- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
"Shift boot's a little bit worn."
You sound like you're on Craig's list.
theshonen8899 A little is an understatement.
theshonen8899 😂😂😂
Lol
Mad facts
Brings back memories of the new one I bought in 94. At the time I loved the design and the new inglass headlights that came out that year.
One of the best and technological '90's sport car ever made.
Active aero, 4 wheel steering, AWD and 3 cool gauges that not many other sport cars have.
Yep that would be the VR-4.. this is the base model.. no ECS or Climate control System.
That spider man stance tho 1:56
SUAVECITO_O LOLOLOLOLOLOL im making a shirt with that freeze frame
+SUAVECITO_O Im dead rofl
+SUAVECITO_O haha im done LOL
SUAVECITO_O hahaha yup!!
Thats awesome... I bought one with 135,000, full navigation and sound system and it runs like it's brand new. Funnest car I have ever owned (and I've owned quite a few)
I remember watching this years ago and lusting after one of them. Now, I've had the pleasure of owning two 2nd gens. Just bases though. First one an automatic, second one manual. I'm working my way up to a VR4. One day.
I bought the VR-4 when I was 15, they are absolute heaven to drive.
One of the rare japanese cars that I like.
But in poland you can afford it for 8k dollars xd
This car was my teenage dream car. Great job on the review as always, Kyle :) :)
This was My pops first car he was 20 when he had me back in 95 and I grew up with a 3000gt for the first 6 years of my life, eventually he sold it and got a Toyota Highlander. To this day I still think about the good memories With that beauty of a car. Shame they discontinued them in 99/00?! Nevertheless excellent vehicle. My pops never had an issue with it
I had a 98 3000gt SL fully loaded and I got more compliments on that car than I do on my 01 trans am ws6. Definitly wasn't as fast but I still miss it, very unique car for sure.
im a classic car guy, but i like these cars...i really like the gauges in the dash, gives it a more sporty look
I love it lots! Great review Kyle!
I like how much cargo room is available with the rear seats down, and the interior just looks comfortable. Great car indeed
Oh yeah, the non turbo is a sweet little ride. Still gotta look out for ones that were modded, have really high mileage, or look in bad shape... but generally you'll have much more luck with the na's. Good car.
I'm 17 yrs old and i got myself a ford focus 2006 1.8 sedan. so happy with it. :)
I only have the base model for a 1995 3000, but I still love my car considering the condition it is in, I gotta fix a lot of crap the previous owner just ignored...
Mitsubishi is wayyyy ahead of their time! This car looks sooo much newer, good job!
Went headon on with a semitruck yesterday in my 1998 3000gt both of us goong about 25/30mph, cars is deff smashed, but i walked away, car is deff built to take a hit and keep you safe♡
beast of a car for the time period
I bought this model year 3 months ago with 30,000 miles on it --- black leather seats. painfully clean, inside and out. Freakin pinch me!!!
I love 3000GTs, who cares if they're all at least 10 years old now, I'd spend a lot of money to keep one running for many years.
Oh, that signature continuous beep of the 3000gt when the car isn't started :D
Nice cars for sure. I used to have one myself but the parts for this thing are CRAZY EXPENSIVE.
I like how the radio folds back into the center unit when you take the drive key out the ignition.
Who ever wants a 3000gt base or sl model take this note. If you get one, you would have to change the timing belt every 60k miles (which is a pain to do yourself) spark plugs require the removal of the intake manifold (not to hard), this car requires premium fuel, using synthetic oil gets rid of the valve ticking(in most cases), parts are hard to find and expensive. just a few heads up. I had a 94 sl and I sold it a yr ago and im still watching these vids LOL. VERY VERY FUN CARS. I miss it
One thing it's missing.
*POP-UP FUCCKGKGING HEADLIIIGHTS*
Well if you want pop up head lights get the 1991 3000GT/stealth
pretty honest for a car salesman, and for that you get your well-deserved thumbs up =)
hey dude ! tomorow i have exams abut i cant stop watching your vids!
