@@chris_b_liven I'm sorry, I'm getting at my wits end with this Esab model I've had for a few yrs. But- I can't decide which one model 2700 or 2200. The various gun liners that fronius sells with these to 0.035, 0.045 etc. Is there a separate linear that I have to swap out/purchase between aluminum and mild steel set up, is there one linear that works for both between feeding 0.30 to 0.045 and whichever alloy ? Thank you for your time
George Hindley I suggest ordering the 1/16 liner, .052 tips and .045 drive wheels and weld with 3/64 aluminum wire. You can weld all the way down to .060 plate thickness. Then swap the liner each time you want to weld aluminum as it will eliminate cross contamination
Good job Chris on the demo of a GREAT machine. The technology in the new welding machines is amazing. They are a long way from the old 350lb transformer stick only machines. Back in the day they were state of the art.
Just got mine today. Thanks to the guys at GTW welding supplies. Haven’t used it yet. If I didn’t have to work tomorrow I’d be out there all night having fun! Thanks Chris for this video. Very helpful
Thank you for your videos, they are excellent. This is an excellent mig machine, top tear, with the TIG and especially the stick functions looking like an afterthought to me.
I have a quick question, When you were adjusting your settings at the 7:57ish mark how were you able to adjust it in that manner. I've tried numerous times to make the settings on my TransSteel 2700 and my machine will not allow me to make the adjustments your making. If I adjust the voltage the wire feed speed changes, Like I cant seem to change any individual setting while in synergic mode like you are here. Thank You
Hey Chris, thanks for the Fronius videos! I have looked through the manual and cant seem to figure out how to change the wire feed speed from metric to SAE, how did you change it? mine is metric
Got the TS2000, questions: 1) Why is there no Synergic mode for 0.8mm flux core? 2) Why does Aluminium start at 1mm, and if you have 0.8mm wire, can you still use it?
Hey. The 2700 should be a big enough machine for truck repair. What is the maximum wire size you will use? There is a promotion running where you receive a free secondary MIG lead with purchase. Shoot me an email and I can help with directing you to the closest dealer - Bliven.Christopher@fronius.com
If you need the option of bigger spools then Yes! If you don’t mind 10lbs spools and the option of 110 then I would get a 2200. There is a promo running until July 15th on the 2200. If you register the serial number you get a free MIG lead. If you shoot me an email with your info I can have a distributor reach out - bliven.christopher@fronius.com
What is the liner size you recommend for using mig for aluminum 1/16, now is that the same as [ Fronius Mig Gun Steel Liner C 1.6 - 40, 0002, 0055, 005]? Can you please send a link or a description how to set this 2700 up for Mig Aluminum
I have the same machine running on a single phase power supply but i don't know why im limited to 155 material thickness on the board Mig Synergic mode what am i doing wrong ?
Which type of wire and diameter? There is a background setting where you can set your fuse size. Make sure it’s turned to max or off to open up the machine amperage
Will it weld body work? 22 gauge steel Chris? What's the thinnest you've been able to weld effectively? Lastly, how does it compare to the 2200 with welding thinner material?
Shelby Grinders Body work wont be an issue with the machine. I suggest using the steel root program as it’s super stable down to 20-30 amps. I didn’t talk about the stitch timer it has included but this works very well for keeping heat out. At the very end I told the limitations on single it’s 220 Amps MIG / 180 Stick / 260 Amps TIG . Let me know if you have more questions
@@chris_b_liven Yes I actually stopped the video short and asked the question about the amperage prematurely lol. I edited the question, thank you brother and sub'd. ;)
@@chris_b_liven One last question, barring the 44lb spool, is there any benefit to getting the 2700 over the 2200 since the amperage is exactly the same via single phase? I really like being able to plug my migs into a regular 110v as well, (which the 2200 has capabilities of doing), so again, would there be any benefit at all barring the 44lb spool?
Shelby Grinders 4 roll drive system vs 2, larger spool options, about 30 more amps in TIG, Root programs and possibly of three phase power. If you like the 110 option and don’t care about larger spools then I would say 2200
I have the magic wave 230 and love it. Thinking about getting this to upgrade my esab fabricator 252i. What CANT this do that the comparable MiG only miller and Lincoln’s (powermig and millermatic) can do? Anything? Why would anybody not get this?!
@@chris_b_liven I feel that. It just feels borderline goofy to buy a multi process machine strictly for the MiG. I wish they made a MiG only equivalent that was cheaper because I already have a way better tig and will never use this for tig. My only other wish is that this could go way lower amps on 115 volt power like the magic wave can.

Chris the thing with spray is if you going to do it then you have to do it correctly otherwise its almost pointless at times..
