I just started boxing today and i used their gloves for my first class and OMG THE STENCH!!!!!! I don't know how I survived. Anyway here I am to learn how to take care of my own gloves haha
Same! Omg it was horrible I had to clean my hands like 8 times and it was still there 😭 right after the class, I ordered myself a pair of gloves bc I ain't EVER touching the gym's again 😂
Thank you for the info. My 8 yr old son just started boxing and i had no idea the best way to keep his stuff clean and deodorized, especially since he sweats a lot. It is hard enough keeping up with his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gi and rashguard and mouthguard plus his soccer equipment. I never did any of these sports so as a mom it always takes me a while to find a good system for his equipment, although i hqve given up on his goalie gloves at this point.🤢 He just started boxing and really loves it so i am investing in the glove dogs. Thanks.
I first let them soak in a salt bath, realy get that salt water in there and out there a few times. then try to push a lot of water out. Then let them soak and wash them a bit with liquid washing detergend push to most water out, Dry them with a towel first. Then dry them with paper towels < not toilet paper that breaks up leave some paper towels in there overnight after that let them air dry. After that put some old socks with the plastic looking cat litter in them and some scent pearls for in the washing machine and make a knot in the socks and put them in your gloves, after that let them air dry after every training and trow the socks in there after.
This is only for if they are realy smelly already and you wanted to trow them away as a last resort for my gloves it worked good but it can be that certain gloves cant handle this treatment.
@@timbabila Interesting! Good to know. And thanks for clarifying when you do it. For a min there I thought you were suggesting to do that every time! 😂
winning , hayabusa, di nardo they all use special thread (silver thread) for antimicrobial. they don't stink easily. Polyester or Nylon lining is not effective on wicking away moisture but better than cotton (Rival gloves use cotton that's why their gloves hold sweat longer than poly/nylon). Some of other gloves also mentioned "antimicrobial" on their pages. that's the most important thing you have to look for if you hate stinky gloves. of course, I always air them out after training and keep them in a dry box with a dehumidifier inside.
Pulled the old dusty gloves out for the first time in over a decade, and my gloves are MOLDY!!!! 🤮 Should I just get new ones? I'd like to save my money but, idk. They used to stink as it was, and now it's like, aged stank. Lol

Yeah, gym gloves are rough (usually). Sounds like you’re pretty resilient already though!

Really useful tips. Glove stick is the worst and why I use my own and not a pair from the gym.
Darren Meredith ughhh, community gloves are the worst! Having your own gloves is a must!
You can make a glove stick with a old sock filled with baking soda and essential oils. Trick is to replace the baking soda monthly.
Great tip, thanks! 🙏
That sounds legit. Gonna try. Thx
I don't have gloves, but I can use these tips for my other equipment. Great video.
Thank you!

You are a great parent, investing on his health and happiness with sports in general. Congrats!
bjj and boxing ? you are making a future champ
would be nice if the inside part could be removable and waterproof
My coach has told me to use a baby wipe every now and then to wipe the gloves inside and out then let them air out so fingers crossed that works!
Had my gloves for 4 years. I think it’s time to throw out. I think they are incurable.
How have they not Brocken I go through gloves every 6 months lol
@@brogonbtwbuy better gloves they last longer
@@brogonbtwwhat gloves do you use?
@@brogonbtwbecause you’re buying cheap shit
@@brogonbtwwhere are you buying gloves lol
lysol spray, clorox wipes, cheap hair dryer. i sweat like a faucet. this works for me.
Cheap hair dryer - good idea!
@@FirstStrikeAthletics thanks man. give it a try
We use newspaper 🙂
Just put inside the gloves and leave until the next training.
Also every few months wash them with baby clothes washing liquid.
That’s a good one. Simple and cost effective!
I tried that still was damn where the finger tips are and it created mold
Ozone machine inside a closed storage bin for 30 mins. Takes the odor out of everything - shoes, gloves, works on your car or fishing cooler, whatever
That’s an awesome tip, thanks for sharing’
How do you set this up, does it need ventilation? Or is the storage bin quite big?
@Shamusving large storage bin like size of a kitchen trash can is what I used. I did it in the open garage so there was plenty of ventilation
@@jamison6997 sweet as, thanks. Gonna try it out today. Just got a tub thing from Target and chucked it in the garage
I'd love to hear if anyone else has any tips o keeping the gloves clean!

Thank you for the video man :)
You’re welcome!
Does Lysol wipes work too?
It’s not the best idea you get a stinky shoe smell if you use it on sweat
Ok so my gloves are a lost cause and i need a new pair
This is equivalent to shaker bottle death smell
Oh man, I hate it when I leave it in my bag and then open it the next day 🤮 !
spray some spiritus inside
Putting hydro peroxide and rubbing alcohol works ?
Haven’t heard that one before, but it might 🤷?
No

I’d 100% get some new ones! Then again, I’m always look for an excuse to buy new gloves.
Great tips!! We used to put kitty litter in a tight woven sock and put that in smelly sneakers and gym bags. Don't know if that would be helpful
Interesting! Might be worth checking out..
Trow some scent pearls in there too
I got the same tank top but in black haha, I got it from a market in hua hin how bout you?
Pretty sure I got this one in Bangkok or Chiang Mai.
What happens if I throw them in the laundry?
I haven’t done it but my guess is leather being put in a lot of water and spun around the machine would ruin them.
Sanitiser
Don’t clean your gloves, beat your opponents with poison damage
haha!
Why not just put it in the washing machine
Dryer sheets work
Good to know, thanks!
do you put it in the glove over night?
Man I am stupid
What makes you dl say that?
