I just bought one of these on the weekend and couldn’t believe how easy it started, and how even the grass looked after I’d cut it.
They are great little machines 👍
Great little mower that mate,that rubber flap at the back is a safety feature as it stop debris from flying up from the blades,mine split last year and our fitter told me don’t use it till I fit a new one on there easy to fit it’s just a rod that slides through,great review as always mate keep up the great work.👍👍

Just brought one of these on special from my local hardware to replace a heap of crap victa 82V electric mower that doesn't cut anything from new .
What an amazing little mower the izy 16 inch is !!
I done 3 passes with my crappy electric victa and got a quarter of a catcher full and a really bad uneven cut , then i rolled the izy out on the same height and done one pass and got a full to the brim catcher and a nice consistent even amazing finish !
If you have a small lawn and what bang for buck you really cant go past the little weapon its fantastic ....

I had an izy for my own garden. Cut once a week left out in all weathers including winter and it never missed a beat in about 6-7 years. Great mowers and good review mate.
They must be the most abused mower in history...... I think nearly everyone has had one at least once in their career.

Couple of thing. I ordered mine online and the air filter needed inserting. and getting that grass clippings bag into the frame. I had to use spanners to hook the plastic over!
My old Honda still going strong after 25years.
They do don't they. I'm going to get my old one out for a spin
the 21 inch izys are my personal favourite
They are great mowers aren't they.
We have to use bigger ones these days for our commercial work but they will always have a special place in my heart.

I have a 536 HRD from 1996, one pull! Low maintenance, looks like Mad Max but bullitproof.
I don't think you can go wrong with them.
My old izy still fires up and we use a HRX on a daily basis 👍

It just stops completely I'm afraid.
Thanks for the video. I believe the old Izy's had 160cc engines, the new models have 145cc I think. How do they compare, is there enough power to cope with longer wet grass?
Well we had it for about a week after the video and cut a few lawns with it and it was really great. A bit small for our commercial needs but great for a home owner.
If only the handle was adjustable 🤔

@@JimmyTheMower Even the ones over seas? Here there closing the plants that make them in the usa. Switching them over to the atvs due to states are suing them for emissions and other reasons. Shame I love the Hondas and going to buy an extra one and keep it in a box for future use. Had no clue there switching to completely electric over there? Also this newer engine they just came out with it to. Shame there leaving. I prefer my gas to the electric. Battery's cost an arm and a leg to buy.

Thanks for your video, really appreciated your clear presentation. However the reason I ended up watching it is because Im housesitting for some friends who have asked me to mow their lawn while away. I went to use the mower, its an Izy, but dont get why it has a double bar.
After a few passes and deciding i needed to raise the blade i stopped the mower and couldn’t restart the engine, then wondered if i was doing something wrong with this double bar thing. Anyway, i understand the deadman’s handle, but cant find out what the second bar is for….hence why i was watching your video in the first place. The mower you demo only has the one though. Could you please tell me what that extra bar is for? Thanks in advance, K
The second bar is to drive the rear wheels so you don't have to push it.
If you are having trouble getting it started, make sure the fuel tap is on and the underneath is clear of grass so that the blade can spin clearly.
And it is always better to mow high and then drop it down a notch and mow again.

I have a BRAND NEW HRG 416 SK and it is misfiring and cutting out every time i accelerate to its fullest. I am having to hold the accelerator with my thumb half way to keep the engine running... HELP!
It is probably choking on long grass.
There is only one speed regardless of how far you hold in the handle.
You need to raise the height of cut.
I've read that the problem with the Izy self propelled is it's too slow and only does about 2mph if that. Is this true? Are they too slow?.
They aren't slow as such.
But the engine runs, or at least sounds like it runs at the lowest revs of any mower engine I've used.
It worked well for me for many years until i could afford bigger and better.
Just purchased a new Honda izy 16sk I was using my old petrol mower for 38 years but will not throw it away as myself it has gone into retirement...am I right in saying that with the 16sk provided you do not put the mower in gear it should push forward and backwards..... Thanks
Yes, it should definitely free wheel backwards and forwards when the gear isn't engaged.
Push or driven, what would you choose for a sub 100sqm lawn?
If you are happy to push then push it.
The less complications there are with a machine the better 👍

Why are the new ones with the new plastic top extremely slower than the older model skep466 and i mean these one ie the one you have in the video so so slow and can you adjust the speed
I think they have altered the engine to comply with emissions laws and they feel like they are just running on tick over.
You can't speed them up unfortunately 😕
Think it will be going back tomorrow if that's the case
I just can't get over how slow it was today this lawn wasent over grown and it seemed under powered sluggish and as it was cutting u could just feel it was struggling the dealer had put it up etc I won't mention the dealer name as they are well respected in the North West but when your grandad can move faster with his zim zimmer there's something wrong

Can someone tell me how low the mower goes ?
On the lowest setting they are around 20mm or ¾ of an inch. Which is pretty good for a rotary 👍

Does anyone know the length of this without the grass box on, please? Need to store it in a small space.
I think it is just over 2ft.
The handles fold down too for easy storage

Is there any truth that newer Honda engines are set at factory to run at lower revs to comply with environmental requirements? One of my neighbours has a 20 year old Izzy and it picks up much better than my new one, faster revs equals higher vacuum effectiveness!!!
I don't think there's anything official but I can confirm that the newer ones seem to run just above tick over and it just doesn't seem fast enough to me.
I haven't tried them on wet grass so can't comment on the performance
Do not like the idea of the rubber....if the grass is slightly damp it could encourage the grass to lay flat for return cut... would remove rubber myself
You can easily remove the rubber strip
A great mower,spoiled by rubbish plastic wheel bushings,which will fail.Will cost you £60 to put proper ones in.Some new hondas,like the hrn,can't have bearings put in.This is honda cost cutting.Shame,I've used hondas for years.but only the hrd and hrx are good now
I whole heartedly agree, that they don't seem to have the same build quality as they used to
Yes it's a shame.I still use 2 ixys on a regular basis with no issues.One our local honda dealers has stopped selling them,after many years.He now sells weibangs and says his commercial customers love them,although they are very heavy.I was tempted,but when you think of them being Chinese,you are put off.Commercial users know what they are talking about though.
Which model do you recommend
They're quite noisy really, I've got one and an old China engine Mountfield. The latter's much quieter
