Before all the upgrades, what would this PC be able to handle? I am thinking of buying and slowly building overtime but I would like to know what the base system could handle.
If you want to game you gotta get atleast something like a GTX 750ti LP. The RX 550 LP's are ehhhh but alot of AMD cards don't work with Lenovo boards and chipsets. Weird.

Sorry for the delayed response - Yeah that is strange, but hey great minds right? I just put out my newest video and I have 5 videos I already recorded all the footage for, but I got a Lenovo m920s (6 core i5 8500, 16 GB's of RAM, 256 GB NVMe drive) $200!!! I'm debating modding that out like I did this, and it being my Home Entertainment Center, but I also got in 2 brand new Bit Fenix Prodigy Cases one Black and Blue and would love to move the stuff from the newer Lenny into the Prodigy Case but I don't think the board will fit. I have a super tiny HP Elite with a board that will fit but it's only an i7 6700. I kinda want more power.
Hey man, great video, i coincidentally bought a GTX 1050ti recently to upgrade this exact system and found your video while searching for the answers. I got stuck at the GTX 1050ti part - the fans spin, but i can´t get any picture whatsoever. Any ideas? I´ve tried updating the BIOS to the latest version, nothing, a user on the Lenovo forums suggested i update the ME firmware to the latest version which is what i´m about to do now, but out of curiosity, did you happen to have any issues with running the card?

Might be a long shot with the video being a year old but any chance you can drop a video of how you fit that plexiglass into the case once you cut it out?
Hey sorry for the delayed response. I’m in the middle of moving into a new house and then will hopefully start making some more videos. I did use a dremel to cut out the side panel and while most people use a acrylic knife for cutting plexi glass I always use blue painters tape over the glass, draw my lines and cut with a jigsaw and fine point blade.
This vid was very helpful Nick! Question for you. I have the same Lenovo M93p sff and was thinking of adding a GTX 1650 LP (GDDR6), however I'm not sure if it'll work because Lenovo's support site indicated that the PCIe x16 slots are 40w max. Any advice you can offer?
Hey Ekim, sorry for the delayed response, I got really sick over the holidays. Yes, the 1650 LP will work fine in this machine. I seemed to get asked that alot but my buddy is running the same rig with the 1650 SFF and it works with no problems.

@@Tech215Studios Came back here to say that Xeon 1230 v3's are probably the best CPU upgrade path for these old Lenovos. They're like 30-40 bucks and they're about the same performance as the 4770. The 1060 6GB seems to be the most reasonably performing card I've tested on this board, the 1060 3GB is also a good performer as well as the 970, 980 and 980ti if you have a good PSU. There are adapter cables all over the web to case swap these Haswell Lenovos into better cases. I personally just put a Lenovo ThinkStation with a Xeon 1230 v3 and 32GB of DDR3 into an older all white ATX case with decent airflow and RGB and put a hyper 212 cooler on the Xeon to keep it nice and cool and put a 1060 6GB in there and it flipped only 3 days after I posted it. I think the three RGB fans in the front and the RGB fan on the cooler plus the glass panel made the build appealing. if you know anything about board spraying look into it. I did a white build with an Asus GTX 1060 6GB white edition, Montech X1 RGB case and what not so I got some non-conductive paint and I taped off all the important stuff and used some broken DDR3 dimms to populate the ram slots and taped over them as well before painting and I used broken fans and snipped their wires to cover fan headers. Broken parts are still usable for other applications. Dead CPU and tape covered the CPU socket. I did all that to get a white mobo with black after market VRM headsinks and I painted the other heatsinks on the board black as well to make it black and white (aka, not look like OEM pewp) it is a little extra work but when you finally see the all white build with a white GPU white case rainbow RGB Fans and glass side panel and you see the face of the client who's STOKED to get alllll of thisfor like 400-500 bucks it's nice :) I only charge my labor rate, never upcharge on parts :)
Thanks Man!!! Yeah it won't hurt it, but I totally hear ya bro, and good eye catching that! Thanks for dropping a comment man, I appreciate the support!

No. The only way it would is if you took out the board and put it into another case. Also, if you are going to do a case swap which I think is a great idea you’ll need to make sure you put in a PSU that has PCIe power cables and get the Lenovo 24 to 14 pin PSU adapter. Also, you’ll want to bring the temperature sensor over from the Lenovo case and put it into the new case. I hope this info was helpful.

Got directed to here by Google......my back up PC is a M93p SFF too but it's using i3-4160 and I added a 1050ti LP long time ago, so far everything ok but recently when I am looking for information for upgrading CPU to i7 I noticed that 1050ti LP required 3000W PSU, which makes me worry about the stability of the machine due to PSU issue. May I ask do you ever notice any issue with the stock PSU, or do you record how many power consumed during testing? Picked up a good and cheap 2nd hand MATX case recently, should I just transfer everything to it and bought a more powerful PSU?
Hey Andy!! I'm so sorry about the delayed response my dude. Yes, that's a great idea. Just make sure you order the 24 - 14 Pin ATX PSU Adapter. They're like $7-$15 on ebay and Amazon. Thank you for your reply! I have finished the case swap, with a new 650W PSU and SSD. Got some great experience in the process. This is my back up Machine and it is a great exercise to practice how to upgrade my PC. But for next step, I am just wondering is it a good idea to continue the refit......in the place I live (Hong Kong), a used i7-4770 would cost as much as a new i5-10400F, or the combo of new i3-10100F+H410M motherboard. This really make me wonder should I just buy the 10th gen intel and sell my M93p instead of upgrading to i7-4770......