Forget what I said because I got a '01 Accord EX-L Coupe for my birthday on saturday. Love it!
I don't care if its the base, sl or vr4 model. I love them all and I'm planning on getting one for my next car. Something about the style of these cars just aged really well.
Black exterior with black interior? Wow, bet that gets HOT in the summer! Beautiful car, though, wouldn't mind driving one or even owning one. I might get in trouble with the twin turbo though :P Awesome vid, Kyle, I really enjoy all of your automobile reviews! :)
For anyone interested I'm a big fan of this platform and did something similar to this with my Dodge Stealth. I used to have it as a video response but now you have to link your videos so here it is. I tried to make it more like Kyle's newer, longer style of videos and I tried to make it as much like his as possible so if you like his style you'll like the video of mine (not that I'll make future videos that way.) Please check it out and I'm very thankful for Kyle allowing it as a video response before as that made it my most viewed video. The Complete Dodge Stealth In-Depth Tour
good video bro...much appreciation for the care you done to this babe.
This very good tour thanks alot man! lol I'm going to go look at a 1995 3000GT that I'm interested in and this video was helpful in know more about the car knowing what to expect when I go see it :P
I had a 1995 3000GT. The headlights and foglights aren't projector. Halogen bulbs behind glass spheres to give the illusion they they are the more expensive HID projector type.
Loved the car. Strong V6. Being a front-driver was a real bummer tho. Great video!
When I was little, I always thought the 3000GT was a rebadged Esclipse. My parents told me it wasn't.
Emery Clark's Cars & Animatronics Channel Dodge Stealth actually a rebadged 3000GT
@@alpzepta whoa frr!
Great car! Some of the best looks ever and definitely the best bang for your buck for in the less-than-$10k-used category. I had one for 3 years. LOVED IT. Only got rid of it to trade up to a C5 Corvette.
Now a 2nd gen automatic is going for 20k and sold at my car collectors dealer crazy part about it that’s it’s a automatic. I’m glad I’ve kept my 92 first gen 5 speed in the garage 😅
my auto made it 120k then it went, so I had every piece of it rebuilt, threw in a shift kit, and a cooler. It works great now, but it took alot of work.
Mine is a 92 base, and it actually in my opinion is the model to get. the SLs are all so heavy and have tons of unnecessary extras that just weight it down. a typical SL is like 3200, where mine is closer to 3000.
If you want to save money though, just get one with a 5 speed. They're more fun anyway.
A 3000GT has so much potential, but this one has seen better days.
this is an very rare car, it has 300HP twin turbo, and usually AWD it is one of the most fastest Japanese supercars.
A lot of goodies in this place! Thank you for uploading!
i love this car its my dream car so i realy hope i can get it one day
I dunno, I think it deserves a new coat of paint. That black just doesn't work on that car. It's a grand tourer and as such it needs a paint job that gives it more class and style. The paint job is saying 'don't look at me, I'm just a normal car!' You're in a 3000 GT, get a better paint job that gives it some panache.
agree black 3000gt sucks n even the good painted black ones look too much form a distance like a trans am or camaro no disrespect to those classicks cars but as U said this is a 3kgt should stand out!
Makron5 it looks better on my 1st Gen
I got one recently and found out it was originally the r25 Morocco red pearl, such a good looking color and someone rattle canned it red. Definitely going back to the original paint as soon as I get it on the road
Definitely paint it red or jamacian blue or even the panama green pearl
A very nice review of one of my all time favorite cars!
Oh god I want this as my first car!
Lol i got one as my first
Coco’s Retard Fest is it good as a first car?
@@Sweenie.Weenie
Seconding, is it a good first?
get ready to spend a good amount on gas
young tiller yeah but gas is cheap so it aint that bad of a problem, and yes it is a good car
my friend just got a twin turbo 3000gt, pretty nice car i was surprised
Thanks Kyle.
