You answered your own question.........😁 As a photog I do the same - do what you do and then let it go......the ones who obsess about their work tend to be insecure about it and it shows in the attitude. His attitude is not over self important, it just is..........and it doesn't hurt to have dry humor either.... LOL
When this drone came out, the first place I looked was your channel. Realizing you don’t do much with fpv, I cried a lot and then moved on. So glad to see you did get to test this out and give us all the juicy details and showing us how it works! I just got it in the mail and really loving this drone. I’ve already re watched it 3 times because I’m learning something new each time! Thanks
Oh man thanks hahaha I didunt post on day 1 because I hadn’t filmed some parts yet, and I was trying to hurry but I was thinking why am I rushing nobody is going to care lolol. Thanks for coming to check I’ll stick to day 1 posts from now on
Short, to the point. Straight forward, high quality 4K footage that did not go wrong on export, beginners POV, testing what would happen if you fly it in to yourself. Only 15 minutes long. Contrats, I have seen 15 reviews of the avata 2, and this one is the best so far. at least for the normies. Thanks for the no fluff! Appreciate it.
This is the most fun I ever had flying a drone with this new Avata 2!! I’ve had it for almost 2 weeks now and I’ve only been using the motion controller three and I have been getting the hang of it like I never thought I could fly a drone. Flying through gaps zipping through trees like figure 8 and flying around treetops and zipping down Hiking path. Just this past weekend I followed two ATV racers flying around 100 acres of property and oh my Lord that was the best experience I’ve ever had with videography or even photography. That was an experience. I even crashed, but I didn’t use turtle mode because I wanted to check on thedrone to make sure it wasn’t anything wrong. But all I did was knock off my ND filter and that put it back on and within two minutes back up in here chasing ATV riders. Hands-down, this thing is nothing but the funniest drone you’ll ever fly if you’re a beginner.
I just got this drone the other day. Never flown FPV ever and its great and it really is a great choice. To double down my wife cannot play xbox she is the person who just cant figure out a first person shooter style game, shes aiming straight up at the sky sort of thing. My daughter has never flown a drone before and they both were able to pick this up and with only mild coaching fly it around. it is really fun. (video on my channel soon!)
I have watched several reviews of the Avata 2 because I am trying to figure out if I should buy this as my first drone. This was by far the most informative and also a pleasure to watch. Thank you for making this video!
Awesome video bro! I’ve had my avata 2 for a month now, I had a mini 4 pro for 6 months, the mini 4 was a great experience, I sold it and purchased the avata 2, I’ve been taking my time with it and love the experience
I just got mine yesterday and I've only owned the DJI Mini 3 Pro and this is like night and day compared to it. I am flipping in love with the Avata 2 and it was so much fun within the second battery I was ripping around the Treetops on my property and flying around the house it felt like I was actually flying. I never knew at the age of 50 I was going to enjoy something so much. And I really like the motion controller because it really makes it easy to fly and still do some what fpv moves. I could care less about the backflips or front flips. But the 180 drifts will come in handy. Yeah I am looking forward to flying again tomorrow. Great honest review love your content 11:52
Great review, love your humor and your videos. One correction...head tracking isn't how they got the epic footage diving waterfalls, etc in the promo videos. They where shooting with the fpv controller in full manual/full acro mode (actually nose diving, not just looking down and decreasing in altitude). This mode flies like a traditional fpv drone and requires some practice (typically 10 to 20 hrs in simulator to have some basic control over the drone). The other modes and shooting with the motion controller are great for some shots but many shots are impossible to capture apart from learning full manual mode. Just like with traditional fpv drones there still is a fairly steep learning curve to fly full manual/acro.
Oh no wonder because I could have sworn some of those were directly vertical, but I wondered if they were just edited in Gyroflow different, I would love to try that out and see what the learning curve is like. Those kind of shots are what I want the most
@12:14 you dont have to wipe the eye lenses, DJI has a built in feature under Advanced Safety settings where you can let the goggles clear the lenses by activating the airflow :)
I appreciate your review on the Avata2 coming from a camera drone world. I've always flown Mavics and I have some of the same concerns, but I always thought FPV drones were cool. The Avata 2 lets you fly immediately while you're learning more advanced modes.
I had been so excited when I grabbed the first Avata. I flew for hours & hours with the RC controller in manual until I was super confident with it. But then, I never quite found work for it in where I could use the FPV drone for. I hadn't realized it's been so long trying to find an excuse to use it, until this Avata 2 dropped. The new drone looks super exciting, but financially I don't think I can justify it for myself if I already couldn't find work specifically for my first one 😢
Also, I’m excited that I will be able to fly in ways you just can’t with line of site, and only what you can see on your controller screen! To be able to fly inside of a building and actually see where you’re going? OMG, Cannot wait! Never used goggles before…thanks
I’m si glad you posted this video. I wanted to get into fpv drones, but if you’ve been doing this for a few weeks and these are the shots you’re getting I think it’ll be something I try later down the line. Seems like you have to put a few months of work into getting good shots from an fpv drone
You’re so funny! Got Dad Jokes too! About 2 months ago I got the A2, things are so great! Along with my Mini 3, 4 Pro, this is a really cool addition! Thanks for the review, you described me right away! Flew in the garage first few flights (was paranoid with new control stuff!). I hand launch/land 99% of the time, (don’t like the twist capture thing like many do!) The observer is so overrated, but it’s the USA so that’s the rules. Loving it! Blessings!🇺🇸
in case of crashing, it's always good to check if "Turtle mode" will get it back on its feet. Avata 2 is a fantastic entry point for cinematic FPV. It's not even close to the agility of a "proper fpv" drones, but it's good enough for people to do some crazy shots - just don't do crazy acro, or you will crash. Also Avata 2 though a lot more resilient than MAvic, is a bit brittle + underpowered, so crashing is not recommended ;) 24fps would introduce a lot o delay, not really a good option for FPV. 30 FPS is fine for what it is.
My husband and I have been looking at these as our first drones. We're not videographers. We're not doing anything professional or even for social media. We want something we can strap onto our heads and go explore the world around us from a vantage point we don't have where we're standing at that moment. Watching your videos had me in tears. You're hysterical. Also, your footage looks extremely familiar to where we live. Are you by chance in Phoenix, or Scottsdale, AZ? Thx for the video. I'll check out your out your others! Cheers! Edit: I just looked, you are in Scottsdale! :)
