nieuwe adapter. Hopelijk is de uitleg een beetje duidelijk. Laat gerust weten als je nog meer vragen hebt!
Does something stop working after instaling the adaptor? Does the normal radio, the cd and the usb port work or not all of them? I see that you said that blue and me works fine for calls.
No everything will keep working, i don't know for the usb as i don't have an usb in my car. But for the blue and me works fine with the adapter, cd's play as well as the radio.

So you mean you have installed the adapter and now you want to listen to cd's and you can't figure out how to do so?
@@Xalpha No. I can't select DC Changer and I have reset the unit. It doesn't seem to register that I connected the bluetooth.

What year is your Giuliette and does it have the SatNav? If it HAS the SATNAV it won't work. If it's just the normal radio display like in my car then it will work!

Honestly i don't, i always use it without a cd in it. But i think it will involve a problem when there is a cd in it so just take it out and use it like that.

Did the exact same thing but the sound is very unclear and only one side of my speakers work when i use the bluemusic. Does anyone know how to fix this ?
I think this problem is caused by one speaker cable not being connected (anymore) to the speaker itself.

@@bo1389 well it could be but i don't think it's due to the adapter i think one of the cables in your door is not connected (well) with the speaker head.