My Dad had one of these before getting his corvette. He had the VR-4 twin Turbo and I absolutly loved this car but like everyone has said in your comments he had the same problem with it burning oil. I was sad when he sold it.
I really enjoyed this video best in dept video ever I just got one question is this car ok for tall people because im 6,2 going on 6,3 and i just want to know
Fuck me I want this car
*****
....
i have one but newer
Ryan C base Civic si would smoke this car in every category.
@ernestolopez23 that's because Mitsubishi is a large conglomerate over in Japan, the automotive division is just a part what Mitsubishi does. Hyundai is the same way over in S. Korea.
amazing car gotta love em..the vr-4 was nuts back in the 90's
For everyone that owns a dohc n/a 3000gt and doesnt know already. The underdrive pulley from 3sx is good but it will make your lights dim down a bit at idle and your AC will take alittle bit longer to cool. But it does add about 5 hp to the wheel give or take. just my .02 cents
thank you for this review
Can't wait to get mine
@FrenchValleyAirport The recycle button just keeps the same fresh air that you took from outside instead of just constantly taking new fresh air. The second thing you said about it also acting like a max a/c button is also true. On my 2005 Toyota Highlander, this same feature is also there.
I saw one of these just the other day. Not a car you see everyday anymore.
I think "very interesting looking car" is a bit understatement, just say its a very good looking car.
Looks like it used almost a quart of oil by the smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe
i love that radio, is that stock or aftermarket?
3000gts are beyond amazing
oh man i drove one of these last week really great car...
Reliability depends on if you will be dedicated to it. If you just buy it and drive it as an everyday vehicle without near weekly maintenance, it will treat you like hell, but if it was driven occasionally and maintained it will last. Owner of a Dodge Stealth
"A little bit worn"
ive actually got a pearl white with metal flake 1994 3000 gt and god its a fun car to drive.
They really are and im loving the fact that dispite the cars being relatively rare from what ive seen theres such a great community of people that love them. Im also very proud to say that with much pride, mines in amazing condition.
Why dont people make cars like this anymore
@FrenchValleyAirport I think it just keeps using the same air that comes through the compressor. In terms of benefits, you only see a tiny increase in gas mileage.
the 1990-2001 Mitsubishi 3000GT was assembled in
Nagoya, Aichi, Japan
thank you for this review this car is one of my all time favorite specially the hard top convertible.
One of my dream car...
Mine too
What kind of radio is that? thats awesome that it flips like that.
love these cars!!!!
My friend has a 3000gt VR-4 same color as this one.The fastest car I ever driven besides a Challenger R/T.
ground control springs and 18s with stock tire size. stock is 18s so no speedo error. fender clearance is easy to fix
is that the stock exhuast? it sounds pretty good!
Would love to have this car over any modern day car.
A recently classic JDM marvel :)
3000GT it have 2 model headlight ? I see in 1999 it got same headlight in your video ?
They are inevitably a small amount more than a average car, I would recommend splitting the insurance with your parents. Since you are a novice driver they don't look at you as being safe enough to drive a Twin turbo supercar. :D It is very easy to learn and bop around and is a dream on the freeway.
I have a 96, I was driving down the highway about 2 months ago and traffic just slammed on brakes at the snap of a finger and I was the last car in line I wasn't texting or distracted by anything, but when you are going 60 down the high way there isn't much you can do, anyway long story short I rear ended the car in front and I buckled my hood, trashed the front bumper, trashed the left front fender, busted the radiator, busted the left headlight, and worst of all bent the radiator mount inward. It's considered total, but I have a guesstimate that it's gonna cost 3 grand to fix her up, I'm waiting on February to roll around so I can get my baby fixed with my tax refund. I'm trying to decide if I want the radiator support bent back into shape or cut off and get another welded on, I don't know what is better though.
