I just put together a similar system using a Dell Optiplex 9020 MT! Kept the case, added 16 GB of RAM, (24 GB total), added 1 TB WD Blue SSD, kept the 500 GB Seagate 7200 RPM HD, and added an EVGA GT 1050 Ti. The system runs great! Nice and fast after tweaking Windows. The system has an Intel I5 4690. I couldn't be happier!
Nice job! Creep it up man! 👍🏽
Hahaha, finding the yes tech mojo again! You’ve literally just made a potato into a something, just like going back to your roots of this channel.... that’s why u feel soooo oddishly proud.
Tech YES Hustle
You are the reason I got into budget builds! I absolutely have a blast building and sourcing parts. Love the blue box! Cheers m8
Started building budget PCs this january, inspired by your videos. Tomorrow it's time for build #4.
Holy crap mate, I can’t believe how much just making this build being visually pleasing made it more like a “I have to have”. Watching your videos after doing my own DIY build I see more of the aesthetics I could have made better on a budget. Good to see you can find these parts for builds.
Great build, great music during build as well... this is giving PC's a new lease of life and surprised it runs so well with GTA5. Superb mate, keep up the good work (UK)
That was how i built my first pc 100$ for i7 m93 8gb then upgrade psu and case for 60$ and a hyper 212 for 30$ and r9 380 for 40$ upgraded ram to 16gb for free i think. Brings back the good ol memories
I hope to create some good memories. i am realizing that If I had access to info and advice like I get from youtube, I would have gotten into building PCs a long time ago. I wasn't around people who knew these kinds of things and I myself didn't know. It's a lot of information to take in< I am just learning about GPUs and discovering that I had a chance to build a pc when I was growing up. My Parents worked in government and I used to salvage hard drives from the massive amounts of waste that happens behind the scenes of government IT. I realize that I might have even been able to play any game I wanted to, with some tinkering.
These days I have a family and bills. I am just trying to build a pc to replace my i5 laptop which has its limitations now after 9 years. its a bitter sweet thing because had I been a computer geek, I wouldn't have discovered the things I did.
That's the most powerful I/O shield I've ever seen - holy hell!!
- Nice video Yes Man! - great to see this stuff back on the channel
I've been wanting to do this with a hp sff that has a i7-2600 in it and you have just given me the Tech YES Approval to do so.
HP? Oh man... I don't want to give you bad news, but the HPs of those generations weren't exactly easy to "transplant", like the Lenovos, they were pretty simple; HP usually uses a different power connector and/or a different motherboard format that doesn't fit regular cases...
@@rhyzon it depends on which hp. I just used an hp ipisb motherboard from whatever pc its from. It has a 24 pin connector and even the proper power button pins. it just needs a work around that involves flashing the bios to get any graphics card newer than gtx 600 series.
@@budbundy2909 he means that the mobo of those hp models are not re-casesable or you cant put the mobo in a regular atx/matx case because of its different form factor.
@@rhyzon You are right about the cases and that was the main reason I didn't do so. It has a BTX motherboard and a BTX case is hard to find that would work for me. I was thinking about making an open air case but never got around to doing so. I never did look into seeing if they make an adapter for a PSU upgrade, which I probably should do.
@@hlbatesjr that's exactly what I meant. And I know that there is an adapter somewhere, there's some people who have done it. But to be perfectly honest, as someone who has used those mobos before: save the CPU, sell the remainder of the system and grab an H61 mobo, it's a lot easier :D.
wow another sweet build, Great man
looking forward for more content.
I’m interested in this Secret custom windows install that you’re talking about? Can you explain this a little further I didn’t really understand but I would like to know more about it
All we be answered soon, fellow pirate captain. HEYARRR
@@techyescity do I miss the slowpoke RX 550 4gb in your list
Pirated windows 10 from torrents? Lol
Ameliorated &/ older version perhaps, which also had Windows 10 debloater. We'll see soon enough though. Might be time to flash a new install.
This maybe?
softopc.com/windows-10-lite-download-page/
Excited for the Windows 10 lite version video.
Nice build, can't wait for the windows 10 custom install. Small hint for the looks, use some shrinkable tube isolation for the wires it will be neat
For a finishing touch, cut the fan exhaust grille from the old M93 case to cover the hole next to the SFF power supply. Should be able to use double sided tape to secure it, maybe a dab of superglue. If you don't want all the holes, any flat black cutout from the side of the old case will do. The Dremel is your friend!
