This is why I always liked keeping a Ranger or two towards the back of my formations armed with nukes. As soon as my fighters get close enough for me to see the Basestars it's time to start sending the heavy ordinance. Plus whatever missiles my other ships are packing.
Battlestar Galactica Dreadlocks is probably the best spaceship strategy combat game Ive ever played. I used to love Battlefleet Gothic but this blows it out the water.
Good fight! And I hate it when that happens and you lose a barrage of missiles to your own flak, I've done it a couple of times as well. Always frustrating. But fortunately, it has never been a fatal mistake yet, it's just a lost chance to do a little more damage is all. It can be made up for later with good maneuver, which you clearly handled well. Very aggressive tactics, well played. I do think you would have suffered less losses with a more conservative staggered formation held at distance for longer before breaking into the middle of the Cylon fleet, but your way worked well too.
I once nuked myself during the final mission to the base game. Thought it would arc wide enough to miss. Nope! And of course, it would be the "Starbuck" that blasted herself and the Bucket...
People keep on saying that the basestars cannot handle battlestars, but you have to approach them from the top or the bottom depending on which one your fighting, since it's where their fire control is most of the time. Or, you can approach them from the top with raiders, this may be more effective, especially If you are using wardrivers
I remember watching the original BSG when the Pegasus took on 3 Basestars by herself back in the late 70s. What a great battle. Shame the show lost it's way with the horrific BSG 1980.Now if only Galactica had some of those solonite missiles that Kane managed to have a large supply of LOL.
@@starbuckr6970 I had to learn to check my fire with missiles. Who would have thought that they would account for friendly fire. Love the game. I should have bought it years ago.
God watching the colonials work was beautiful to watch. It was like a pack of sharks herding up their prey and putting the bite down one by one. The music was perfect and is the cherry on the icing
The Basestar's are all show, an Artemis or Minerva can solo two by themselves, for a Jupiter it's child's play, now a group of Basestar's is another story. If your not smart enough you'll be up to your eyeballs in boarded Centurions.
Would have been cool to see one of the old basestars in the re-imagined series of Battlestar Galactica. Saw it in Blood and Chrome but would have been great in the series.
OMG... I didn't expect McCreary when I selected this video 😁😁😁 but it would have been amazing hearing this, with the ingame battle sound effects (lowered a bit, like in the series).
@@starbuckr6970 you can turn off the in game music then overlay the music of your choice while keeping the game sound effects. Also you can turn off the fleet chatter.
Cant wait to play this. Bought it, but did not realize my laptop did not have a strong enough video card. . Have to get a new computer once life settles down. On a side geek dork note....anyone ever think, in all these scifi scenarios, how much dangerous debris is floating out there in space? I mean, it is dangerous here around Earth as it is, and we have barely reached this level of sophistication.
Awesome Vid but how the hell can ya use BSG OST while an own video i made for my SL 12 year old sim got flagged for using 10 secs bsg Music while my own sim is using the Fair Trade rule... anyway keep bsg alive thats what i do in Second Life with the 82nd fleet... So Say We All...
Prelude To War Music Composed by Bear McCreary beautiful piece
Really nice piece, thanks.
The entire soundtrack is epically beautiful.

God, the music switching to the drum beat the moment the argos was scratched, perfection

I just wish BSGO had stayed alive. Deadlock is the best spaceship strategy game and BSGO had all to be the best spaceship game
Jah man.

@@briankriens5645 They did. Adama used them in The Hand Of God which ended up being the last BSG before 1980.
1:38 XD you are destroying your own missiles XD
Mistakes were made!
Common mistake.
At least it's not a nuke.

Launching your rockets into ur own flack lol - i did that so many times XD

Ya the single basestar is nothing more then a Mobile missile and launch plotform. It needs a support group.
Yeah and with all those fraken toasters on board there's going to be poptarts for all 🏹🤠👍 .

You see one in Razor.
Something about Battlestars just makes them my favorite capital ships to watch in battle.
War is always a terribly expensive adventure.
Prelude to War. Good choice in music.
Original style Basestar looks so much better than the newer ones.
Gosh, seeing that Jupiter blow up was painful!
Would be even better with the in-game sounds!

Is this game available for use on a Windows PC computer?
Indeed, its available on all platforms, including nintendo switch (however no expansion packs on the last one)

One would imagine that such level of sophisticated technology could have a nuke proof hull, magnetic grappling and flight patterns for towing nets.
Word has it recycling is a big deal in space because of the fuel needed to get stuff into orbit with Elon's best rocket today.
What game is this, and what types of operating systems is it compatible with? This's flat-out cool!
Its Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock. It's on Steam.
And switch
@@HammerbiteStudios Ah, a hearty thank you for that clarification.
Not bad. Multiple basestars destroyed with but the loss of a single battlestar. Strong ratio.
Correct music choice

Ok
This game has so much potential, but the battles became so much massively boring and repetitive after you play around 8 to 9 battles...
Skirmish mode keeps me entertained