Hi, I’ve been doing drone flying since 2013. Phantom Vision what a drone!! I’m still no expert or skilled pilot - family and work often get in the way of practice. However, I’ve always wanted technology to be the best user experience for the ‘average’ person - I think the Avata 2 fits that principle and you demonstrate that really well. How to get good, sorry great footage (sorry real FPV pilots) that brings a FPV feel to the video without the mahoosive amount of hours practicing. I take my hat off to skilled FPV pilots - your footage is sick! For now this video captures my sentiments - the Avata 2 does bring a sense of FPV skill to the regular parson. Good job on the video - get to the gym though; at 32 you should be up that hill in a jiffy🙂
I think the most fair way to look at this drone, is a hybrid of an FPV drone and a mavic style drone. Even though I plan to use manual mode w/ FPV3 I have no doubt theres plenty of fun to be had with the RCM3. You lose intelligent flight and obstacle avoidance, but you still have RTH, much more speed, and a single crash isn't usually Game Over. DJI return to home is much safer and more reliable than BetaFlight GPS rescue on full blown FPV'S.
"Probably could have done this when I was 30, but now that I'm 32..." Hearing this comment when I was 29 would have been funny for a non relatable reason. Hearing it now as I'm 34 is funny because it's completely relatable and fully understands the difficulty presented
The 180 drift reminds me of Autel Evo Lite "Flick" - I sold that drone inspite of long flights and a terrific Aircraft - b/c the controller was crap, and they refused to offer anything better or with a display.
Great video! I like your style. did you ever fly the first Avata? I bought that one a couple months after it came out and have hundreds of hours on the thing, crashed it multiple times and it's still flies like a champ. Originally I just had the Air2 S which is great for photos but the video felt too stationary, the Avata fit my needs perfect. I fly along the beach at Lake Michigan and it really achieves some dynamic footage, it's so easy to use with the joystick. I've let many of my friends try it and a couple of them have bought one because they had so much fun and the videos they've been taking are pretty incredible and they don't even know what they're doing when it comes to filming. bottom line is not only does this thing get great footage, it's a blast to fly, just don't buy one for photos as they're not that great. I'm definitely buying this new one, can't believe they made it cheaper than what the first one was!
Great video as always! Do I understand you correctly that you should shoot this in 60 fps because its moving so fast? Would it be a mistake to shoot in 25? (Im from Sweden)
The exciting footage and dives down waterfalls is generally not done with that joystick controller. I would love to see you get the DJI FPV Remote Controller 3 and try flying FPV in manual mode. Could be some good content and lots of crashing 😂
Posted on another comment ^ but Oh no wonder because I could have sworn some of those were directly vertical, but I wondered if they were just edited in Gyroflow different, I would love to try that out and see what the learning curve is like. Those kind of shots are what I want the most
@@QuickAssTutorials it’s quite the rush flying in full manual. Your Avata 2 video is the only one I watched just because the way you review things is hilarious and you leave out all the bullshit. You will get very angry with the learning curve of FPV but I think that might make a video even better!
Thanks for the straightforward review! So do you think the diving down waterfalls or climbing up waterfalls Type effect is feasible with the motion controller when you’re using head tracking or do you need to go into full manual mode which scares me as a new comer to FPV !
great video for a noobie like me. was always so scared to crash my mavic that I struggled to become a better pilot. Now just need a charging hub that can simultaneously charge all 3 batteries, goggles, and controller together. That's my main complaint so far. the charging time is ridiculous
Wow, great post! Was curious (plead the 5th) My FlyMore Combo should be delivered in just over a week, will be my first time too! Looking to use it with my Mini 4 Pro perhaps first? Unsure! Not gonna fly around rocks like where you flew! Indoors first, backyard, glad to see you be honest with your initial mistakes made! Wow! I am totally concerned about having an observer so I can fly FPV legal…Concerned… Thanks for the post!
Dji won’t offer 24fps. Flying an fpv in 24fps, everything would look like “blurry” and would be really hard to avoid hitting stuff. All fpv drones (at least the camera which you see to fly) have 60fps and above. So you can see your surroundings 😅😅. You can always add some motion blur in post. I love this review from a videographer’s perspective who has never flew fpv before.
This drone has a payload of 400gs that you can add to it meaning you can throw an action camera on top of it and fly. Just don't do any flips or anything like that but you can put a GoPro on top of this.
Hey Alex, if you were to select a drone for professional photography purposes only which would you choose? Video seems to be the priority of drone makers these days which makes it hard to find a solid photo-centric option. Thanks in advance
When you crashed on top of that boulder hill did you try Turtle mode and try to recover your drone that way? Turtle mode will flip the drone over if it crash lands upside down and then take off and RTH.
Quick question: As a beginner who has been following content like this channel for 1-2 years and has completed the small EU drone license, which all-rounder drone would make more sense to start with: Air 3 or Avatar 2? (I personally prefer the look of FPV drone footage but want to be as versatile as possible for the beginning)
I was going to elaborate on why I think this is the best video for starting out with the Avata2 (and I was nervous AF on day one) I was laughing so hard at your commentary... I just said to my self..."Self stop being a chickenshit and go enjoy your drone you pathetic prat!" So I did. Best intro Avata 2 video out there.
Very confused about easy acro and recording. When I tried going into easy acro mode, it told me it couldn’t because it was recording (as you’ve said). But I’m pretty sure I’ve seen some videos of recordings where people are doing acro mode maneuvers. I guess I could understand if they disable recording for doing flips and rolls, but the 180 degree drift seems like it was made for videography vs. just a “fun to do” gimmick. It doesn’t make sense that they’d disable recording for a feature that makes it easy for a beginner to record a cool shot that would otherwise require full manual mode skills. Am I missing something?
This has nothing to do with the dji avata but do you think that the smart remote for the magic 3 and mini 3 pro are bright enough so you can actually see on a sunny day?
Love the way you talk. Who knew dry humor could be this informative.
How is it that this guys entire youtube style is trying to give as little of a shit as possible yet I get the most excited when he uploads