Price/performance.. this is the fire we all need! Love this point of vue in your content! 👨💻
Thanks for the video and hope you and yours stay safe will all the bad rain storms and flooding that's happening on the east coast of Australia.
This build is just fantastic sir!
The music is one of the reasons why i always come back. :)
Dude tech yes . That looks very clean man . Keep it up yo
Spot on video Bryan, just what is needed atm.
that's exactly the cpu I'm using
i5 4440 (turbo boost on@3.3ghz🤯)😛
rx570 4gb
8gb dual channel@1600 mhz
msi h81
1tb hdd+500gb hdd+256gb ssd+120gb ssd.
I need to have a lot of operating system maan😅😅
What os's do you run?
Lemme guess, 😅
1Tb for whatever files
500Gb for backups
256Gb for important programs & other OS
120Gb for main OS
Great Vid. Had the same computer & decided to do the case swap. Turned out great. Couldn't have done it without the guidance from your vid. 👍
youl know what, I like this build :) looks pretty great with the LEDs too!
Heat Shrink tubing is a wonderful thing...
yeah made me cringe was cheap tape aswell
Must be the Tech Yes Girl
New grilfriend in the background ? :)
Noticed that lol
she needs some Tech Yes lovin too ;)
@@Sonu666 legend
Nowadays man can consider a PC his girlfriend. Oh the chick? She was just buying a PC ;)
@@techyescity what is the track you used at the beginning of your vid?????
Gotta love these builds..😁
I dig a good Haswell based price/performance build.
Those chips really hold up nicely.
I got a 1271v3 paired with a gtx 1650 right now that runs like a dream.
"Unobtainium" wow you really made laugh 🤣🤣
Tanks for made this video It will serve as a guide to improve my Lenovo m93p
Love the video, sir. Great looking machine. Very inspiring. :)
The combination you have here is great for all these Esport Games and yes its a great feeling to make something that looks so good for such a low price..I would have gone for the new power supply I have purchased a few of the connectors not just the 14 to 24 but a few of the other ones as well.. I just need to get some cases to convert them over lol.
Keep up man great stuff 💪
Used to do this all the time with old workstations! great price/performance!
nice and cool build!
Nice build man
I love these builds
I literally built an sold a system with this exact motherboard and an i5-4460 this week. Even used blue LED fans just like you... used a three pin fan splitter to extend to the molex-powered fan and get rid of that boot error screen. Paired it with a GTX 770, similar build cost, sold for $500. This is the third time that you've uploaded of a video of a system nearly identical to a system I've recently flipped. I even picked up the OC version of that exact GTX 1050 TI last week, sadly for a much steeper $120, but in this market I'll take it.
nvm I guess it was an HP but still..
I watched this and I love it haha.
I built a machine JUST like this for my friend.
Lenovo M73 Mid Tower i5 4570 motherboard + CPU
Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3
GTX 960 4GB
PowerSpec 550W PSU 80 Plus bronze + 24 pin to 14 pin adapter
120GB SSD
1TB HDD
DITPY 60 dollar RGB Case plus the 80MM fan from the Lenovo
I replaced the 80mm fan on the CPU Cooler with a blue LED 80MM fan
It looks awesome the whole PC lights up blue
I also take the spare 80MM fan from these PC's and I put them next to the hole from using the OEM PSU as not only a place for the fan to go or a thing to per say fill that spot but the OEM PSU doesnt have a good cooling method so having additional airflow helps
Good price on that imagination, truly a Tech YES City deal!
These are great! I picked up it's older cousin - an M91p - for free. Nice thing about those is, they use standard ATX power connections (although the sff PSU is very meh - 230w). All the RAM was bad, but the board was solid and of course a 2nd gen i5...put it in a Musetex case with a GTX760 and until recently when I got a 4th gen Optiplex tower with 8gb, it was my streaming PC.
Hey tech yes city I'm having a problem with my PC build I just got finish putting my PC together but for some reason when I turn it on it shows nothing on my monitor and I don't know what else to do. Is there a way to send you my PC so you can see what the problem is??? I really need help please respond.
