On our dpvs at work we fit elbows to all our outlets so when the caustic is running any sediment is pushed out to the floor. Might be overkill on the smaller tanks but saves having to take end caps off and give them a wipe.
The sample ports you can take apart in to bits. And you should as a lot of gunk gets stuck in there. We always take them apart and there is always something in it.

I use Ultrasonic on my carb stones, and it works well!
