- Ever since I started using more night-time actives in my skincare, my sunscreens had to become more powerful and also more gentle so as not to exacerbate any sensitivity and properly protect my skin. So many of my previous favourites, my skin could no longer tolerate during this phase. However, I’ve discovered some next generation sunscreens, ones that despite giving the highest, broadest protection, are sensitive to the skin and look good! I’m excited to share my most recent favourites which are not messing around. Unfortunately, as per usual, most of these are not US sunscreens but I’ve done my best to provide links to where you might be able to purchase if you are in the US.

Has anyone tried any of these sunscreens and what y’all think cause idk which one to but I have oily skin! 😩
@@alondra7356 I am currently using the Altruist sunscreen. It is soft and fluffy like whipped cream. It is cold and dry where I am ,at the moment, so I can tolerate it. But in summer it will be too heavy for me and perhaps for you since you have oily skin. I have the Klairs but have yet to open and try it. I can give you an update if you would like that.

Same! I really enjoy her videos, I tried watching Susan yara and Hyram videos but they give me so much anxiety because they talk so loud, extremely fast and in your face...I had to exit out because they made my anxiety so bad lol
Can I recommend something that I found soothes my anxiety completely, look up mulk by feysal on UA-cam. So soothing.
I love the fact that you reviewed both American, European and Asian brands. I'm currently using the one from dear klairs and I am in love but I find easier to make a choice (here in the Netherlands) when I can have your valuable experience over the brands I also have access. Thank you so much.

@@im__f0xy405 Just keep in mind that it is not water/sweat resistant. I dont know where you live but in the southern US it just slides off my face. I think it may be wonderful in the wintertime.

Wow! I've never seen any sunscreen in a mouse form. I have a very sensitive skin and I get breakouts with most of sunscreens. This sounds amazing. I would like to try the Evie one.

Thank you for all of this great information of sunscreens. I purchased the La Roche Posay Anthelios XL anti shine for my trip to Florida and also used a My Cushion with another sunscreen for retouching, and I have to say the Anthelios XL was fantastic and the cushion made it very easy to make sure I reapplied my sunscreen during the day. I came away with no burning or tanning and I am so pleased with the results.
I think I am the only person who actually likes to have a glowy, greasy sunscreen. My skin is super dehydrated and most of those velvety sunscreens just make my skin feel terribly tight. So if you want a super glowy sunscreen...the new Clarins Gel to Oil SPF ist incredible!

@@gothamista my base layer in the morning is eltamd uv clear and then I reapply every 2 hours (everyday... even if indoors) with the hada labo UV gel :)

This is a super useful video, and the glossary is amazing. Thank you! I'm trying the Purito (but the scented version because that doesn't bother me). I've also had great luck with the Kose Suncut UV protection ultra waterproof gel and essence formulas.

I LOVE EVY!! It's so so so amazing. You don't even need to reapply when you swim. I was on holiday in Mallorca for one week and didn't get sunburnt at all!
I also think I recommended Evy to you about a year ago! So happy you got to try it!

Thank you so much! My current favorite is the Hada Labo UV white gel. But because I wear makeup everyday for work, I reapply every 2 hrs. if possible with Sunplay Skin Aqua UV mist. I go through the mist so fast and constantly have to reorder from eBay. A sunscreen that lasts 6 hrs. is exactly what I need! 🙌🏼 So excited. U.S. needs to seriously step it up in the sunscreen dept.!
Wow, thank you so much Rene! I grabbed a few Evy and a few of the Ultra Solars. I am a huge devotee of Shaka Fluid from La Roche Posay. I purchased those before I even got to the Shaka in this video. Anything I can wear for 6 to 8 hours is MY kind of sunscreen.
Absolutely love EVY! Some other great things about EVY is that it can be used on the eyelids and right under the eyes with no issues!! Also can be used on hairline/scalp/hair! And is non greasy!! Also according to their website any serums you put on underneath are transported into the skin! Love it xxx

Happy you've found Evy! There's a face spf as well with hyaluronic acid that's amazing. I use one with spf 50 thats a bit more sticky but dries down nicely ❤️.
Also you should try nordic Aco mattifying face fluid spf 50. Another favorite 💕
I watched this Video solely because I know you're gonna talk about the Anessa mild milk. It's a vastly underrated sunscreen and I feel more people should know about it.
Long time favourite of mine even with the reformulations, it just gets better!

I have used ultra sun for many years. I love it. I have dark skintone and experienced no white cast
I am a huge fan of Ultrasun, amazing formulas. I use it as my day cream, don't put anything else under it, and just layer another tinted SPF over it if I want some coverage. The quality of the product is so good, I find it works on its own as skincare. They just released a new 100% mineral one too, which leaves a majorly white cast (!) but I layer a tinted mineral SPF over it, all fine ;)

I tried the Anessa Sensitive Skin from this list, and honey, listen...IT IS LIFE! I've just repurchased it and I don't plan on using a different sunscreen for a while. I wish they had it in 50 but I guess my darker skin tone allows me to get away with 35. It has been the best thing for my temperamental, highly irritated, volcanic purging skin and I'm so grateful for the advice. Thanks Renee!