“How dare you speak to me” - classic.
Best line on YT
This is the Avata 2 review I was waiting for. Great job Alex! Wish you'd find the time to post here more often, but I'll take what I can get.

“You like risky stuff but you don’t like consequences” poetry. 😂 and you nailed it
Congratulations dads and uncles. You're now allowed to try it. Laughed hard at that line and then hit the like button! :)
Your wit and quips make this so much more entertaining. Who knew I’d be laughing every 20s in a drive review? Love the style.

"First of all, how dare you speak to me directly" made me legit lol
I subscribed as soon as he said that lmao
We flew the OG Avata in a tactical training environment indoors. This drone takes a beating!!! I was extremely impressed with its durability.
He's back!! We will get you into FPV drones soon. Great video. Always like your real-world advice for DJI drones. They capture incredible images.
I love the attitude no bullshit tell it like it is right on !
A+ video my guy! informative and the comedy makes it that much better!
Great work. It' s like you were taking what I was thinking and put it into an avatar, you , speaking about he Avata 2! Ha Poet!
Awesome video bro! I’ve had my avata 2 for a month now, I had a mini 4 pro for 6 months, the mini 4 was a great experience, I sold it and purchased the avata 2, I’ve been taking my time with it and love the experience
Another home run Alex. Great review!
Beat Channel on UA-cam. 🙌🙌🙌. Thank you for making this! Just bought an avata 2 cuz of u!
Good thing to note! Recording while in acro mode is now patched & functioning! :) (tnx for putting metric speed in btw) // Happy European
great detail info on avata 2 mine comin today thanks
best part.... "Fox! Do a barrel roll!"
Caught that also!!
00:44 NOT THE CRIPPLED PUPPY NOOooOoOoOo!!!😩😭. That set of analogies was hilarious 🤣
"First of all, how dare you speak to me" HAHAHAHA. Your Dry humor is next level bro. Looking forward to your video on Air 3S.

