There's some evidence showing SPF 60 to 100 doesn't exactly have an extraordinary amount of sun protection compared to SPF 50, but it still does show it can offer some level of extra SPF protection. So, for avid makeup wearers who really don't feel comfortable reapplying, much like you said, get a good layer of it on before applying makeup and it should still offer a considerable amount of UV protection as the day goes on

Hi I was thinking about buying that sunscreen. It would be a great help if you answer a few questions regarding this.
      1) Is it a mineral sunscreen
      2) Can it be applied over makeup
      3) I have acne prone skin, will it be safe for me to use
      tanks in advance

As an oily gal who’s currently using this sunscreen, this has become one of my faves instantly! I usually prefer milk sunscreens for a matte finish but the skin1004 one has been my go to when I don’t have a strenuous activity outside

@@sharlizmastura8797not a mineral sunscreen, i think its best to apply it before your makeup since it is a cream and might change any foundation if u put it on after, and i dont have acne prone skin but i have very sensitive skin and the hyalu cica is the only chemical sunscreen ive found that doesnt burn or give me a rash!

@@TinaTanakaHarrisI have dry to sometimes extremely dry skintype. You said in the video that an spf mist/spry is more dewy (which is true) and that it would be a better option for dry skintypes. I can assure you it's not a great option for dry skintypes. I have to skip on luminous setting sprays and more luminous (liquid highlighter mixed into my foundation) because the only time I will look greasy in my make up is when I reapply my spf with a spray. Not sure why they all have to be so darn dewy but to anyone out there who has dry to very dry skintype skip on the luminous base, don't use luminous setting sprays. I stay away from powders for the most parts because of how dry my skin is but I usually go for a natural or satin finish for my base and good hydrating face cream underneath my make up. And instead of powder just use a mattying setting spray all over the face or just a little bit on your hand then carefully dab it over your t-zone. Yes you will look a little matte at first glance but as the day goes by and you reapply your spf with the spf spray you will look glowy again. Just make sure to stay away from alcohol based mattyfing sprays. I use one that unfortunately has been discontinued from catrice their freeze& cooling spray. But they've replaced it with the oil control and mattyfing spray it does work great but the original was not only mattyfing but still hydrating because it contained an hint if oil in it. And if the day progresses and find that you look way to glowy you might have to use a tissue to slightly dab over the face and then use a more dry skin friendly powder.

First time i ever heard someone admit that the every 2 hour rule is probably hard to stick to, this video felt so realistic, thank you so much!
With sunsticks i always wonder if it actually gives the protection it claims with the amount people usually apply - isn't such a thin layer way too little? Idk much about sunsticks though, haven't ever used one bc I'm too afraid of getting germs stuck on it😭 they look great on the skin once people apply them though

I’m from a tropical country and my skin type is super super oily - I usually use the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence because it’s so lightweight (note that there is ethanol and fragrance like the spray in the video) and then before I put on makeup I layer with the Sana Namerakahonpo UV Makeup Base (helps to tone up my skin, gives slightly grippy base for foundation, AND has SPF 40)

Pacifica has a setting spray that’s 45 SPF and I use it every couple of hours, I’m in my 50’s and sunscreen is imperative for my aging skin. The setting spray works well over Dior, Chanel and Sisley foundation. My skin does start to look dewy but not greasy however blotting gently quickly corrects that for me.

    My sunscreen recommendations -
I’m in my mid 30s, have EDS, have normal skin with no breakouts (mostly barrier repair issues).
I’m usually between Fiji and Punjab in NARS foundation or 25 in most Korean foundations. These don’t leave white casts!
I live in Sacramento now so my favorites have changed (used to live in New England).
Haru Haru wonder yellow tube I’ve been through 2 already!! No white cast, natural finish, not drying.
Skin 1004 hyalucica- gave a bottle to my friend who has the most sensitive pale skin and she enjoys it as well. Also beauty of joseon is popular with the handful of people I know with EDS and autoimmune issues.
When it’s super hot out and I’m prone to sweat the Hadalabo light blue spf 50+ PA++++ is matte enough for the rare times Im on the verge of oily.
Honorable mentions are Mary and May cica soothing and 9 wishes pine, but would rather rebuy the skin 1004 and Haru Haru over again 😂
I had other more glowy richer sunscreens I swore by in winter (Frudia blue cap is top) but is way too glowy for my skin now.

Normal/combo skin (very normal, if I wash it, I generally have clear skin)
climate: US Midwest, so so winter dry, summer normal-ish
I really like the Haruharu Wonder yellow sunscreen for morning application. It has a very velvety texture and goes on great, so I'm interested in trying their sun stick. As for a tinted version, I am black (African American) , so with my melanated skin, I like using Kinlo's tinted sunscreens. They are physical sunscreens, but the tint matches my skin tone so no white cast. They also have a body lotion version SPF 35 that I also like.

I am 49yo and my skin is sensitive and dry. I live in Germany and Im using the EltaMD uv daily mineral sunscreen (not tinted). I am also using the haruharu black rice mineral and the SkinCeuticals mineral radiance sunscreen. Those three are my top ones as my skin loves zinc. ❤

I live in Brighton/UK which can be quite sunny and hot and humid summertime. My skin is combo, but I don’t wear makeup on the daily basis, and I have rosacea so I use sunscreen with green tint. My faves are SkinAqua and Kose Suncut. By the way I never go under SPF50 with sunscreens.

