I’ve been doin a hood of research on this 2200. I really like the ability to mig aluminum with this machine. I have a transpocket 180 for stick/tig and I love that I can weld with 7018 at 120 amps on a 120v outlet. The lack of 6010 ability of this 2200 is kind of a bummer. I’m contemplating buying this 2200 or the htp pro pulse 220.
Thanks for reaching out. I love the Transpocket 180 for stick. It’s my go to machine for stick welding. I agree with you on a bummer for 6010 on the TST 2200 but the machine MIG welds like a dream. We are running a promotion through the end of June where you receive a free tool case with purchase
Chris, I appreciate all these fine videos about how to set up the machine. Thanks alot buddy. I'm not willing to fork $400+ on a tig torch right now. If I use the CK Worldwide dins adapter, is there's any solution you know of for finger trigger to still use the lift start function for tig?
Great stuff, but can you run 6010 or 6011 rods on it? can it weld very thin steel and mig thin aluminium, I am one step away from getting one, but also have my eye on the Artis 170.

@@chris_b_liven Hi, Chris, will do, the open circuit voltage suggests it should handle cellulose rods, but not even 6011( even the cheap amazon ones can do that.
@@chris_b_liven The TS200 has an open circuit voltage of 90V, so on paper it SHOULD run any rod, online one guy said he talked to a tech guy at Fronius that said it will run any rod including the 6010, so question is, have you tried running 6010 or is it just based on a possibly false rumour?
@@chris_b_liven Also, I think it has a feature to prevent long arcing? maybe people are not disabling that before trying 6010 and then thinking it cant weld it?

Thanks man, that was very helpful. I just purchased a Fronius Transsteel 2200, haven't even got it out of the box yet. I have some few questions if you don't mind. I am not interested in short-circuit MIG, ans was wondering what are my possibilities with dual shield, spray transfer and metal cored? *What is the largest metal cored size wire that I can run on the 2200? *Can I do dual shield with .035 on it? And what is the Synergic Program for dual shield, is it the Rutil/ E71T? *What is the maximum output voltage on this machine @ 230VAC input power? The documents states that it's 24.5v but I have seen on one of your videos that it can go higher? *What is the largest solid wire diameter that I can use with the 2200 *Does Fronius offer a flux core nozzle for when using FCAW and wanting to protect the threads and diffuser? I am using the machine in a hobby environment, but I mostly weld 1/4 inch and above, and was wondering that maybe I could exchange my machine with a 2700 for more power to achieve spray transfer and dual shield. Any idea what's the voltage range on 2700? On the website, under product details it says it's 14.5-27.5 V, but on the operation instructions PDF it says it's 14.5 - 34.9 V. Which one to believe? Also, does the 2700 have the power correction factor that allows for using extension cords like with the 2200? *What is the Steel Transfer Technology? Sorry for the many questions, but the user manual is poor and doesn't have these info, and you seem very knowledgeable about these machines. Thanks again for your time and effort.
You can run up to .045 71T or Metal Cord wires with the TransSteel 2200 and the machine is rated at 100% duty cycle around 150 Amps. Yes, they have .035 dual shield synergic settings ready to use in the machine and its Rutil/E71-T. The voltage does go higher than the stated voltage by increasing your arc length correction to a positive. There is a +30 percentage of voltage increase based on the 24.5 V as standardThe largest solid wire with the synergic setting is .035 but I'm sure you can run .045 in manual mode. The 2200 is rated for 5/16 plate thickness and it can weld for around 3-4 min out of 10 min at max. I have other videos showing what you can achieve with the machine on 220 V power and 110 V using solid wire. 95/5 Oxygen allows you to achieve spray at a lower voltage range with solid wire vs a 90/10 CO2. Have you tried .035 Flux Cored wire yet? Did you buy the machine in the US? Steel Transfer Technology is just a term for all the synergic waveforms designed for steel welding
@@chris_b_liven Thanks for answering my questions. I have bought the machine not long ago, and had to travel before I was able to take it out of the box, so I have not tried anything on it yet, but I do look forward to it when I get back. I bought the machine from a local dealer outside the US (Qatar), they made me a good offer that i could't refuse, even though I was looking for a 250-300 amp machine like the 2700, but I liked the fact that I could use the machine with long extension cords, the solid built, 1 phase power, and the price ($1600). I would really like to try dual shield with .035 since most of metal I work with in my hobby shop is 1/4'' and above. The only problem that I have is the shortage of 10-15 lbs spools that can fit in the machine. I wish it was able to take easier to get bigger spools like the HTP pro pulse could. Do you know if Fronius offers a flux core nozzle?
