    Thanks for advice, bought myself a cheap glass sucker thing off eBay for 4 quid which made job do able, followed rest of video but found didn't need to remove cowling, whole job took half hour and with sensor and suction pad cost £14, Alfa quoted 2 hours plus parts and warning mirror may break, thanks again Tony 🍻

    Hi Tony, thanks for this video. It was really useful and I successfully replaced the faulty sensor. Just a warning to others though. Inside the bottom of the wing mirror housing there is a section of plastic sticking up (you can just see it in a few shots). When I released the top clips from the mirror it pivoted and this plastic dug in to the bottom of the glass and cracked it. Everything else went fine and the air-con is working again. I suggest loosening the clips from the bottom, this would avoid what happened to me.

    Hi tony hope your well pal, my internal temp is showing blank and my AC stopped working. Checked ac compressor and its not spinning either. Would this be due to this temp sensor? I hoping so.

    • @vialettotony
      @vialettotony  3 місяці тому

      Hi. Yeah, most likely the fact that the temp isn’t reading correctly will stop the Compressor kicking in. The AC system is like the Stop Start on our cars. So many things need to be right for it to work. Lots of people have successfully changed their sensors and all has been well. Hoping you may be able to do the same. All the best 👍

      Hi tony just a update, i can confirm if the ambient sensor is not working and shows three dots ok dashboard instead of external temperature then indeed the AC clutch will not engage therefore AC will not be working. I have just changed the sensor and AC is back to working order. Only took me over a month to research and find this out. So hopefully whoever needs to see this, will make your life easier. 👊

    I noticed when the outside temperature is at about 10 to 15 degrees Celsius I need to set the heater way up to 27-28 degrees to warm my feets properly, it gets more logical when the outside temperature falls further to zero degrees or below, then 24 or 25 degrees on the scale inside is sufficient.
    I noticed this discrepancy during the summer months as well, just in the opposite direction, but it seems like this difference was not so pronounced with the 159 climate control which was more accurate.
    Does this means that the external sensor needs to be replaced, or this is how Giulietta climate control works (not so good really)?

      It can stop the entire A/C compressor from switching on if the temp reading is off enough. Specifically, if the sensor always reads super low the system will operate under the assumption that the outside temp is always below safe threshold to turn the compressor on.