Yeah I already built one in another case, but I ordered these awesome pink Vetroo lights but they’ll only light up if the board has ARGB headers. Which I was a little shocked at. Usually using molex the fans will spin and light up. So I returned them and ordered a set of the up here wireless ones.
That’s a nice little build you got there. I got some cool videos on the way, just ordered an x99 mobo and a 5820k. That should be fun.

@@Tech215Studios those DELL SFF pc's with 3rd Gen Cpu's will fit 1050-1650 with the 16x pci-e slot close to the CPU heatsink cooler , i have search all the SFF models with over view photo's of the case with boards of it's 3rd Gen class, there are no Dell 4 gen Cpu SFF's pc that will fit the LP 1050-1650 cards, otherwise you would have to remove the psu because of the pci-e slots that are close to the PSU, the only cards that will fit the 4th Gen dell SFF units are the LP 1030 GT's and it's variants, the lenovo thinkcentre m93p SFF units would be the best for the thicker LP 1050-1650 cards, and that unit is a 4th Gen that max's out at 32GB of Ram! and has 2 pci-e 16 slots with all solid caps on the board. btw I'd stay away from HP, they are just trash, I work for the Federal Gov we use those pc because they are cheaper to purchase out of budget cost, that brand is trash and is laughed at by our repair teams servicing them when something goes wrong , which is most of the time.
Hi will the Radeon RX 6600 fit in this setup?

I’m telling you dude with a Dell PSU 300 Watt PSU I traded my buddy my Zotac Mini 1070 vs his Gigabyte 1070 and the mini ran on a SATA to 8 pin adapter with an i7 6700 just fine. Also, I’ve ran my LP 1650 in that same M93P no issues. I get asked this a lot and I think a lot of people recommend having extra head room is all.
Is that an HP Prebuilt?
Does it hurt to leave the plastic ventilation cap out? I want to put in a graphic card horizontally (Riser cable) and need a extra centimeter.
That would look sick man!!! Ventilation cap? Why am I drawling a blank with that? Do you mean the side panel? You could always cut holes in front of where the fans are on the GPU. I'd just use 3M tape, draw the circles and very very carefully drill holes. Send me pics when it's done!!
How do you stack the glass at the case? I thought you just covered the cutten part with rubber strap?
Haha!!! So I taped off the edges and painted them black. I usually don’t do it that way but I over cut the side panel a little.

That will look really awesome too!! Send me some pics man I'm curious how the build turned out!!! Instagram: Tech_215_ or Tech215Studios@gmail.com
Will this set up also works with Lenovo M92 ThinkCentre? seems like they do have same build but not that sure. Hope I can get an answer for this. Thank you.
Hey Jezron!!! Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, they are very similar, except the M92P's use 2nd and 3rd Gen Intel CPU's and they have a 24 Pin ATX Power Switch on the board compared to the M93P having a 14 Pin. Thanks for dropping a line!!!
@@Tech215Studios so it's compatible with i7 3rd gen? hoping for your reply
i'm use i7 4790 + gtx 1650 low profile for my hp 800 g1 sff
That's a nice little rig my man!!!
Wow nick ive started watching your vids and gotta say you dedinetly. Found your niche good job bro im actually looking for a budget gaming pc
Niiiice!!! Thanks Craig!! If you have any questions just lmk.
what is size of that graphic and did i need to get fan off graphic to put in my pc i am pc noob pls help
and u have 240w on power supply?
So it's a small form factor GPU, are you trying to put a full sized card in a small form factor case? Yes it's a 240 Watt PSU.
I know this is late but is there any difference between the lenovo m73 sff and the m93p sff?
I’ve never had one but I’ll do some research for you.
I have a M93p tower. Changed the PSU to a 1000w with a 24-14 adapter.
Plugged in a MSI GTX 1650.
But! It won’t boot! I can enter the bios if I press F1 but that’s it. What am I doing wrong?
The 1650 works with the m93p?
@@durriyahyusuf8314 it does now. Turns out it was a faulty bios that where the problem!
WHAT!?!?! That's crazy!! Did you replace the chip or just do a BIOS update? And great call getting the adapter. I touch on that in some of my other videos. Glad everything worked out Alex!!!
bro, I have a m90 (lenovo 5864) icore 5 650, with 6gb ram. Install an AMD ATI HD 7570 graphics card and when turning on the screen goes black. I tested it on another pc and if the graph works. Help!
Yeah so AMD cards don't work on lenny's, it fuckin' sucks. You can only use NVIDIA cards. There's a list out there some where, but "Google" compatible GPU's for Lenovo M90p. Is it a tower or SFF?
@@Tech215Studios Yes, it's SFF! Then i Will have to look for another Nvidia graphics card that works for me. Thanks Bro! Successes and blessings for you
Any Time Bro!!! Good Luck!!
Can you add led strip lights to this PC?
Yes - best bet is to go on EBay and buy a set that is SATA powered. This way you can power them thru the power supply. I hope this helps!!
@@Tech215Studios Thank you!
@@Tech215Studios how did you power the i71c LEDs? The remote requires a molex connection, which this unit doesn't have. And I don't see 🙈 an RGB connection on the motherboard. I'm feeling pretty dumb right now...
i have a lenovo m92p i7 3770 i use for rendering live streams. looking at the gtx 1050ti so i can take some load off the CPU and hopefully render my stream in 1080p60fps.
Does the lenovo need an upgraded PSU for this card? i cant tell if you upgraded the PSU in this video or just removed it to paint it
I get asked this all the time and the stock PSU in the SFF Dell's and Lenovo's work just fine. Even the GTX 1650 will run off the stock PSU. Thanks for dropping a line bud, considering subbing I'd appreciate the support!!
@@Tech215Studios liked and subbed! thank u for the info