If U have the sources for good material n good a welder man say cut if off and weld a new frame on. Man U outta document this cars life form it current state to where U want to get it to. WAs this auto or manual? How bad was teh car U hit?
It's an auto, It was a honda accord and hit had no damage just a black smudge on it, I know a pretty good mechanic he should be more than capable of fixing it, whatever he thinks is best I'll go with it, I have a bunch of pictures of it.
Ratfink820 BTW since Ur fixing it up an spending all this money an might as well replace the stock EXHAUST n put in a single exhaust trust me it be beast!
I might do that I've heard them with a single, I've also heard one with a cherry bomb.
Ratfink820 Just make sure that it can pass in inspection belief varies from state to state. Either way single exhaust is louder,. faster, and overall betta. BUT make sure it can pass an inspection in your state. GOOD LUCK!
would this be good as a first car? do they last a long time with little issue?
Ohhh jeez, i wish Mitsubishi kept making these
i was thinking of one for my first too. it seems like they would be good
Did you end up getting a Mitsubishi as your first car?
Classic from Gran Turismo :D
These are so cool!
one of my favorite cars
awesome car i love those :) thanks man
i love this car you can do so much stuff in it
im not a fan of ricers at all, but i wouldnt mind one of these
Great Video!
yep has the 3k gt valve seal problem. mine did. and almsot all the ones ive seen have this prob. specially when running for a while and you hit the throttle
i can't say that i'm totally unbiased b/c i'm getting a 3000GT this week....but i chose it over a 300ZX b/c i need an all-weather car for work during the winter and the GT is front wheel (or all wheel) drive while the ZX is rear wheel. both are great looking cars that were ahead of their time though.
Beautiful car!!
The fact that it's almost on E. really messes with my OCD. My gas tank is never that empty
I kind of want this car pretty bad. wtf
ikr im lucky
kinda funny i feel the same way, id take it over a modern day car anytime.
Right me too
I bought one that sat under a tree for 6 years for $300 and that thing started no problem
These cars became very valuable in the last years. Especially the VR-4 examples.
I have no idea why people love this car so much. Its not as reliable as you think and its a heavy car. The only
hey kyle wheres the video of that roadmaster?????
Despite what some people may say, yes, these cars are great. If you're looking for a VR-4, and won't take anything less, be sure to purchase a VR-4 that has had absolutely zero performance modifications done to it, and is in generally good condition, usually costing 6,900 or above. Anything less, and you're buying an abused car that was used for illegal street racing. They're great cars- people just demolished them when they came out.
Trying to decide wether to get the 3000gt or a 300zx any non biased suggestions?
@hondafan71 Could you explain it a little more precisely? What seal you meant? The main engine seals, such as the crankshaft or camshaft-seal or something other?
Well, the 3000GT/3000GT SL models aren't really "detuned." They are made differently than the VR-4 model. They are more like the fuel economic versions of the car, while the VR-4 is the performance version of the car.
Interesting vehicle, which not only aged well, but in spite of being 17 years old, it's still appealing to look at. All is not well though: The bluish smoke indicates possible worn piston-rings, and/or scratched cylinder walls, which would be quite premature for an engine with only 140 something thousand miles in it, if these sporty coupes weren't customarily driven hard.
how reliable are these cars? im looking for a vehicle right now and i have one of these in mind, but im afraid of the reliablility. i know how to take care of a car very well, but im concerned. the one i am looking at has a freshly rebuilt motor and trans and is clean, but i am skeptical
Never trust rebuilt motors. Rebuilt means the driver abused the fuck out of it, or was tuning it. Both never good. But I just bought the car myself, piece of shit, but made it nice. Reliable as any other car. But very and I mean VERY hard to find parts. Ball joints had to be imported from china.
+dragonslayer1483 Supra would be more reliable I've heard... :)
TassieLorenzo i would die if i could get a supra (even the boxy one), but for now ive just got a lame ass civic -_-
