i love shakespeare excursion its a really good rod, one time i got caught and was pulling thought i was gonna fall backward on my boat and instead my line ended up breaking and the shakspeare rod did not break it actually remained in tact and its strong as can be for a 1 piece rod but the ugly stick is damn near impossible to break it got caught in the door of my car and the top of the rod still works really good, plus i caught 3 pound bass on before with it

The thing I hate about UA-camrs is complaining about equipment and how they should be better but this guy actually made his own rod. For once he just fixed the issue and he uses his own equipment, I really like the travel size, the bag seems durable. Great job dude !

For surf fishing, I would recommend 11-12-foot pole. The guide size of the pole will depend on what type of reel will be used. For the spinning reel, use a pole with a large guide close to the reel and get narrow as it reaches the tip of the pole. When you cast on a spinning reel the line unwinds from the spool, creating drag on the line which reduces the distance you cast the reason why you need a large guide close to the spinning reel.. For open face reel (level wind), use a pole with narrow guides close to the reel up to the tip of the pole. A narrow guide helps guide the fishing line as it unwinds from the reel to the guides/pole.

Ill use my 7'7 on the beach , jetty or pier for a one rod fun day. I always have an extra reel in the car just in case.

I agree with not every rod is for everything. But price wise get in where you fit in. It can get very expensive. Personally I’m a St.CROIX Blackhole guy pole wise . Shimano for the boat and pier. VanStaal for the beach.

For a beginner reel, I love the Daiwa BG. Things are bulletproof. I also have a Shimao Socorro that i've had since the early 00s that has never given me problems. The gears are starting to wear out, but replacement parts are pretty cheap and I have fun reconditioning them.

neddy here a tip i got, research your laws 1st and find that loophole and learn your laws cause this will help you save so many problems, for example just because its legal for me to use j hooks and circle hooks dont mean its legal for you to use j hooks for certain species, or youre allowed to use certain baits, some states have laws that its illegal to use live worms or that yu have to use artificial baits, otherwise yu can end up with really big fines, another thing is that though it might be legal for me to use any thing i want for bream or catfish doesnt mean its legal to use treble hooks in texas, i know in montanna its illegal to use live red worms for bream, or blue gill,

I've fished different rods and reels. I've learned that what you spend is the quality that you get. Only thing that I'm concerned about your rod is how well it will it holds up over time. The one company that does that style of connection for rods is break away tackle company. But I'm thinking about trying your rod to see how it preforms at the Texas coast.

I do fish for other stuff, but I prefer the f fight of the bigger fish so I’m running 80 pound braid on my 8000 and 55 or 65 pound braid on my 6000 series. I have a pin squadron and an ugly stick and a cheap daiwa rod. I’m looking for a better option, but I don’t want to pay a whole lot. The rods seem to cost more sometimes than the reels. It’s like buying a good but inexpensive Knife , but having a two dollar sheath and having to pay $300 for a good leather sheath when you only paid 150 for the Knife

Almost killed myself with a cheap 15’ Okuma this year..weighed near 10lbs and was so heavy it was more awkward than my Penn 12’ that it got less distance. It’s definitely a hit or miss game trying to find what’s right from the beach but I settled on a 6000 series Okuma with a 12’ Penn to hit the sweet spot under $200 total each..can’t go wrong with an Ugly Stick tho too! Need to get more floss, best invention ever to keep the bait on!

How about a jigging rod. Short powerful rods

1 pease rod ; 12-30 or 30-50 lbs (last is best in my opinion for boat-use) and a reel simular to the rod . good luck

Been watching your videos for almost 3 years. I really enjoyed your videos. Although we're in the different part of the world, I'm from the Philippines, and different fishing condition, I've been dreaming of catching fish like you do :).
Good rod you have bro. Will add to my wish lists :). Thanks for your videos. Very entertaining.

Basically, get the best rod you can afford. It's about having a good time and taking time to unwind. The more expensive stuff will come with time.

I love the Shimano Seguro you can't beat the price for around 80 dollars you can get up to 9 ft on mh fast with 20 to 50 lb braid. It is one of those rods that can do it all, they have no lure r rating also XD. I have the 8-foot with and run 30 lb braid it's mh fast I use it as a plugging rod and it works great. I have a Pen Battel VI 5000

I use fresh water rods and reels for sea fishing. Also sea rods and reels for fresh water fishing. Same with fishing lines and tackle. I've been fishing since the age of 4 years old. Broken branch for a rod. Piece of cotton thread for line and bent pin for a hook. Used pieces of bread as bait. Caught 4 trout over 2 lbs in weight. That was 57 years ago. I catch fish with what ever fishing gear I use. I have from the cheapest fishing gear and a couple of medium rods / reels. 99% of fishing gear is no better than the next. It's 7:20 just the dumb angler that buys it.

That’s awesome that you can catch fish on all sorts of gear. I agree, it’s not the tackle or gear that makes the fisherman. Thanks for watching and commenting, much appreciated 👍

Hey there! Thanks for the support! Unfortunately, we do not have it in the UK as we do not ship internationally, but if you know someone from the US, you can place the order and have it shipped to that address. 😊

The length of the rod is no.1 criteria- shorter rod for boat, longer rod for surf casting at the beach and everything else in between....

Have you ever fished in South Korea or Japan? I have seen one time you fished in Mexico I think it was. I also like to know if you do ship your product internationally to like South Korea because I like your products a lot and planning to move to S. Korea in the future. I enjoy all your videos and always recommend everyone to watch them.
