By far my best purchase and the most advanced machine ive ever used. I couldnt be happier with my TS 2200.

I have had my 2200 for nearly a year now. I works very well. I recently made an awning from 6061 aluminum using 5356 0.35 wire on the synergic 0.40 setting and it worked fine. I decided to go with 2 mig gun setups. one 10 foot with Teflon liner for aluminum and one 15 foot
set for steel. I used the factory settings with the 5356 wire and had no problems. I have not gone too far into adjusting for fine tuning just small tweaks for the joint configuration. For steel I did not see a need to tweak the synergic settings other than changing the inductance and arc force. For aluminum I did set the arc to soft at setting 4.0 to reduce splatter which it did. ( with 5356) .On stick I did some hard facing on snow plow blade shoes using chrome 58 rods ,they ran smooth no bb's just a very soft arc. Once you digest the menu you will find this a very very , good welder. I have done a bit of tig with it for practise so I can't report on it except that it has a smooth arc and I need more practise. One thing I like is that the fan does not come on till you weld for some time, and when it does it is quiet, not like my Esab 215 where the fan it on as some as you pull the trigger ,its loud and stays on for nearly 10 minutes after you stop welding. The Fronius is a much quieter welder than any others I have had.

Hi Andrew, How about doing a video on aluminum with the mig setup and also doing some silicone bronze , I did a bit of silicone bronze and it is good just set the welder for low splatter with soft arc.

The only thing I don’t like is I can’t run 6010 stick. Everything else is great! I love this machine. Have not done tig yet but a lot of mig steel and aluminum with about 10 pounds of 7018. Hate to say it but my trailer blazer sets quietly on the back of the pickup. Most my jobs I can find a 110 outlet and get after it! Awesome video thanks for breaking down the upslope and downslope.

Can it do 6011, and is 6011 any worse than 6010?

Thanks much for the overview! Much appreciated! I subscribed. As a newbie I consider buying this machine for hobby purposes and the sales reps in Austria keep trying to steer me to machines from other brands with the argument this model is DC and therefore can not weld aluminum. These are not Fronius sales, but other companies. I see many clips showing how to MIG weld aluminum... so I can't understand if is this just sales BS or do they really have a point. I definitely want to stick to Fronius, so would you please consider making a video to clarify the types of welding done with a Fronius Magicwave 230i and in contrast -- the types of welding done with the Transsteel 2200 ? Seems to me the Transsteel 2200 has much broader applications than the MagicWave 230i. (Some videos say one can do everything with Magicwave 230i, but they really don't expand on what "everything" is / means to them.) Thanks again for sharing your time and knowledge with us! ... I will not be doing fine autobody welding work, so Transsteel 2200 seems like the best all-around welding setup.

I have this machine in my shop and I hate it. It’s been here for two years, and is overly complicated. Wish it was a miller, nearly dummy proof.