Been waiting for your review on this one, oh great big sarcastic man!
Great video, Drone God!!! yeah, I bought the first version but a year and a half ago, and I love it.
Right to the point, all killer, no filler.
Great review, love your humor and your videos. One correction...head tracking isn't how they got the epic footage diving waterfalls, etc in the promo videos. The videos are so enjoyable. No chance I'll ever need a drone, yet QAT is a highlight among my 130+ channel subs.
top speed of the avata 2 is 60mph, ive already seen videos of this drone hitting 65mph, i should point out this is in manual mode
6:23 i fuckin LUV these dryly delivered jokes 🤣
I’m si glad you posted this video. I wanted to get into fpv drones, but if you’ve been doing this for a few weeks and these are the shots you’re getting I think it’ll be something I try later down the line. Seems like you have to put a few months of work into getting good shots from an fpv drone

24fps would introduce a lot o delay, not really a good option for FPV. 30 FPS is fine for what it is.
Think that’s the best review I’ve seen on this drone
My husband and I have been looking at these as our first drones. We're not videographers. We're not doing anything professional or even for social media. Always a good month when daddy Alex posts
This is how I want to see reviews from now on!
About bloody time you got some more material up! UA-cam was starting to become rather boring.
Love how you rescued it haha!
I think the most fair way to look at this drone, is a hybrid of an FPV drone and a mavic style drone. Even though I plan to use manual mode w/ FPV3 I have no doubt theres plenty of fun to be had with the RCM3.

love the random images throughout the video mixed with the monotone voice and dry humour, funny as fuck man
Great video, you explained the new experience excellent.
I subscribed cuz I really like his direct approach and it’s for this reason I’m gonna Purchase
lol by far the best review of the Avata 2 !
congrats. liked. Have a happy time.
Thanks! This was really helpful and informative.
Nice Alex. I've got the same fears coming from flying Mavics.
The 180 drift reminds me of Autel Evo Lite "Flick" - I sold that drone inspite of long flights and a terrific Aircraft - b/c the controller was crap, and they refused to offer anything better or with a display.
"If you crash the drone, you'll die in real life." Still laughing at that one 😂😂😂 Great video! Thank you!
Alex you are the anti-UA-camr . . . . And I love you for it. Nicely done as always. Appreciate your work.
you can record the flips, but you have to stop the recording when you turn acro on. you just have to restart recording after switching into acro
Your style of comedy is hilarious

One of the better review videos of the Avata 2. Good job and thank you. After 4 months is it still worth it?
Great video as always! Do I understand you correctly that you should shoot this in 60 fps because its moving so fast? Would it be a mistake to shoot in 25? (Im from Sweden)
The exciting footage and dives down waterfalls is generally not done with that joystick controller.
I would love to see you get the DJI FPV Remote Controller 3 and try flying FPV in manual mode.
Could be some good content and lots of crashing 😂

No crippled puppies were hurt in the making of this video.
Great video
Oh yeah, just wish you could voice record with the goggles like you can with the Mini 3 or 4 (Screen capture). Tried several ways, no luck. Thanks.

Great job!!
I have zero interest in this drone but I love your delivery and watched the whole video
I just can’t wait for my birthday!
Picked it up two days ago. Great bit of kit. A Mavic expert, I too crashed and burned... 😂
When you crashed on top of that boulder hill did you try Turtle mode and try to recover your drone that way? Turtle mode will flip the drone over if it crash lands upside down and then take off and RTH.
NVM, I see that later in the video you actually address Turtle mode so you obviously know about it. My bad lol.
360 photosphere mode available?
No
love it
Hahhahaha, watching on...glad you are still alive!
I love mine!
What if i'm tiny little man inside of that thing who doesn't want to go to work?
Only thing missing is your usual suggestion of which combo to get!
This has nothing to do with the dji avata but do you think that the smart remote for the magic 3 and mini 3 pro are bright enough so you can actually see on a sunny day?
Damn good video
