  • In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

    One of the best and technological '90's sport car ever made.
    Active aero, 4 wheel steering, AWD and 3 cool gauges that not many other sport cars have.

    This was My pops first car he was 20 when he had me back in 95 and I grew up with a 3000gt for the first 6 years of my life, eventually he sold it and got a Toyota Highlander. To this day I still think about the good memories With that beauty of a car. Shame they discontinued them in 99/00?! Nevertheless excellent vehicle. My pops never had an issue with it

    Who ever wants a 3000gt base or sl model take this note. If you get one, you would have to change the timing belt every 60k miles (which is a pain to do yourself) spark plugs require the removal of the intake manifold (not to hard), this car requires premium fuel, using synthetic oil gets rid of the valve ticking(in most cases), parts are hard to find and expensive. just a few heads up. I had a 94 sl and I sold it a yr ago and im still watching these vids LOL. VERY VERY FUN CARS. I miss it

  • @DoritoPope003
    @DoritoPope003 11 років тому +1

    my auto made it 120k then it went, so I had every piece of it rebuilt, threw in a shift kit, and a cooler. It works great now, but it took alot of work.
    Mine is a 92 base, and it actually in my opinion is the model to get. the SLs are all so heavy and have tons of unnecessary extras that just weight it down. a typical SL is like 3200, where mine is closer to 3000.
    If you want to save money though, just get one with a 5 speed. They're more fun anyway.

    I dunno, I think it deserves a new coat of paint. That black just doesn't work on that car. It's a grand tourer and as such it needs a paint job that gives it more class and style. The paint job is saying 'don't look at me, I'm just a normal car!' You're in a 3000 GT, get a better paint job that gives it some panache.

    I have a 96, I was driving down the highway about 2 months ago and traffic just slammed on brakes at the snap of a finger and I was the last car in line I wasn't texting or distracted by anything, but when you are going 60 down the high way there isn't much you can do, anyway long story short I rear ended the car in front and I buckled my hood, trashed the front bumper, trashed the left front fender, busted the radiator, busted the left headlight, and worst of all bent the radiator mount inward. It's considered total, but I have a guesstimate that it's gonna cost 3 grand to fix her up, I'm waiting on February to roll around so I can get my baby fixed with my tax refund. I'm trying to decide if I want the radiator support bent back into shape or cut off and get another welded on, I don't know what is better though.

      These cars became very valuable in the last years. Especially the VR-4 examples.

    Despite what some people may say, yes, these cars are great. If you're looking for a VR-4, and won't take anything less, be sure to purchase a VR-4 that has had absolutely zero performance modifications done to it, and is in generally good condition, usually costing 6,900 or above. Anything less, and you're buying an abused car that was used for illegal street racing. They're great cars- people just demolished them when they came out.

    @hondafan71 Could you explain it a little more precisely? What seal you meant? The main engine seals, such as the crankshaft or camshaft-seal or something other?

    Well, the 3000GT/3000GT SL models aren't really "detuned." They are made differently than the VR-4 model. They are more like the fuel economic versions of the car, while the VR-4 is the performance version of the car.

    Interesting vehicle, which not only aged well, but in spite of being 17 years old, it's still appealing to look at. All is not well though: The bluish smoke indicates possible worn piston-rings, and/or scratched cylinder walls, which would be quite premature for an engine with only 140 something thousand miles in it, if these sporty coupes weren't customarily driven hard.

    how reliable are these cars? im looking for a vehicle right now and i have one of these in mind, but im afraid of the reliablility. i know how to take care of a car very well, but im concerned. the one i am looking at has a freshly rebuilt motor and trans and is clean, but i am skeptical

      Never trust rebuilt motors. Rebuilt means the driver abused the fuck out of it, or was tuning it. Both never good. But I just bought the car myself, piece of shit, but made it nice. Reliable as any other car. But very and I mean VERY hard to find parts. Ball joints had to be imported from china.