Thank you for this awesome video Renée! I'm especially curious about Evy Tech. Dealing with mild Rosacea, my skin has become super reactive to nearly everything I've tried, with the exception of Colorescience Sunforgettable Brush, it's the only sunscreen I've been able to use. Even the mineral, milky formulas heat up my face, it's weird. A light mouse is of huge interest. Fingers crossed!
Thanks for reviewing the la roche posay sunscreens, I tried them instore and really liked their shine free sunscreen and Uvidea BB cream with SPF.
This video came in at the perfect time, you have no idea how much I was struggling to choose between Avène's fluid and La Roche-Posay's anthelios xl, for combination skin, but I think I made my choice. Thank you!!💜
Later edit: even though I have combination skin, it is also very dehydrated, which makes it hard for me to choose products that are still controlling sebum, but also somewhat moisturising.. this sunscreen is slightly drying on my skin and doesn't blend too well, which leads to foundation looking dry and feel unpleasant. I ordered a different sunscreen, I hope I will find one that works for me.

I've been using the ultrasun products for years on my eczema prone skin. I use the anti pigmentation face in the summer after my hyaluronic acid and vit c serum (you have to wait a few minutes after the serums prior to using the sunscreen), but in the winter I use their mineral filter over my moisturiser. They only introduced a mineral only filter last year but I really like it. They're marketed as a once daily sun filter which is fine here in Scotland, but you may need to reapply in extreme temperatures. For darker skin tones they do a tinted version which is a warm golden colour but very sheer. However I may have a look at some of the others you mentioned, as (a former staff nurse) I thought it was well researched and presented. Many thanks.

It's so interesting how everything sits so differently on people's skin. Since I couldn't get my hands on the Evy sunscreen anywhere, I ordered the Ultrasun spf50 Face Anti-Pigmentation sunscreen and the Extreme very high protection for sensitive skin sunscreen. I bought it for the 6 hr. protection. But I have to be honest, I don't like it at all besides the fact that it's supposed to be longer lasting. On my skin, yes, I feel that skin-gripping effect. But that's what I find most unpleasant. It's hard to describe. It just doesn't feel smooth or absorbed. I have normal to dry skin, and this takes too long to absorb. I don't have that kind of time in the morning as I'm not a morning person so I don't want to wake up any earlier to wait around before applying makeup. I don't like the finish it leaves, and I feel like my makeup doesn't sit as well over it. I much prefer my Hada Labo UV white gel sunscreen. I just wish that one had 6 hr. protection. Hopefully, EVY will ship to the U.S. soon. I'd be interested to try that one next. The search for the perfect sunscreen continues...
Amazing video. I always go with your recommendation. Can you do a recommendation for sunscreens that are reef safe? I dive a lot and def would love nice options that aren't harmful to the corals and fish.
Wow! That Swedish brand Evy you talked about- I’ve actually just bought it before watching this and it really is excellent! I actually live in Sweden and found out about it through my partner’s mother who read about it in a local magazine. I love the texture so much.

I've been using a brand called Moogoo for a few years now, which is a natural brand here down in Australia and they recently came out with a zinc-based sunscreen which is so great for my sensitive skin!! I finally found a sunscreen that doesn't break me out! 😭
I also love their milk wash - both the normal and baby versions. I always gift a bottle of the milk wash to any of my friends with skin issues because it honestly helped heal my skin so much.
Highly recommend you to check it out - also for anyone who really struggles with sensitive skin like me! ♥️

Me! I love shaka fluid buy now I use dermo-pedriatics lotion 50+ which has 5 times more product at almost same price. PPD (UVA protection) of shaka is a little higher. Tip: Kids vesion of the 250ml lotion has higher PPD than the adult version!
Here I am living in Sweden and have been ordering sunscreens from Asia because I didn’t think there were any good sunscreens available in Sweden.. I’ve been seeing the Evy sunscreen mousse everywhere but never considered trying it. Will definitely try it now!

Ah I'm honestly kind of relieved your experience with the la roche posay shaka fluid was similar to mine..! I really had to wash it off because the alcohol made my skin sting so much and if you hadn't felt that I would have been more hesitant to trust your experience of the others for my skin. I had a similar problem with the etude house sunprise mild airy finish (though I can tolerate that a bit better with a good moisturizer), but I've been really enjoying the Klairs one :) Am going to give the purito centella one a try though, because I feel like sometimes my t-zone becomes a little bit oily/shiny with the Klairs. Also really fascinated by the Evy one, finally feel lucky to live in Europe for once haha ;) Thank you for all the recommendations!
Hi Renee, thank you for making this amazing video! I'll definitely try out your picks, it's such a useful list. I was just wondering, how much of each sunscreen do you use? And how do you judge how much mousse is sufficient? The Evy mousse sounds great, I'm just worried I wouldn't get promised protection because I didn't put enough on my face.

More of a focus that the US? That’s being extremely kind. We have one chemical that degrades quickly and one mineral that is thick and greasy at times. I have no qualms about purchasing sunscreens from elsewhere. Thanks for showing these for consideration!

I just got the Klairs sunscreen but haven't tried it yet as I need something sweatproof in the summer xD! There is sooo much hype around it.

I have tried many different sunscreens in the past, physical and chemical. My #1 favourite moisturising sunscreen of all times is Josie Maran SPF 47, always go back to it. I have combination skin, never had an issue with pilling, it being too oily, white cast etc. I believe my skin is so good because I have been consistent with it for many years, even during my pregnancy.
Wow the evy sunscreen is such an extraordinary discovery!!no controversial preservative no silicone except for the 50 soft version but it's a the very end of the inci list plumping ingredients. I wish I heard about it before my vacations in the hot and humid Caribbean
