Just got one..love it. MANY THANKS FOR THESE PRICELESS VIDS
The transteel 2200 is definitely on my want list.
Reeds Fab Great machine for all the wire options for sure 💯
Always great to come get the more I depth settings. 💯🙌🏻
I was a bit overwhelmed at first but then I started watching your 3 part series and then your liner replacement vid and now i'm much more comfortable with the functions. You are a great teacher. Do you know the range of wire diameters that the liner will accept? Thanks again man! Well done!
Brandon Lund Thanks 👊 You can run .023 up to .045 on the same liner. If you do run aluminum I suggest using 3/64 or 047 wire size using a 1/16 liner and 052 tips
Thanks for this. helps a lot.
No problem
Thanks for posting video.I just got a Transteel 2200.These videos have been very helpful. This machine can lay down some nice welds with minimal spatter. The only thing I don't like is the plastic wire drive system.I am really looking to welding some aluminum with this machine. Unfortunately the parts I need to weld aluminum with this machine have been on backorder for several weeks now.
Hey 👋 Shoot me an email. Bliven.Christopher@fronius.com
hi WHAT max wire speed? and max volt? TransSteel 2200 on 230v ac
Hello,
I have been using the Transsteel 2200 for about 8 months. Love it!
I have been forced to use Selfshielded Fluxcore as I don't have access to Gas. So far so good.
My question:
I need to do some Stainless... I pick up some Stainless Selfshielded Fluxcore... Do I still use the Selfshielded Wire setting on the Front panel?
Thanks
Yes, use the self shielded program for stainless self shielded
@@chris_b_liven Thanks... Your videos have been great. Very helpful for me... haven't welded since High-school (46 yrs ago)
These videos are pricelees. MUCH APPRECIATED BRO.
Is there a 5 meter lead/torch with a LED available for the 2200?
Bought one. Just brilliant
Hey. Sorry about a delayed response. Yes, there is a few different options. Did you go with a MTG 320i red handle ?
Great videos!! Watched the whole 3 part series. Bought the 2200. Must say a little disappointed that the synergic mode doesn’t go higher than 155 with the 75/25 gas. Any suggestions? Welding 1/4” mild steel, and I really want to use the synergic mode?
Awesome! Thanks for watching. The material thickness is a little off on the synergic mode. It will weld quite a bit thicker than .155 - I’ve done thicker than 3/8 in a single pass. I suggest going off wire feed speed
@@chris_b_liven Thanks. I’ll give it a try
@@chris_b_livenI just got my 2200, and found the same set at material thickness 210 burned right through 1/4”. Wire speed around 300-350 got me in the ballpark, adjusting voltage based on flat or vertical, still experimenting. Any software updates to correct the synergic profiles?
Chris, thanks so much for the 3 videos, cleared up allot.
- why the "err 51" on startup tho, that had me kinda freaked out until I seen yours do it to;
- what's the squiggly line on between the 2 displays really mean?
Thanks.
Thanks for watching. Yes, the error 51 is normal when powering up on single phase power. It’s showing it’s single basically in a code . The squiggly line is inductance in MIG mode or DIG in stick mode . If your looking for a crispy MIG arc go more minus. If you want a softer MIG weld go more positive. In stick mode the more positive the more dig
I love your videos!! Thank you for putting these out. I know you might be biased but in regards to mig quality have you ever played around with the Miller 211 or Multimatic 215 and how the fronius compares strictly to mig?
Thanks for the comments 💯I’ve welded with with both units and they are decent machines for sure . The one thing I like about the TransSteel 2200 is the options in regards to Synergic capabilities. Miller has about 4-8 auto set lines and the TransSteel has 24 . If you plan on doing a variety of wire types it’s a sweet tool! Also, the lift arc tig is super smooth - You have to try one out one day. Let me know if you want to try one out
@@chris_b_liven I would love to try one out but I'm right next to San Francisco, CA which I think is quite far from a Fronius distributor and we have the whole chaos going on haha. I already have a AHP 200 for tig with AC and HF start so I'm happy in those regards so I'm mostly getting it for mig and a little stick. Is the arc quality on the mig for Fronius substantially better or would you say they are on par?
Tech Guy I would say substantially better! Just the arc stability alone and for $1994 price tag you can’t beat it - We have have two Fronius reps in Sacramento. If you want to try one shoot me an email at Bliven.Christopher@fronius.com
@@chris_b_liven No need I'm already sold! Thank you for your response good sir and the videos!
Hi Chris,
First of love your work .
Why is that when I mig weld in manual flip up my hood after running a bead & sometimes my settings change ?