I love these machines for flips!!! I get em for $50 a pop when my buddy gets em in. I actually did a video modding one out, and it was prolly my best work in terms of mods, but they are so much better just popping them into regular sized cases. The only thing you need to do is buy the 24-14 ATX Power Supply Adapter, but they're like $8 bucks on Ebay.
That ssd casing had me cracked up lol
looking forward to that windows lite video!
Does anyone know how to get around Lenovo's 9 pin HD Audio Connection? Standard PSU's have 11 pin connectors. I know there are adapters out there. Just wondering if there's another way.
Nice build im aiming to build like that nice vid brian. And hoping for the windows 10 lite.
Tech Yes price performance PC is 👌🏻👌🏻 Enjoying this build/episode. Its shows you dont need the latest kit to game. Tech Yes ❤ , makes Components look new👌🏼👌🏼. Thanks Bryan for an awesome channel, I always enjoy ur content 👌🏼👌🏼 and cant wait for next episode to drop. awesome
honest and neutral reviews.
Hi, how does the 4th gen i5 stack up against a 3rd gen i7 (or Xeon equiv) in 2021??
Yes. I need that windows 10 lite install video, sounds awesome to help move low ram setups.
Perfect, I recognized the PSU, my old 2011 Gateway i3 2100 potato has the same PSU. I've thought about doing the transplant, so it's nice to see one done.
Nice build! I remember once trying to case swap a Acer Veriton 4th gen into a Corsair Obsidian 400D lol it did not go well re: short PSU cables
I have a question, my front panel has the "RESET SW" option, do you know which position I put it in? I found everyone's position except him
I'm curious is the 4 pin CPU conector on the board a standard size Lenovo are buggers for using smaller sized 4 pins like the one for the Sata connectors and how straight forward is it to add a standard higher wattage PSU.
YES! THACK YOU FOR CASE SWAP
We need more of case swaps
i have a question , does the lenovo thinkcentre edge 72 desktop support a MSI amd radeon RX 570 8gb? and does it support the intel core i7 6700k?
I love the tech yes man
Just a question, i use a 1050Ti and a Ryzen 5 1600, but i only get 40fps average playing at 1080p Medium/High settings, so question is, Do you know/have any idea why that is? I've seen both you and RandomHDgaming test GTA 5 as of late and both of you have much, much higher fps in GTA 5 then my system *Random did it with a 6700 and got about the same average fps*
why the 1050 ti doesn t have a 6 pins ?
I’m doing a case swap for my Lenovo thinkcentre. How did you manage to get the USB connections on the front panel to work?
I like that wavy-curvy design keyboard
This was so cool! Any original idea for covering the gap left out by the TFX PSU? I was wondering that it would be quite the dust trap otherwise.
I'm currently working on this PC but whenever I installed a new graphics card it boots up but there is no signal and it's not being detected by bios
Where can I learn what to solder and what not?
Really stuck with recasing a S500 Lenovo...
awesome dude. giving me ideas!
My budget build Esports gaming PC parts came in today for a build I'm doing for my buddy. It'll be his first one. $654 but that price includes a 24" 75Hz monitor and peripherals, 16GB OLOy RAM, ASRock A320, 120GB M.2 SSD for boot drive, 1TB BarraCuda for mass storage, AeroCool Cylon RGB Mid Tower, Apevia CAPTAIN550 ATX PSU, and of course a Ryzen 3 2200G until GPUs come down. Holding my new ones like gold and this will crush CSGO and Valorant for now.
Does anyone know if that spray is available in America that makes the parts so pretty and shiny? Sorry to ask, but I don't want to be spraying something on my motherboard and other parts with something I shouldn't. Thanks in advance.
The TECH YES MAN IS BACK!
I’m really hoping you can read my comment but online the database says you need a suggested TDP of 250W the power supply is 240W. Is the 10w difference significant?
Love the greg Salazar callout lol
Hi...what is the size of that mobo? Sorry im not computer tech...i have m82 as well and i want to change case...what case do i look for Matx, itx, micro itx?
Thanks in advance man..
I am so happy with my six and a half year old MSI GTX980 Gaming 4gb right now. Heey do I miss the slowpoke RX 550 4gb in your list Bryan?
thats how i feel about my RX480 8g i got in 2016 at MSRP right before the fist Cripto boom
Rx 550 is for beginners of course it’s gonna be slow for anyone using a high end card
You, Tech Yes Man, are the Robin Hood of PC-gaming!