I am very much combo skin, some days leaning more oily or dry; and my holy grail has to be the skin1004 centella sun serum! Because it works on my oily and my dry days, unlike my boj tends to be a bit too moisturizing if I’m leaning more oily. I do live in California, but I have worn it in other places with super humid weather as well!

Honestly, as an ambivert person, sometimes I'm hesitant to reapply sunscreen in public😅.
I felt anxious about not reapplying despite being outside for more than 3 hours.
I do wear light make up every time I go to school or malls. That's why I make sure to put an ample amount of spf for my base.
It turns out that I've been realistic about that 2-3hours Reapplication Rule 😂!
Really grateful for all your contents, Tina!! They became my staple every time I wanted to delve into skincare!!🥰

I have acne prone combo skin in a pretty extreme climate, very hot, very cold, so I really recommend Kose suncut uv perfect essence. It's 120g for about $11 on stylevana and it's very lightweight and waterproof. It doesn't feel too thick when I reapply and it leaves a nice glowy feel, unlike the biore one which is very glossy

I like using "sunscreen" powders as my setting powder for those super dewy sunscreens or like how you did with the spray sunscreens! I don't use them on their own but I like to pretend using them to set my sunscreen helps somehow, like as if it's marginally better than a non spf powder lol

i have a oily skin but a little dehydrated & my holy grail sunscreen is Biore UV Anti-Pollution Body Care Serum which i just found out that its supposedly a body sunscreen rather than face sunscreen after multiple repurchases 🤣 unfortunately its only available in some SEA countries excluding my homecountry Indonesia (so the climate is just humid all year round) so my other favorite sunscreen is from Indonesian brand called Implora, its so good it has that light texture like those J & K sunscreens 😍

I have sensitive and acne prone combination skin that leans dry living in a very arid mountainous area. I liked the haru haru wonder sunscreen at first enough to use up two bottles and repurchase but on my third bottle during this super hot insufferable summer I’m finding it quite heavy and sticky on my skin. I have sensory issues and can really feel everything on my skin so I was really sad that it started feeling heavy to me. I also find that it pills a little bit under makeup if you rub your face. It won’t pull during application but it can after a long day if you rub at it! I think I’ll definitely repurchase again over autumn and winter but for spring and summer I’m going to have to look for something else.

I live in Europe /climate temperate transitional (we have 4 seasons) and I usually use La Roche Posay & Eucerine-the oil control fluids for my oily, acne-prone skin, especially now in the summer. I have veeeru oily skin + acne, so i like "NEOSTRATA Minesol Oil Control" or "NEUTROGENA Sun Fresh Derm Care" both at 70fps. I feel like Neutrogena is more light weigh to my face while Neostrata is dense enough to give me a blur effect and is a perfect match to my foundation.

I put in so much effort to have healthy and good looking skin, so wearing makeup is not my priority. I wear a light layer of powder foundation to tone down the shine, and it usually doesn’t interfere when I reapply sunscreen. And sunscreen isn’t the only sun protection option we have, wear a hat!

Skin type: oily but somewhat dehydrated
Climate: Germany, cold and dry in winter, hot and changing between dry and humid in summer
My holy grail sunscreen in generel for looking totally like nothing on the skin and flawless under makeup is skin aqua super moisturizing milk (blue bottle), but it is tricky to reapply since it takes about 20 minutes to dry which suuucks😭 bc overall, if you only wear light makeup (I just wear powder and concealer under my eyes) you can literally put this stuff on top of your makeup and once it dries it barely smudges it (i can only speak for wearing powder only, it's probably a little different with more layers of makeup) and it stays looking good even though I do sports outdoors a lot and sweat and stuff
Currently testing through other options though bc I aint got no time to always wait 20 minutes til my face doesn't look wet anymore 😢 missha soft finish is the only sunscreen i ever tried that actually leaves a mattifying finish on my oily af skin, but unfortunately it leaves a little cast that is just the wrong shade for my skin (I'm already very pale, so the cast isn't taht strong on me, but the color of it kinda doesn't match well with my skin at all so it looks pretty weird)

As someone who is combo, acne prone and sensitive skin, I tend to lean towards lightweight sunscreens with ingredients that help calm my acne. I use the numbuzin clear filter sun essence. It is very lightweight and it has heartleaf and cica (centella asiatica) to help calm my acne.

My holy grail is UNNY club (clear shaking sun lotion), its very similar to Anessa but for a fraction of the price. It also doesn’t dry my skin out throughout the day like Anessa does. But I don’t know how accessible UNNY club is to everyone else because I live in China and it’s a fairly popular brand here. Oh and I have dry skin.

Holy grail sunscreen: Dear Klairs: All-day Airy Sunscreen SPF 50+ ! The first chemical sunscreen I've ever used that didn't give me an allergic reaction! I have had it pill once when putting on makeup, but I think it was mixing badly with something else I put on my face at the time. And it is only 50g. I go through it quite fast. I am using a local sunscreen as base, Luxe Organix Aqua Daily Sunscreen ‘coz it’s sooo light weight, I also love the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun as my base then using the AHC sun stick for reapplication. Or, if I’m out and about, I use a very light tinted sunscreen for reapplication.