Any help would be great
Kevin, it’s probably because it’s showing an actual AMP setting during welding. We call it a hold. It holds actual settings on the display during welding
When mig welding aluminum will it automatically switch to tig/argon side?
Kye Staples You need to switch the process to MIG or TIG and this will activate the solenoid on the back
I got one but it doesn't have the 110 cable option. The newer versions must just have a fixed cable.
I also have a slight issue with the MIG sometimes not arcing.. any thoughts?
It comes with 4 cables - Two 110v and Two 230v . If your having issues with not arcing it could be a few different reasons. The most common is the welding torch isn’t pushed in all the way. It may look like it is but if the colored inlet guide isn’t right next to the drive wheels then it’s not in all the way
Im new to fronius i recently purchased the 2200 and have alot of questions is it possible to chat while im at my machine and go over things?
James, Thanks for watching. How did the videos help? Have you started using the machine ?
Is this a good first time welder for someone who hasnt welded overly much and wants to get into welding more?
The one thing that makes it perfect for a first time welder is you can set it up without being a novice welder. MIG wire type , diameter wire , gas mixture and set material thickness of plate . Then your welding - This is for 24 different wire types and variations
@@chris_b_liven ok thanks alot!!!
When they come out AC tig and interface like esab? I’m waiting.
They have an AC/DC machine called a MagicWave 230i ? Are you talking full multiprocess
@@chris_b_liven ya i like the transteel 2200 but i been waiting for them upgrading the screen like esab 205 or at least like the miller but i been waiting and waiting. i think i end up buying esab 205 now so sad :(
my garage is connected to a 15 A breaker 110 V .Am I ok with that or should I change the breaker and wires to 20 A Thanks .I want use 110 V
You will be fine on the 15A breaker. When you get setup with the machine you can always set the breaker size in the background menu
thanks
I’m not quite understanding the tig start on this machine. It just seems to stick it seems like it was happening with you also, can you describe how it supposed to go? My lift tig everlast doesn’t stick like this. can you please explain it?
I found if you touch the tungsten at a slight angle and then pull the trigger it works the best
@@chris_b_liven does that contaminate the weld? Or tungsten
@@adambergmann7716 the machine senses the short and when you pull away it lights the arc vs pulling the trigger prior to touching which causes random stick. Any type of lift arc over time can cause tungsten wear vs high frequency but you can make it limited based on angle and touch prior to starting
A 45 degree lift off seems the best with arc strike
Are these.still the best?
I feel they are the best !!!
My 220 power source has a 50amp breaker. Is that too much?
Sorry about the late response. Yes, technically a 50 amp breaker is too large where it’s rated for 16 amps on 220 V power. Almost everyone runs the machine on a 50 amp breaker anyways
MilkyCereal83 the lowest 220 breaker I have found local is a 40 amp
S4v4g3 86 You will be fine
I want, how to operate Fronius 5000 mig welding machine
Good Plan. TransSteel 5000 or TPS 5000?
Milky, can you or someone please address my issue with our Transsteel 2700? Corey has been here 4 times now and we can’t figure out why it’s not feeding properly. I’m pretty much dead in the water right now. I’ve called and left a message with Shaun yesterday morning when Corey was here and still haven’t received a call back or any kind of correspondence. I really need to get this issue resolved not sure how else to go about it. I have numerous videos and photos of the feed issue. Corey has seen it first hand. Please have Shaun get back to me.
I think Cory has you resolved... Did you get it figured out ? I hope all is good
@@chris_b_liven yes he did. I appreciate that guy. Thanks man!!
i have the same welding machine, its great but i hateeeeeeeeeee this red plastic every scratch you can se after 2 days of use,btw i have steel shop i make heavy duty stuff and i need that kind of machine.but its not rugged and i hate it
Gotcha !!! Shoot me over your info and serial number and I’ll get you a Fronius swag bag... Bliven.Christopher@Fronius.com
Hindi only rmd pipe welding
Do you still talk to chucke2009, or did his sudden racist, homophobic and genocidal videos make you and fronius think twice
Cody Carswell Thanks for reaching out. Did you end up getting a TransSteel. Thanks for watching
@@chris_b_liven I wish, no I got a rebel 285ic,so do u and fronius still support chucke2009s new direction,I'm gonna guess not
Cody Carswell You are correct
@@chris_b_liven ya it was pretty shocking to see the direction he took. I guess that's texas

Is this unit able to do CuSi3 and AlSi with pulse mode?
Hello 👋 no pulse mode function but it welds great in standard synergic mode