What about optiplexes? A while back I swapped the case on on of those and kept get a cpu fan error and some other errors.
Finally something I can afford!
i hope the Win10 lite tutorial comes out as soon as possible since i just finishing my first build. I know nobody asked but its budget xeon pc. Thanks Bryan for bringing the best of xeons to us.
I actually used the same case. For some reason, the front panel audio jack, does not work on mine. Pintouts are different from the tr100 than the case. Any tips?
Is there anywhere at all for those front intakes to actually get air? Seems like it's basically solid glass on two sides, solid rear panel on the other with no gaps whatsoever for airflow.
Sir..can u share how u modified powerbutton from this gaming case to lenovo motherboard? actually i also wanna transfer my lenovo h30-50 to this casing(tr1100).or lenovo mobo can just plugged in direct this case powerbutton?i really appreciate if u can help me..good video and very inspire me to do that to my lenovo pc
The green motherboard is retro awesome.
Yay! green is the new black.
I love that the 1050ti was on the verge of death after the 30 series was released but because of the 30 series, it's had a resurgence.
What did you do for the front usb? Those aren't quite standard either, and I haven't found any adapters.
Just curious did you try to place an exhaust fan next to the inverted power supply? I hate open spaces so I would have tried to place some sort of fan there
Nice going with that build. Have you ever tried and succeeded at a Dell Optiplex 9020 Small Form Factor case transplant like you did with that Lenovo? I have so many of these that clients threw out and it would be great to see if these could be made into gaming PCs.
I saw on a local deal an Fujitsu Primergy tx100 server (Xeon 1220 - 8Gb DDR3 - 2 x 500Gb HDD) for 120€... it's worth it? I already have a Phenom II X4 955....
Is there a chance you could break any components in the computer you plan to put into a new case? I have a dell OptiPlex with a Xeon 1225 that I put an r9 380, 600w psu, and 16gb ram in and Id like to put it in a new case.
Can I use a Thermaltake S100 Glass Micro-ATX Mini-Tower case instead without issue?
Hey Brian! I have a 6th Gen i5-6600 Lenovo thinkcentre pc. Is it possible to re-case those versions of the thincentre as well?
If so, would the parts you used for this build work with mine?
I will be doing this to a lenovo M83 soon. Do you think I will run into a problem with the fans that come with my new modern case? My board has only one fan header on it.
hey bryan, what do you do, when you case swap and the cpu fan wont work, no matter what fan you plug in?
Yo dude I have similar system just the cpu is i5 3rd gen 3570, and a 480gb SSD. But my pc still gets into framedrops in Valorant, Gta 5 and even fortnite. Can you give me a rough idea as to how I can fix the fps. I think it's happening due to over heating on an old school cpu case or a bad windows installation. Can you rule out anything else, ps. There's one more random symptom that I keep seeing these days on my pc and it's the failure of my motherboard's CMOS battery way faster than a usual battery should before it did die. I had to change 2 batteries within a span of 6 months.
Oh snap. An afternoon upload? I'M WATCHING IT!!!
just saw something like this Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p SFF with an i7 4770. 8gb of ram and 250hdd for around 165$. you think is worth it?
any issues with the front panel audio or usb connectors? i thought these were non standard
Can you do the video for power button connector ? I still can't understand how to mount it because my pc won't boot
I'm curious how much difference a 1230 v3 would make here, given this i5 is running at 3.1ghz all cores
Love this👍🏻👍🏻 Im new at this, I have the i7 4770 version SFF of this Lenovo. Should be the same process right? If I will change my psu, which one should I get for the rgb to work directly?
You just saved me a cooler with the temp sensor thing :)
Can we use 2 small (like 300w) PSUs' to power 1 system, it seems like it can fit?
*Never buy an GTX 1050ti, when you can buy an 4Gb RX 470 / RX 570 for the same price !!!* Because the RX 470 / RX 570 is 30 % faster !
Good luck finding one for a normal price I have seen 470/570s for $200-250 and 580s for 300+
Keypoint: *for the same price*
Because as far as I know, it cost at least 60% more than gtx 1050 ti
Seems like you've been out of the loop a bit. Normally you would be right but prices are crazy right now.
Agreed but its all about what you can find right now.
I just got a rx 580 8gb for 100$@melvinhans1844
